I would like to state that at no moment was I protesting, I was simply vlogging what I saw, meeting the locals and having fun with the locals and listening to what they had to say as I always do. This does not mean I agree with them. In no way would I ever protest again the government of Indonesia, I respect Indonesia and the Indonesian people. I waved your flag with pride. At no time did I have a clear understanding of what was being protest or who it was against. The banners in the video I showed and the sign I held meant absolutely nothing to me, not only could I not read them, even if I could I wouldn’t be able to understand the exact message behind them. I simply held them to pose for the photo for the locals. Some over the top comments saying I’ll be arrested and jailed … I doubt it, but if I do… I would like to be able to vlog it (that would be a pretty interesting series) I’ll make it 100% clear again, this was completely for comedic value and I have absolutely no political stance against the Indonesian government. I know you are likely trying to just help and warn me and I appreciate that. However the video is done and is uploaded now. I rest my case! Peace ✌🏼

We don't want you to become a victim and create a bad image of our hospitality. I think it's ok documenting or vlogging a protest... Even if you caught by police and suspect you as a provocator from foreign country, then you just show and explain to the police that you have youtube channel, and they will confirm that you're just a tourist. So don't worry... I think today, police is now more friendly than before, they won't take you if they don't have any proof or evidence.

Nah bro not arrogant, I was trying to film the video on one take and it’s quite overwhelming when you approach 100s of people and no one can speak English when I just spent the last week speaking English fine with everyone …. Repeating the same phrase, surely someone would have heard me, but it didn’t work like that until I found the guy at the end. It’s easy to sit back and make remarks like that while relaxing and watching but when you are trying to film and get in unexpected situations, the last thing I’ll do is pull out google translate.

Bohirnya uda kehabisan uang tuh, cuma bisa hadirkan segelintir
Yg demo sedikit, kayaknya bukan karena bohirnya kehabisan uang. Tapi ke masalah tema demonstran yang dibawa. Persoalan hidup & urussan petani kan jarang sekali diminati oleh demonstran dan diperhatikan pemerintah. Yang demo susah cari teman2nya. Yang petani juga susah cari perwakilan yang mau memperjuangkannya.

@@andreallbertaries5446 Peduli sama petani koq gak boleh. Saya sbg petani dan banyak petani lainnya justru menyuruh anak2 kami jangan jadi petani kalau sikonnya spt sekarang ini. Anak2 / mahasiswa itu juga banyak yang dari keluarga petani dan tahu bagaimana perjuangan orangtuanya. Kamu mungkin gak merasakan dilemanya petani. Ketika 2 tahun kemarin pajak PBB sawah naik 5X lipat. Kenaikan obat dan pupuk. Itu semua bikin bangkrut dan terpaksa menjual sawahnya daripada rugi terus.

After i reading about what about all indonesian comment : "foreigner protesting is illegal". i think you missunderstanding about that too, they know you in this video about just documenting / or vlogging the protest activity, but that activity (vloging) still "POTENTIALLY" seeeing by goverment as act joinning the protest by publishing video. publishing video means share "the idea that what they protest". thus This activity could become chaotic and an uncontrolled situation. We don't want you to become a victim and create a bad image of our hospitality.
So, all here WE LOVE YOU to inform to you avoid that activity again.

but again, near or involving (by intentionally or unintentionally) on protest mass, should not seen as tourist actitivity.
