The female is a subspecies called lightfuries closely related to nightfuries. You can see more of them in the hidden world. The babies of toothless are funnily called nightlights
Awwww... ive always wondered if the night fury's advantage is being able to fly under the cover of the night, what would mating with a white version mean for their survival in the wild once the babies are born with white splotches
Putting it out there, Hiccup trusted the tail to work because there's a Christmas special film called "Gift of the Nightfury" where he did that. That's why Astrid says "you've done it before, he didn't want it." In Gift of the Nightfury he experimented until he got a tail that works without a rider working well. And in the end of the movie Toothless dragged out his old saddle and smashed the automated tail because he liked putting his trust in Hiccup and didn't want to fly without him.
HTTYD was always meant to be a trilogy. As someone who is a fan since only the first one was out, the director always explained that no matter how succesful the franchise was they were going to make only 3 movies. I'm not sure where did you guys get that there is going to be a 4th one but there isn't... There are tv shows and other related content tho, but not movies. This is the end of Hiccup and Toothless adventures and I'm glad you enjoyed them! :')
@@ForeverxGone1 I just looked it up and it's not a sequel, it's a live action project. How To Train Your Dragon will always be a trilogy and it was clearly stated by Dean DeBlois. The live action will probably cover the first movie; and I'm not sure how excited I am about a live action of HTTYD but well time will tell
or maybe they were referring to the homecoming one (How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming) and thought that it was the fourth movie idk I could be wrong but I wish they'll watch that one as well
@@valen-tl7pc Well, we can't be sure they won't be new movies since there's a serie continuation (dragon the nine realms) wich is about hiccups's descendant and his friend exploring the hidden world.
19:56 Just in case you guys read this, Hiccup is not referring to Drago in the last movie when he said "We've dealt with his kind before..." he's referring to an enemy he encountered in the TV Series that likes to play mind games with hiccup, literally outsmarting each other (That's all i can say without spoiling the rest😅)
To basically explain the Light Fury, they are NOT female Night Furies. Light Furies are a sub species while Night Furies are the main species, that's why Grimmel reacts the way he does when he heard about Toothless. That's also why Toothless's kids are a hybrid, a new species (explored in the HORRIBLE sequel series), the Night Lights The color of a Night Fury is also because of the decendency from Skrills (Lightning based dragons)
Little detail/headcannon that I wanna point out: The invisible ability is a power that I think both Nightfuries and Lightfuries are taught to uses by their parents from a young age (I assume this because the nightlight babies are seen doing it during the last scenes). But toothless wasn't aware of this probably because his parents were killed by Grimmel when he was a baby, which is why the Lightfury female had to teach him.
Glad you guys enjoyed this triology, really hope you give the tv series a try one day. It’s pretty good and bridges the first and second movies through the years pretty well.
@Captain Teeko Riders and Defenders of Berk are two halfs of the same coin. Yes Race to the Edge was better but I loved those seasons as well. Jumping straight into Race to the Edge is just confusing, that and the series just got better the more it went along.
@@kieranwrightstone2199 plus it references events that occurred in Riders/Defenders of Berk a lot. The biggest one being the very opening of the series when Daggur the Deranged broke out of prison on Outcast Island which sets the events of Race to the Edge in motion. So anybody who doesn’t watch those two series are gonna have absolutely no idea what’s going on straight off the bat. Like who this character even is and why he was locked up in the first place.
Fun Fact: in the original script Drago was supposed to return as a good guy. After his defeat he washed up on a deserted island whose only other resident was a particularly aggressive dragon. Being wounded and starving he couldn’t control it as easily as he did other dragons. In his attempts to dominate it so he could escape he unintentionally formed a bond with it. The idea was scrapped about halfway through production for being to complex.
...I feel like I hear that one before and cant quite pinpoint where Also I heard of the one where instead of the Light Fury, they had a baby fury for Toothless to take care of an then eventually discover more. I think it would have been much better to show that it is hard for them to take care of the baby and other new dragons an eventually end on the same note as the original but without Toothless ditching Hiccup for a mate. Seriously they had such a strong bond but just cause shes same species? I know they are thought to be extinct but it undermines Hiccup and Toothless's bond with is the point of the franchise. She even attacked Hiccup and Toothless only thought was another fury. sorry if this sounds too nitpicky
@@maexslg-at To be fair, he's still the equivalent of a wild animal; remember, he's not tamed, he's trained. There's a difference. Animals that formed strong bonds with people in our world have left but returned, like with Toothless. They were wild animals trained and left to as animals; it's expected and healthy that way. He's still a wild dragon, he's not a human.
