I can't believe multiple times you were in Maine! I know of some nice oldies my friends have and I have a small yard full of 70's 80's chevrolet! Love barm find hunter!!
I met Tom at the 4 Wide Drag Races in Charlotte a few years ago talked to him quite a bit about cars actually every time I seen him through out the day , he would see me in the crowd and tell me I have another car story to tell you , I live the NHRA DRAG Races, but talking to Tom was better than the Drag Races, He IS A GREAT DOWN TO EARTH GUY ITWAS A REAL PLEASURE MEETING HIM , KEEP IT GOING TOM !
Ohhh man fellow Mainer here. Mr. Reny (?) seems like such a great man and what a great, eclectic collection! Love this show. Thanks for no drama and a real enthusiast type program pointing out the little details.
Was this filmed in Maine? Tom, I'm a native Mainer, have you ever visited or filmed at Goldenrod Garage out around Freeport Maine?? I'd love to see an episode with you visiting the collection in goldenrod garage.!!
Fire dept. Went that high comm. Pole. In flint barn finders. First interest was in fenton mich. Fire dept. On baldwin road fire house 2 years old. 7 jumps plus
I grew up 20 minutes outside of Boothbay, have family that lives down on the river. I wounder how many times I’ve passed by his place. I love how the windchims were left in the second clip. Just reminds me so much of being home. Twisted Iron in Wiscasset, another local town to me. They moved location to Edgecomb, still on RT 1, keep heading north past the turn off for boothbay harbor. He bought an old barn and redid it / the land. Its beautiful and great to see new life in a once abandonded building. I’ve met the Mike Benner several times, he is a wicked nice guy. Always putting on car shows at the local schools to try and get kids hooked. This episode brought me back home. Thank you so much.
I cannot explain how much I love H Bodies, Dad had 4, a V6 Monza, a Mirage (4,000 built) and 2 Spyders. He still has the 2 Spyders, one of them being bought a year ago as a project for me and him. Since then I love Monzas more than any other car, the Mirage being the pinnacle of them. Thank you for finding that, it made my day knowing that these are still kickin' ass
Great show! And Tom is the perfect host for a show like this. A friendly affable guy who really knows cars. This show deserves all the recognition it can get! And then some.
I am from Maine , (central western) and as a kid I spied thousands of old classic cars, however my first love was for fast boats. Today I am a classic car lover. Barn Find Hunter is #1 !!
***** yes! Actually a 70 Chevelle SS, 64 Plymouth Savoy, 64 Dodge Polara, 2 2000 Camaro SS's, 85/87 El Camino Royal Knight, 78 Dodge Diplomat, 97 Dodge Dakota R/T, and my rare find...A 67 Oldsmobile cutlass 442 Convertible. I am a high schooler that loves barns!
Tom is excellent, being around cars my whole life its nice to find someone who is informative, articulate and HONEST...It took me awhile to figure out who he reminds me of, and ill bet hes heard it before... Harrison Ford keep up the great work tom!
Awesome to see you made it up to Vassalboro! I live about a mile up the road from petter rainy have talked to him many times about his amazing collection of cars he has stashed away
Fantastic!!! My Grandmother was from Maine. It's a beautiful state full of hardy and friendly people and obviously alotta antique cars. That guy, Peter Rennie is my kinda guy. Never can have too many Fords. :-)
I fly drones and make videos and love cars, of course. I really like the way they add the aerial shots into these stories. Adds a really unique perspective to the locations where these barn finds take place. Bravo, Tom, from a fellow Tar Heel.
I owned a 38 Master Deluxe just like that in 1973. It had been abandoned down beside the river and someone had thrown bricks through all the side windows. We pulled it up and towed it to town. We put the jumper cables on it and primed the carburetor. Amazingly it started up after about four revolutions. The clutch plate was rusted to the flywheel and after working it for about thirty minute with the rear axle raised off the ground it came loose. The brakes still worked and I drove it home from the shop after changing the oil and filter.
Hi Tom, i stumbled upon your channel a couple of days ago, these barn find videos are great, i binge watched all of them today and loved it, thanks for the great content and i look forward to watching more i also subscribed, so i don't miss anything :)
I'm from East Boothbay and my parents still live there and I'll get to see them for the first time in over a year in a couple weeks, surprised me to see the Southport bridge
What I don't understand is that if something is sentimental, why not clean, polish and cover it over. I have 1920s furniture and once a month give it a good polish. Looks like it did 100yrs ago. Nice cars though
When I was 19 - 20 years old I worked at chevy dealership when the Monza first came out! I was only person who had small hands that was able to change the spark plugs on the V8 model. Note I am 60 years old now.....
