the Rhythm Thief price in the US feels so random to me as an european. Here the game goes for around 60€ brand new on Amazon and used for around 30€ but never the less great pick-ups!
I saw this at 2nd and Charles locally. They had Dragon Force on the Saturn. It said CIB, and they wanted a lot for it. I asked to look at it and it was missing the memory card sticker, so I pointed out that it was not CIB. Manager did not care. I also pointed out that it was priced $50 more than what sealed copies are going for. Manager still did not care. I asked if they would lower the price. Manager said no. so, I left the game there. I think it took almost 16 months to sell.
That magical quest 3 been on my hit list 4 years already. Last one sold at 300 OBO so I'd hold off on that one from the store but still great to find. Nice additions to the collection!

Also, that particular game never went for 400..so..why is it even listed for that to begin with?
We actually show the price charting graph in the video. There was a period a few months ago when they were actually selling for around $400. It's crazy how often prices can fluctuate 😀
I don't understand the Rhythm Thief high price. It was still available at retail less than a year ago for $40. It zoomed up that fast?? Seems artificially inflated to me...

I have doa dimensions 3ds loose case & manual. I see your po box in the description. I don't mind shipping it, or do you prefer to find it in the wild?
A 3DS game for $400? Not in that many years. Even the price you paid was a bit steep, if you ask me. Anyway, it's now in your collection so I hope you are happy. Dead or Alive Dimensions is great, by the way. You should really try to find a CIB for that. It's worth it.
Shoutout to Doug at retro city. I’ve gotten great deals there before. And they get crazy rare stuff in all the time. By the truck loads. Passed on a Metal Slug pachislo machine that was there for a day and wish I didn’t!
Yeah! Your video was recommended in my feed. Started watching and said, “hey, I know that place!” I’ll check your other vids. Vegas native. Not sure if you visited WiiPlayGames too, but that’s a great retro store with good finds out here.
Funny how he was talking about prices going up and down. That game has still never sold for anywhere near 400. He's just buggin and didn't want to look like a clown on video.
If people would just stop buying at those prices, everything would drop. Why are their so many suckers out there? Seriously… Take the Silent Hill series for example. The games are not rare at all! People keep buying them at $200+ though and as long as they trend at that price, they continue to be listed at those prices. Just because something isn’t available digitally doesn’t mean it’s rare. (Which seems to be the argument)
There's a difference between being a collector and being a hoarder, A collector collects the latest in demand items that are easy to resell, that people actually want to buy, and a hoarder collects old outdated items, that nobody wants, that they can't resell. collecting retro games is like collecting comic's or cassette tapes, they have no value and are only good for one place, and that's landfill.
@@JRPGLife with video game prices the way they are now, it better to pirate games on pc, as all first party developers are raising the prices of games, just become a third party gamer and avoid all of the bullshit from Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo.
You make a great point. I love video games but yes they're are useless fascinations and to resell them at these prices (especially anything "graded") is the reason this hobby is dying even impacting modern games.
It's challenging to qualify which we are "more of" since we collect games and play them. But we each have our own favorite games, and the list is a lot longer than 5 lol. Maybe we will cover them in a video someday 🤔
I don't collect retro games, it's a waste of time and money. Buying games well over their msrp, is money you will never get back, because it will be difficult to resell them, alternatives exist. Emulators, modchips which allow piracy , re-releases and remasters of old games, pc ports. Retro game collecting is dead and there is nothing that will bring it back from the grave.
Well we wouldn't have bought it for 2000 in the first place if it's a game we want to play. If we stumble on a game we want to play that happens to be sealed, without the sealed price, that's when we buy it and open it. To be clear, we don't seek out sealed games, we seek out CIB games. If there is a major delta in value and we stumble on a sealed game for cheap, we will likely sell it, buy a CIB version, then use the profits to buy more games 😀
@@JRPGLife guess thats why these games become more and more expensive. People like you wiping them off the planet. You suck balls dude. Tell ya that right to your face too