I just love the Monster Hunter-esque armor everybody's rocking this movie. A Fun visual to show how deep the connection between dragons and dragon riders have become.
Yes, it's incredible how similar httyd and MH (Stories in particular) are. I wonder if we will ever get a crossover in the form of an event quest, probably not, they seem do it only for videogame universes...
A hopefully helpful explanation about the light fury/ night fury would be to call the species Furies and then they have two subspecies, Night and Light. A real world comparison; tigers. There are 5 subspecies of tigers, but they're all still tigers with slight differences based on where they live, and how they've adapted to survive different habitats.
1.i read somewhere that the Lightfury can go invisible because her scales reflect the surroundings 2.The Mating dance that Toothless did was so weird because he is to human like 3. He also went around the traps because the Lightfury warned him at the first meeting 4.Drago is Stoic if he would have continued hating dragons and Grimmel is Hiccup if he would have killed Toothless 5.Some people think that its the Lightfurys fault that the Dragons dissapeared but its not true, she would have stayed but Hiccup finally realised that it would never end and that its just not safe 6. The Lightfury is not A white Nightfury she is a subSpecies of the Nightfury 7.some people think that the Lightfury is just Smooth and glittery because she is a Female but thats not true, she has scales and The glitter is not glitter, those are scales 8.we Saw other Lightfurys in the Hidden world (and Dragos Alpha too), The Male Lightfurys look the same and im sick of people thinking that its just because she is Female and that its all her fault 9.and not to forget she kicked Hiccup off and always flew away because she is Scared, she Got captured and hunted her whole life and some people are mad at her for behaving the way she does) 10. Hiccup already made a Self Flying Tail but Toothless didnt want it so that was kind of the Test Try (it worked well) And its always funny how Hiccup and Astrid say they are going to search for Ruffnut but then they search for Toothless and completely forget about Ruff and just dont care and i goddamn Love the Lightfury so much
night furies are very related to white furies, but they are two different species, this is confirmed by the creators. In nature, their hybrids are found because these two species are so related that, despite the differences, they often formed pairs.
Toothless's instincts, if you want to call it that, are perfectly fine. In the first scene of the first movie Toothless was essentially already the alpha and he lead the attacks of Berk and all the villagers were most afraid of him. He was 15 when Hiccup found him so he existed around other dragons for 15 years, then Berk was transformed into a dragon habit, and they've been living in a dragon sanctuary with him as the alpha for over a year. Pretty sure he's good in that regard
Also incase y’all didn’t know. When making the first HTTYD dreamworks made a new lighting program just for it. I think it’s something they’ve tried to improve on as the films go on, it’s always spot on and they did a wonderful job but it was cool to know this was something specially made for the movie.
I noticed that Dreamworks follows a pattern with their trilogies, to a very similair way of how authors write books, which makes them succeed with their sequels, and disney fail. httyd 1: the beginning. httyd 2: the wars. httyd 3: the aftermath/final battle. Kung Fu panda 1: the beginning. Kung fu Panda 2: the wars. Kung Fu panda 3: the aftermath/final battle. then there's their other pattern. with main enemies, to emotionally challenge their main characters. Httyd 1: Red death/toothless's enemy. Httyd 2: Drago/Stoicks enemy httyd 3: Grimmel/Hiccups enemy. KFP 1: Tai Lung/Shifu's enemy. KFP 2: Shen/Poe's enemy. KFP 3: Kai/Oogway's enemy. with Disney's there's no emotional connection between hero and villain to keep you engaged, or a proper cycle for the other sequels.
I love the thrill of the hunt. Tracking, Stalking, mapping out the paths, the behaviours of your prey. Then with the culmination, the shot, the trap, the success, the reaping of the reward of days of work. Big game, small game. Rabbits, deer, fowl. It is simply fun.