great video thank you, i grew up across from a salvage yard that actually didnt become a salvage yard until thebegining of the 80's so all the vehicles that were there were just bought and put in the back of the yard...somewhere in the early 70's they bought a loader and his son moved some cars around in which case many got some damage, not alot but some..what they actually did was the trash contracts for the city and then went out for bids on other local towns but in the ends when the mob started getting into the trash hauling business he sold his last contract that he had won and went on to selling used auto parts...mostly everything form those years is gone because back in the early 80's i was hired to cut these old cars up for scrape and i will tell you i had never seen better made vehicles in my life at that time or since, sad to say that i had cut up edsels, nomads, and there were a few mini's with the 12inch tires...I had grown up loving old cars and have my favorite era which is late 40's to just about the begining of the 70's..I enjoyed watching your video's and loved some of the cars that were shown, but thats my problem when working in salvage yards i always wanted to save just about every car that came in and i am back here now across the street from the same company and i still go over to talk and pass the time and... have also bought a few cars from him that i use to get around town of course nothing great as what you have shown but i can always dream....thanks agian Mr Hagerty..
Wow. Maine, is such a beautiful state. It's kinda like WV, but without the coast. I'm gonna have to load my M5 up, and roadtrip it one time up there to check it out.
That is what I have been trying to say since episode 1. If you are GIVEN these cars, you will lose your shirt (and house) 99% of the time to restore them in todays market. Not a hobby any more, unless of course you are "just looking".
It's funny that you said they used it in winterport, because everyday I drive through there on route 1 and there is another old fire truck for sale not far from it in Frankfort!
My first car was a 1938 Chevy. It had knee action shocks which always leaked fluid onto the brakes. I was told that people would stuff rags in them instead of fluid. I would step on the brakes and never be sure which way it would pull.
I got the cash to buy 40 of these finds, $500, $1900, $2000, $2,500. All of the are nice regardless of what condition. Problem is towing them or payin; for transoport, then findin'a spot to store them. Plus I got lots of medical issues. I shoulda started 10 years ago when I retire on disability and had no hobbies, except for looking for old cars online. Damn I love them!
Chevy Monza....I remember it, my brother just got out of the Air Firce in 1977 and bought one. I was 17. Honestly I really liked driving that car. Maybe because it was better than my 1974 Chevy Nova?
Does anyone know if the Chevrolet Monza was in any way related to the Opel Monza? Both cars seem to have very similar proportions and they were built roughly around the same time.
loving this but you do only explore usa not other places, be cool to see you in the UK, but we mostly have in our barns rusty tractors or farming eqiupment it looks lovely i mean the body works good just needs anything wood to be replaced or checked, check the engine nice ol' fire truck, realy nice old car even with the fan and stearing wheel thingy man the fan alone is a rare thing but to see it on the car! that must of cost a far amount back in the day, well its not rusting or out in the elements rotting or being destroyed by rust plus the markets kinda low for that type of car a chevy monza well sir thank you one car i've not seen and now i have, it kinda looks like the old opel sports car from the 70's might even be based on that, that's a 56' t-bird convertable 5k for 2 57/56 t-birds that's pritty good i mean it would look great as a rat rod plus any parts left over could be used to get it something too 3500 bucks for a lovely car?! it looks great but look rusty 2 door hard top? wow rare normally its 4 door but 2 door is sweet too awww jaguar XJS lovely cars just a shame they had bad eletrics plus if it a usa its bound to have the UGLY usa safety black plastic bumper oooo an edsel lovely cars but i'm more a country wagon guy one of those wagon form yes please that was new age to have a push button gears not a gear stick on the dash or the floor to this day it has yet to make a comeback, you don't hear that very often on old cars unless there 70's or 80's orgnial owners from new most older cars pre 60's were owned by others maybe 3 4 times but to see a car orgnial owners from new that is nice lovely 41' car looks great too slight rust but is awsome 5k again? that is cheap for a rare car really nice cars loving them all
found a 1951 Chrysler Windsor sitting on a field for sale at 500 CAD. all trim wis there with almost no body rust, nice patina and engine that turns over.. (owner says it last ran 10 years ago) but the floor was pretty bad on some spot and interior is rough with trims complete.. I'd love to have it but I'm in high school and I have no space for it.. 😢😢

