The grandpa monkey forced her to drink the pond water, so she would vomit what she ate that caused her stomach pain. Amazing!

I just met her today. It's all true, the way she described her experience, with tears welling up in her eyes. It was just so amazing to hear her story. I didn't realize she was even well known until I searched "Colombian disappearances". She told me about her life whilst we were just doing the dishes in our local church in Bradford and I definetly believe her, it was just so amazing.

I want to read her book so badly and hold onto it for my children. She's an amazing person and seems very kind at heart. Her daughter seems kind as well...obviously idk but they just do seem kind and genuine. IMO on a shallow note her daughter is also one of the most beautiful people I've ever seen! 0.0 The thing about the grandpa gorilla helping her with the water is so cool! The mention of God at the end is the "cherry on top" for me personally. She was able to have that feeling and faith even without being around people for all those years (and being around shitty people most other times growing up). I'm in awe of how inspiring and immense her words are and her outlook on her experience. Just how far she came is wonderful. I hope she can find some of the monkeys she grew up with.

I thought the same hearing about God, it was a cherry on top!! God def told those monkeys to take care of her. He's so caring, in my life He has protected my aunt through a cat several times. And my brother through a dog when he was 4years old! God is defiantly our Father!

I didn't fully believe the story myself until I saw this video. Now I truly believe her. I am still amazed and dumbfounded though at how a small child could survive what she did. I don't know how she didn't die of sheer fright. But when she mentioned God looking down on her! Ah yes! The Lord watched over her! He knew some day she would believe. Columbia was a horrible place in those days. I can't imagine any precious baby going through that. Truly man is most evil in his heart. How desperately we need the Lord and His redemptive work in our hearts.

Found the book in my local library, and after reading it(it makes a fabulous and awesome read), I'm 100% sure she's telling the truth...my God what a life she had when most of kids still live with their parents ,she d already experienced survival in the jungle,in the city, prisoner in a brothel and with a mafiosi family, again locked in a convent ,plus escaping death many times.Marina is definitely a survivor and much respect to her and all her family.

I find her accent in English intriguing. It doesn't sound like a Spanish accent, which would lend credence to the fact that she didn't fully grow up in a Spanish-speaking environment. And yet, if she had not spent her first 4-5 years speaking a human language, she wouldn't be able to speak at all.

This story has to be made into a movie, its so facinating. Even as a 5yo she must have had some human habits or behaviors that were of interest to the monkeys. In otherwords some cross species learning. I wonder if she remembers any such instances whereby the monkeys learned something from a human. Ive got to get the book.

I can't quite understand the part where she said she found out about what happened to the other kidnapped children and how they had their knees broken..Unless it was a generalisation of what happened to kidnapped children at that time...maybe stolen children were purposely injured and forced to beg and give the money to their "owners"?..that kind of thing does happen in poor countries.