The thing with Grimal and rhe Lightfury, is they said his “favorite bait”, which implies that he’s used her as bait before, and she’s the only one he’s allowed to live
Not quite. This is the first time he’s come into contact with this specific light fury as far as we know (as she was just captured and brought in to him). It’s not meant to imply he’s used her specifically as bait before but that he’s used furies’s tendency to mate for life and form strong bonds with each other in order to hunt night furies. The specifics are obviously unclear but we can at least infer he’s probably used light furies for this in the past (and is obviously aware of their existence and that they are a separate subspecies from night furies, that are still somewhat copious as seen by the multiple shown in the movie- presumably at least partially because Grimmel specifically only hunts night furies). He possibly started off using just other night furies as bait and then using light furies when night furies became harder and harder to come by. Though this is just speculation on my part
The bulk of the Hidden World is only a year after the 2nd movie. The timeskip during the Epoluge is I think roughly 10 years? I believe Zephyr (the little girl) is 5 and Nuffink (the little boy) is 3? Edit: The female is called a Light Fury. She's a subspecies of Night Fury. Like how Grump (Gobber's dragon) is a subspecies to Meatlug (Fishlegs' dragon). Also, what I love about the failed mating dance is that it shows how Toothless has been around humans too much and not enough of his own kind. Hiccup was simply trying to tell him to repeat what the Light Fury did, but Toothless took Hiccup's movements too literally. And the baby Furies are called Night Lights. The fourth movie is planned to just the first one in live action. I wouldn't bother.
So the first one had a dragon as the villain, the second one a dragon tamer, and finally a dragon slayer. I wonder who would've been the villain if they had chosen to make a fourth one. Also, were you guys talking about the Grand Magic Games from Fairy Tail earlier?
Maybe all three as separate villains? That’s what kind of happened in the book series with its two villains, the dragon Furious and Alvin the Treacherous (who was more of a slayer than a tamer, but he did want a dragon army)
I’m pretty sure he does not use the sword for attacking I think he uses them for dragons cause he waves it on their faces and they get intrigued by it so it’s like a taming method as we have seen him use dragon knowledge to tame and stop dragons in the first movie.
Guys, the heartbreak and wholesomeness I felt seeing Hiccup and Toothless seperate was like nothing I've felt before. I watched *everything* this franchise had to offer and it was as if I was Hiccup, feeling everything he was feeling in that moment. Their bond, their friendship is... beautiful, and my heart can't take it. This trilogy is my number 1 favourite, and always will be. It made me cry a river everytime-- ;_;
We gotta get these guys to watch the legendary movie speed racer! Such an under appreciated movie and it’s use of cgi for storytelling rather than for quality is truly one of its kind.
The best way to explain the Night Fury "plot hole" to you guys without causing any confusion unlike the other comments is to compare dragons to felines. Dragons = Felines Night Fury = Lion Light Fury = Tiger The babies are called Ligers. Lions and tigers have so many similarities that they are practically the same except for the color and length of the fur. Same goes with Toothless and the Light Fury. They are almost the same except for the color and roughness of the scales. If you use the analogy, Grimmel killed all of the lions except for Toothless and he was using a female tiger as bait. Their comment on the Night Fury storyline having a "plot hole" because of Grimmel's reaction infuriates me. They kept on talking about it like they had a "gotcha moment". Simple common sense would go a long way with things like these.
That and the fact that one of the characters literally says "We've got your favourite bait" implying that Grimmel already knew the light fury existed. They were just either talking over that part or missed it entirely . . .
The light fury is a variation of the nightfury, they are the same species but are different from each other. Nightfuries adapted to the night and lightfuries adapted to the day hence why they are white and hide in clouds
thanks to you guys i have got the chance to re experience this masterpiece trilogy and im forever grateful for it. I watched all the movies when i was 12-13 and i didn't remember much except Stoic's death and Toothless leaving in this movie. Ive rewatched all 3 thanks to you guys and now i can actually appreciate how fantastic these movies were. It really shows that Dreamworks were always the best. This movie is easily in my top 5 animated movies with KFP 3, Megamind and Puss in boots the last wish. Thx guys.
Fun fact is that toothless used to turn invisible before meeting Hiccup. He did that in the first movie and I think they mentioned that in the show, too. It was all before he lost his tale and able to fly in order to perform that ability.