Ohhh man fellow Mainer here. Mr. Reny (?) seems like such a great man and what a great, eclectic collection! Love this show. Thanks for no drama and a real enthusiast type program pointing out the little details.
I have a brother that just restored a 1923 Stutz fire truck, as he said for the parade when he retires.
I had a Y-block, 292 in a ‘59 Ford. I’d bet the engine in that Edsel was an FE (Ford-Edsel), 332 or 352. The big engine of its day . . .
Love the Banjo steering wheel in that 38 Chevy.
I didn't want this episode to end - thank you SOOOOOOO much for these uploads!
The aerial drone photography in this series is just great and adds a lot to these stories.
I was born and grew up in Middleboro ma , then when maximotor went out of business read screen all was in that shop and I work there also
Was this filmed in Maine? Tom, I'm a native Mainer, have you ever visited or filmed at Goldenrod Garage out around Freeport Maine?? I'd love to see an episode with you visiting the collection in goldenrod garage.!!
Great show, love the respect shown to all the families and people involved. Really honest and respectful host, and it gets him into every closed door!

By the way, did you knock on the louvers (quarter and hatch) to see if they're metal? If that's the deal then those are very rare.

used to be me and my Dad, we ended up with about 13 cars at one point
They need to make this a full on show. It's great
Tv executives would ruin it.
Ya it wouldn’t be authentic, they’d turn it into Pawn Stars.
This is how car shows should be with out all the drama just about cars
watch jay leno's garage
Steve Magnante does a show called Roadkill's Junkyard Gold on the Motor Trend app and some of them are on RUclips. Good show. Lots of knowledge
Your videos are like taking a walk back in time very cool to see what yall find. Always a great show 👍

What I don't understand is that if something is sentimental, why not clean, polish and cover it over.
I have 1920s furniture and once a month give it a good polish.
Looks like it did 100yrs ago.
Nice cars though
edsel e400 engine is 361 cui, 400 stands for the torque

That 2 door Edsel would look great restored. First 2 door I ever saw.
Hey Tom would you consider doing an episode about your collection?
Come on Tom it's time to come clean.
I kind of did when we did the North Carolina episode. But I could certainly do more.
tom cotter did you get that phaeton
Edward Sabo YES
Yes, my home state of Maine! Lots of good barn finds hiding about, I've found a few of my own
I see that you lost the sling! Glad you're doing better!
Thank you. My broken shoulder is heeled!
Another terrific episode in a very cool location! Probably just me but $5K for the T-Bird and parts car seems a little steep.
Not just you 3 grand max
Too bad I didn't know you guys where going to be in my neck of the woods. I could have shown you some great locations..
K.
b h jc h c rvgg c. y: VT
I love that they were in our neck of the woods
At least this one was 20 min! 🙏 Thank you!
Kind of reminds me of the show that used to be on Velocity called "The American Car Prospector".....Great show, as well.....
the amount of optimistism he has for these rusted pieces of metal can freeze hell
all it takes is time and money
That is what I have been trying to say since episode 1. If you are GIVEN these cars, you will lose your shirt (and house) 99% of the time to restore them in todays market. Not a hobby any more, unless of course you are "just looking".