If I was someone collecting some games for my own enjoyment I would likely be physically I'll if I paid $400 for a game. It would take the enjoyment and fun of collecting away immediately.
I have doa dimensions 3ds loose case & manual. I see your po box in the description. I don't mind shipping it, or do you prefer to find it in the wild?
We don't mind at all! 😀 We actually forgot to pick up the game while at the store because we were so distracted by the Rhythm Thief lol
@@JRPGLife oh no, now it won't be complete lol
I randomly took a shot on rhythm thief like 5 years ago cause I love rhythm games and sega for like $10-$15.
Nice! It's so good!
Antonio is the best, I’ve dealt with him several times and he’s always been super accommodating.
Great dude!
Funny thing this market will crash when ppl need cash
Pointed out some bootleg pokemon carts to my local store the other day
Monster Tale , great pickup
Also, Rhythm Thief is awesome. I got it cheap, in Europe and beat it not too long after
Nice!
Just curious. Did they have other 3ds xls to there for less? Ones that weren't a special edition?
I think they may have had some loose 3DS consoles, but I can't remember 😕
Wonder how much that big box Mortal Kombat 3 was
“Im too drive to drunk.”
?
A 3DS game for $400? Not in that many years. Even the price you paid was a bit steep, if you ask me. Anyway, it's now in your collection so I hope you are happy. Dead or Alive Dimensions is great, by the way. You should really try to find a CIB for that. It's worth it.
That pricing is dumb
Shoutout to Doug at retro city. I’ve gotten great deals there before. And they get crazy rare stuff in all the time. By the truck loads. Passed on a Metal
Slug pachislo machine that was there for a day and wish I didn’t!
That sounds wild!
Yeah! Your video was recommended in my feed. Started watching and said, “hey, I know that place!” I’ll check your other vids.
Vegas native. Not sure if you visited WiiPlayGames too, but that’s a great retro store with good finds out here.
Derp. You did go to WiiPlay. Just saw another video lol
Lol yep! Great guys as well 😀
hey what is the graph you use to check prices on stuff?
Pricecharting.com 😀
@@JRPGLife thanks
Those rune factory games on ds are amazing. I have spent so many hours on them
They are so good!
Have you ever went to Grandline Games in Vegas?
Nope, not yet. Usually we only have time to visit shops on the eastern side of Vegas when we pass through there 🙂
Funny how he was talking about prices going up and down. That game has still never sold for anywhere near 400. He's just buggin and didn't want to look like a clown on video.
Pricecharting value definitely spikedto around $400 at one point, but it shot back down. They are really good guys there 😀
If people would just stop buying at those prices, everything would drop.
Glad I bought rhythm thief years ago when it was around $30. Goodness these prices 😳
Very nice!
It happened to me a couple of days ago I went to buy a ps4 slim it was 220£ pound I walked to another shop round the corner it was 140£
Nice!
Thats nuts thats like double of what its worth.
Option 3:
Collecting video games so we can play them on their original hardware. That's where we fall, and it's neither category 🤔
So my question is . Are you more of a collector or a gamer? What are your top 5 JRPGs?
It's challenging to qualify which we are "more of" since we collect games and play them. But we each have our own favorite games, and the list is a lot longer than 5 lol. Maybe we will cover them in a video someday 🤔
Looking forward to the vid!
I am after the oz rpg game myself but it never came out here so gets expensive to import even loose lol
Great to see that they worked with you...
All those prices are accurate now
those are some bangers that you got today great finds
Thanks so much 😀
I don't collect retro games, it's a waste of time and money.
Buying games well over their msrp, is money you will never get back, because it will be difficult to resell them, alternatives exist. Emulators, modchips which allow piracy , re-releases and remasters of old games, pc ports. Retro game collecting is dead and there is nothing that will bring it back from the grave.
Hey thanks so much for watching and commenting!
Nice pickups! =D
Thanks so much!
Love your videos 👍🏻
Thanks so much!
new here. 3ds is my favorite console. so many great games.
Car Battler Joe is one of my favorites
Do you guys have dragon quest 7 and 8 they are awesome on the 3ds
Yep 😀
If you saw Barbie at a store for double price like $3,000 would you buy it
Lol I don't think we would buy it at regular price...it's just too pricey!
Got that rhythm thief game for 14.99 at GameStop quite some time ago. I got lucky 😅
Nice!
You open sealed games?
Absolutely, we buy games to play them 😀
So lets say you come across a Pokemon Red sealed for $2000. You're going to open it and play it? I'm sorry thats just crazy. 😮💨
Tell ya that right to your face too
Those are some pretty high emotions when all we are talking about is video games. I wish you the best brother, thanks so much for watching and commenting 😊