That makes no sense it was never shown in the first movie or mentioned in any of the shows. Also in this movie you see him try to copy the lightfury and use his plasma blasts to turn invisible but it doesn't work then he learns to use the lightning to do it. If he did it before meeting hiccup he wouldn't have been trying to do it with plasma blasts after meeting the lightfury
This is why you couldn't see him flying in the air before Hiccup fired at him, but you were able to hear him soaring, while the camera was panning towards an empty night sky with stars @Echoless . He was invisible. 🫥 The movie makers were so genius for doing that and seems like many didn't take notice. That's why he was able to do it with the blast on his first time out flying again. It was the first time he performed that in front of the viewers though. He doesn't need lightning like the light furry. This is why even before the lightfurry went invisible, I already knew toothless could, since watching the first movie. It's a subtle hint that always stuck with me.
I don't think so tbh, I always took it as the fact that he's dark and blends in with the night sky. He has natural camo. All the Night Furies at that point had been wiped out for all we know so my theory is that Toothless had never been taught his own abilities. Just like how Hiccup's Mom unlocked sharper turns for him by pressing on that one point on his neck. And you COULD see him flying in the sky before Hiccup shot him down actually, you just had to look closer. You could see stars being covered up by his movement, same is true for the one shot of the night sky before the Dreamworks title in the first movie. I'm not gonna tell you what to believe, that's up to you. I'm just stating facts on the details I've noticed from rewatching these movies many times.
Well a Light Fury is a like a different species but similar. I'm not entirely sure how they are different exactly, maybe like cousins or distantly related. Also with Toothless and the Light Fury can go invisible because of their scales.
Super glad you watched all of the movies in the trilogy, you should definitely watch the tv show series as well! It continues off the first movie and connects with the second movie in a amazing way!!!
There actually isn't a 4th one coming, but a live action remake scheduled for 2025. And if they make a sequel for this like that one netflix show thats in the future, I'm going to be PISSED! Imo, This is one of the most perfect endings a film has had and got me teary eyed like a baby.
Dean DeBlois states that the Light Fury is a variation of Night Fury rather than a separate species. This implies that the Light Fury could be a subspecies of the Night Fury, a classification under that of 'species' allowing them to be similar enough to mate, but different enough to be unique.
Was fun to see you react to both of DreamWorks' best trilogies. Once again, here to recommend Dragons: The Series and Race to the Edge if you want more of your HTTYD fill.
There are about three theories about the relationship between light and night furies. One is that they are both a subspecies of an older gray species. Two, the night fury is a subspecies of the light fury (this is the official one but I like it the least). And three the night fury is a hybrid its self. In the first movie the night fury was described as the offspring of lightning and death. In the series there is a blackish dragon that shoots electricity called the shrill, and in Norse culture White is the color that symbolizes death. So the third theory is that night furies are hybrids of shrill and light fury that established into its own group before being hunted down.
The fourth movie is going to be a live action remake of the first one. There’s a short film for Christmas that is amazing called How To Train Your Dragon: Homecoming. You should watch that one too. I highly recommend
HTTYD is just a masterpiece, no other way to put it. I grew up watching the movies and loved them then, still love them now. When the third one came out, I went to see it in theaters and bawled my eyes out.
There was a five-year time jump between movie one and two, and then there's only really a year that's passed between the second installment and the third.