Tom you didit great, one more wonderful episode, please continie
Love that Monza Mirage. Never saw one before that
My first car was a 1938 Chevy. It had knee action shocks which always leaked fluid onto the brakes. I was told that people would stuff rags in them instead of fluid. I would step on the brakes and never be sure which way it would pull.
This is a very interesting episode. It was great seeing the old iron, except for the T-Bird and other cars that were not covered.
Isn't that something. Wow thats amazing
I feel like there's so much material on the cutting room floor that would make for fascinating feature length episodes. Don't be shy guys.
Chevy Monza....I remember it, my brother just got out of the Air Firce in 1977 and bought one. I was 17. Honestly I really liked driving that car. Maybe because it was better than my 1974 Chevy Nova?
A heck of a show.
I'm on my fourth night on your 68 part playlist these vids are the the best web.
LOVE this show!!
Absolutely know what the gentleman means when he said he just likes seeing it here.
Keep it up Tom! This is great!
thanks again for all your hard work.
Excellent! That chevrolet looks very similar to the opel manta gte saloon
Maine is a beautiful state..
yup I've been trying to buy that firetruck from Ralph for 15 years, price always seemed over its value for condition.
Wonderful stuff as ever
The chevy monza is a Opel Manta here in Europe. ...plenty parts for it around here
Does anyone know if the Chevrolet Monza was in any way related to the Opel Monza? Both cars seem to have very similar proportions and they were built roughly around the same time.
loving this but you do only explore usa not other places, be cool to see you in the UK, but we mostly have in our barns rusty tractors or farming eqiupment
it looks lovely i mean the body works good just needs anything wood to be replaced or checked, check the engine nice ol' fire truck,
realy nice old car even with the fan and stearing wheel thingy man the fan alone is a rare thing but to see it on the car! that must of cost a far amount back in the day, well its not rusting or out in the elements rotting or being destroyed by rust plus the markets kinda low for that type of car
a chevy monza well sir thank you one car i've not seen and now i have, it kinda looks like the old opel sports car from the 70's might even be based on that,
that's a 56' t-bird convertable 5k for 2 57/56 t-birds that's pritty good i mean it would look great as a rat rod plus any parts left over could be used to get it something too 3500 bucks for a lovely car?! it looks great but look rusty 2 door hard top? wow rare normally its 4 door but 2 door is sweet too awww jaguar XJS lovely cars just a shame they had bad eletrics plus if it a usa its bound to have the UGLY usa safety black plastic bumper oooo an edsel lovely cars but i'm more a country wagon guy one of those wagon form yes please that was new age to have a push button gears not a gear stick on the dash or the floor to this day it has yet to make a comeback,
you don't hear that very often on old cars unless there 70's or 80's orgnial owners from new most older cars pre 60's were owned by others maybe 3 4 times but to see a car orgnial owners from new that is nice
lovely 41' car looks great too slight rust but is awsome 5k again? that is cheap for a rare car
really nice cars loving them all
Gosh, I love Maine.
What Peter didn't show is his warehouse full on restored Fords.Amazing collection all like new, dozens of them.
Holy heck a Monza, haven't seen one of those in over 30 years.

Great finds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
found a 1951 Chrysler Windsor sitting on a field for sale at 500 CAD. all trim wis there with almost no body rust, nice patina and engine that turns over.. (owner says it last ran 10 years ago) but the floor was pretty bad on some spot and interior is rough with trims complete.. I'd love to have it but I'm in high school and I have no space for it.. 😢😢
I had a Monza with a LT1 out of a wrecked Corvette. Lots of trouble for a teenager.
Wonderful editing.

Damn- That woody sounds nice.
There is a junkyard in dixmont maine the the 4 way intersection behind the fire dept. They wouldnt let me look but who knows they might let this show take a look. Everything looks pre 80s
a lot of cool stuff
THE ENGINES DEPENDS ON THE MODEL A RANGER OR PACER HAD A 361 CU IN 303HP ENGINE AND THE CORSAIR OR CITATION HAD A 410 CU IN 345HP ENGINE .AND THE CENTER STEERING WHEEL SHIFTER WAS ON THE EDEL'S MERCURY & LINCOLN FOR 1958 MADE BY THE ATWOOD VACUUM MANUFACTURING CORP IN ROCKFORD IL FOR FORD.
My Dad had many cars but in 1978 he bought a Chevy Monza. Black with black and white interior. My brother was a mechanic and would get so furious and throw wrenches and cuss G.M. for puting a 305 in such a small space..lol.
Should have went to larry dipetros in rome maine. He has hundreds of old cars out back
I'd love to see some follow ups what happened to vehicles that are sold, such as the fire truck.
What engine is in your station wagon? Great episode. These old vehicles - they live on among us.
It's funny I've been there since I live in Maine.