You guys should try watching the shows, they explain a TON of what happens between the first movie and the second movie, from how the vikings settled in with the dragons to how Gobber and Stoick got their dragons, and also holds some of the franchise's best villains as well
Answers to questions/comments made in the video: - Despite the kiss Astrid gave Hiccup at the end of the first movie, they didn't get together then. They got together during the Netflix series "Race to the Edge", when they were 19-ish; so it's been about 2 years. - "Snotlout's about to be step-daddy." Which is a yucky thought when you think that, in the original books, Snotlout was Hiccup's COUSIN. It was on his dad's side, but still, ew lol. - The Light Fury IS a separate, but similar, species of dragon. Light Furies are sort of a sub-species of Night Furies; think of Night Furies as wolves and Light Furies as dogs. - The Light Fury becomes 'invisible' (cloaks herself) by heating up her scales (hence the blast she makes and flies through, causing them to take on mirror-esque properties. - "I would've taken it out for a test run first." Astrid mentioned Hiccup had tried this once before. This is shown in the short film "Gift of the Night Fury", which I highly recommend you watch. - The 'poison' the Deathgrippers are spitting is actually acid, which itself catches fire when exposed to oxygen, hence why it sets everything around it on fire too. Their venom is separate. - "Dragon sperm!" Oh my gods 🤣 those 'dragon sperm' are a species of dragon called Fireworm. You should see the Fireworm Queen; you wouldn't be calling them dragon sperm anymore hahaha. - Yeah, since Toothless became the Alpha above ground, dragons can now sense that he's an Alpha. Therefore, when he entered the Hidden World, the dragons that resided there happily took him on as their King. - Yeah, TJ Miller was the original voice actor for Tuffnut. He was fired because 1) he called in a fake bomb threat in 2018, and was subsequently arrested for that, and 2) he was accused of having become violent during a sexual encounter with a former girlfriend back in college, the details of which surfaced in 2017 with the rise of the Me Too movement. - Afraid there isn't a 4th movie. I wish there was, but this is the final movie in the franchise (at least, the final full length movie). - The epilogue at the end is set 9 years after the main part of the movie, so Hiccup, Astrid, and Toothless are all 30 now. Hiccup and Astrid kids are called Zephyr (girl, 5ish years old) and Nuffink (boy, 3ish years old). - Toothless and the Light Fury's children are a new crossbreed species known - adorably - as Night Lights. Their names are Dart (female, mostly black with a white belly and inner head nubs), Pouncer (male, mostly white with black accents), and Ruffrunner (male, mostly black with a white belly and outer head nubs).
@@Beeba10 Definitely xD I used to be waaay more in to it and knew a lot of the info myself but over the years I've forgotten most of it now except the main events of the films of course xD

funfact hiccup`s self proclaimed blood brother has a scorpion dragon, called triple strike. alongside a gronkle same dragon as fishlegs. the brother, dagger the deranged. was originally a antagonist and chief of the berserker tribe. and was obsessed with hiccup after tricking and betraying him by keeping his dragons a secrets. a lot of things happened and he bonded with a gronkle which is are basically pugs but dragon. it made him calm down a lot. then he and hiccup saves the scorpion dragon, which he could relate with and tamed him.
15:45 it’s because female Night Fury’s aren’t actually Night Fury’s at all they are Light Fury’s all actual Female Night Fury’s if they ever existed are extinct
In the tv show (i think it was 3 seasons? Each season holding a different sub name, but times between 1st and 2nd movie) there was a funny kinda throw away line were Astrid says "ya my aunt was banished, she had to sail to the edge of the world. But i guess she couldnt find it cause she kept showing up on the other side of the island " 😂 proving what these guys was questioning, no this world isnt flat
There is no fourth movie as of yet, however there is a live action version of the first movie set to be released in 2025 that is in the works. There are also several TV series and two short films. They are: Riders/Defenders of Berk Dragons Race to the Edge Gift of the Night Fury Dragons: Homecoming Dragons: Nine Realms. Nine Realms is the only series without the original characters as it takes place 1300 years after the original events of HTTYD The Hidden World. The two main characters are a 14 year old boy, Tom Kullerson and a Night Light Dragon, Thunder. Tom is a direct descendant of Hiccup and Astrid and Thunder is a direct descendant of Toothless and Light Fury so it does connect to the original in a way.
It’s not that the vikings of Berk don’t respect Hiccup as Chief. He just has a different style of leadership than his father that inspires more comradery.
I just finished this movie and can I just say that this is one of the best, if not the best DreamWorks movie franchise ever! Each movie has been a masterpiece from start to finish and going back to rewatch all of them is kind of making me hype for the live action remake. I'm just hoping that this new version we're getting will be just as good as the movies are.
This goodbye ending was planned since the first movie. Because in the original novel it always start with Hiccup saying "There were dragons when I was a kid" so the director wanted to keep that. I remember he specifically said the last movie of httyd is gonna be goodbye ending and I'm glad they stuck with this one and httyd 3 will be the last dragon triology. Unfortunately, I think they changed their minds to make the fourth one, probably because of money. So..I'm kinda skeptical about the fourth one since even their recent httyd tv series is not doing so well because of bad story writing and very obvious cash grabbing attempt.
I am so happy you guys watched all 3 movies. The light fury and the night fury are 2 different species, toothless is the last night fury. the night fury and the light fury are basically complete opposites of each other. if you look at them closely, like, toothless has rough scales while the light fury has smooth scales, toothless has points on the end of his wings (kinda like a bat) while the light fury doesn't and more. as for how they disappear, the light fury uses her plasma blast to heat up her scales which gives her a transparent look. as for toothless, because he has black scales he needs to generate a lot more heat, which is why he uses lightning. the way this happens is, he uses his spines on his back to act as a lightning rod to draw the lightning to him. he moves his spines at a certain frequency to generate the heat which then acts as a lightning rod so the lightning can hit toothless and heat up his scales.
There is a half hour movie that name is " How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming" And it tells you about 10 years after these happened and you can see why they go to see them in the end of the movie in this short film. It is really fun reccomed you to watch it❤❤🎉🎉
There's multiple spin offs you guys should watch. riders of berk, defenders of berk, and race to the edge all take place before the 2nd movie. All others you should just ignore.
Films were meant to be a trilogy they now have a new tv series called Dragons the nine realms despite people being negative about it I personally quite like it set thousands of years after the 3rd movie a science team put up a base in a fissure in 21st century earth where there's a mysterious spot that the children of the series are forbidden to investigate but of course the protagonist Tom Kullersen (who is later discovered to be Hiccups descendant) isn't going to follow instructions from the adults he goes into the forbidden place where he meets a Night Light descendant of Toothless and the Light Fury who he later names Thunder. He has an asian friend Ashley who Tom later introduces to Thunder and the hidden world and she gains an ice and fire two headed asian looking dragon she dubs Wu & Wei and later more friends of theirs learn of the dragons and get dragons of their own all while working behind their parents backs to make sure the dragons remain secret. There's also plenty of callbacks to the movie trilogy where the team also make dragon armour with their dragons scales on it, discover a nightfury emblem on a viking helmet, find the book of dragons & also find a cave mural of Hiccup,Astrid, their kids and Toothless as well as Hiccups prosthetic mechanical leg.
There's not a 4th movie to the series. They are making a live action version though, I'll resist passing judgment on if I don't like it until I see it. But I'm kind of scared that the message of the movies will be lost.
As far as the camo goes they’re scales act like mirrors they make their scales super hot and it causes them to be promenade reflective hope that explains it
Light furies are acually a separate species if you go back to the scene where they are in the hidden world and courting there are some other light furies. Also Dragos bewilderbeast

Nightlights its kinda cute😂
I came here to say this!!
how about "Dark Light" ?
Awwww... ive always wondered if the night fury's advantage is being able to fly under the cover of the night, what would mating with a white version mean for their survival in the wild once the babies are born with white splotches
Putting it out there, Hiccup trusted the tail to work because there's a Christmas special film called "Gift of the Nightfury" where he did that. That's why Astrid says "you've done it before, he didn't want it."
In Gift of the Nightfury he experimented until he got a tail that works without a rider working well. And in the end of the movie Toothless dragged out his old saddle and smashed the automated tail because he liked putting his trust in Hiccup and didn't want to fly without him.
This!!

He isn't decended from a skrill , you don't have to be a skrill decended to have lighting abilities
@@Draconic_Lorecraft Maybe that's why I don't remember because it was never said within the show.
@@d0decadiceProbably is
Little detail/headcannon that I wanna point out:
The invisible ability is a power that I think both Nightfuries and Lightfuries are taught to uses by their parents from a young age (I assume this because the nightlight babies are seen doing it during the last scenes).
Specifically the show race to the edge bc there was one that takes place before that series but it wasn’t as good
@Captain Teeko Riders and Defenders of Berk are two halfs of the same coin.
Would be unfortunate if they didn't, so many comments asking for it on every part.
But never touch nine realm
Fun Fact: in the original script Drago was supposed to return as a good guy.
After his defeat he washed up on a deserted island whose only other resident was a particularly aggressive dragon. Being wounded and starving he couldn’t control it as easily as he did other dragons. In his attempts to dominate it so he could escape he unintentionally formed a bond with it. The idea was scrapped about halfway through production for being to complex.
...I feel like I hear that one before and cant quite pinpoint where
Also I heard of the one where instead of the Light Fury, they had a baby fury for Toothless to take care of an then eventually discover more.
The color coded rider suits got me thinking, "Go go, Dragon Rangers!"
1.i read somewhere that the Lightfury can go invisible because her scales reflect the surroundings
2.The Mating dance that Toothless did was so weird because he is to human like
3. He also went around the traps because the Lightfury warned him at the first meeting
4.Drago is Stoic if he would have continued hating dragons and Grimmel is Hiccup if he would have killed Toothless
5.Some people think that its the Lightfurys fault that the Dragons dissapeared but its not true, she would have stayed but Hiccup finally realised that it would never end and that its just not safe
6. The Lightfury is not A white Nightfury she is a subSpecies of the Nightfury
7.some people think that the Lightfury is just Smooth and glittery because she is a Female but thats not true, she has scales and The glitter is not glitter, those are scales
8.we Saw other Lightfurys in the Hidden world (and Dragos Alpha too), The Male Lightfurys look the same and im sick of people thinking that its just because she is Female and that its all her fault
9.and not to forget she kicked Hiccup off and always flew away because she is Scared, she Got captured and hunted her whole life and some people are mad at her for behaving the way she does)
10. Hiccup already made a Self Flying Tail but Toothless didnt want it so that was kind of the Test Try (it worked well)
And its always funny how Hiccup and Astrid say they are going to search for Ruffnut but then they search for Toothless and completely forget about Ruff and just dont care and i goddamn Love the Lightfury so much
Thank you for this, it’s crazy how many people could miss all that.
It's good to see someone who actually PAYS ATTENTION and can use their brain. I've been preaching this forever
I never realized your fourth point, you’re so right
Perfect!
night furies are very related to white furies, but they are two different species, this is confirmed by the creators. In nature, their hybrids are found because these two species are so related that, despite the differences, they often formed pairs.
Yeah they’re a subspecies, too different to be one species but not so different they can’t breed together
when Astrid says that Hiccup already tried giving Toothless automatic tail, it happened in christmas special
“It’s happy, it’s not our happy” perfect way to describe it
I love how we finally see why the night fury is called the unholy offspring of lightning and death itself!
Httyd 2: Drago/Stoicks enemy
httyd 3: Grimmel/Hiccups enemy.
Parts of Hiccup's ending monologue come directly from the book series! The opening lines in fact!
The thing with Grimal and rhe Lightfury, is they said his “favorite bait”, which implies that he’s used her as bait before, and she’s the only one he’s allowed to live
There's other lightfuries in the hidden world that part probably meant grimmel used other furies in general to attract nightfuries
Though this is just speculation on my part
if you guys want to learn more about this world you'll want to watch the animated serieses, it MASSIVELY builds the world up with tons of dragons
This is probably the funniest first minute of one of your videos I’ve seen this far. "The Hidden Dub” made my day 😂
The bulk of the Hidden World is only a year after the 2nd movie.
@@aaronyaygerPerfect comment right here.
I’m pretty sure he does not use the sword for attacking I think he uses them for dragons cause he waves it on their faces and they get intrigued by it so it’s like a taming method as we have seen him use dragon knowledge to tame and stop dragons in the first movie.
This movie series was one of the best moments in my childhood . Seeing this movie in 3D was Fuckin amazing it was like magic.
Guys, the heartbreak and wholesomeness I felt seeing Hiccup and Toothless seperate was like nothing I've felt before. I watched *everything* this franchise had to offer and it was as if I was Hiccup, feeling everything he was feeling in that moment. Their bond, their friendship is... beautiful, and my heart can't take it.
This trilogy is my number 1 favourite, and always will be. It made me cry a river everytime-- ;_;
Dragons = Felines
Night Fury = Lion
Light Fury = Tiger
The babies are called Ligers.
They were just either talking over that part or missed it entirely . . .
Totally agree! their names are different, one is Night Fury the other one is Light Fury. They're different.
Even after all these years I still wish I could of lived in a place like Berk with all those dragons.
Have you played school of dragons? I think you'd enjoy it if you want to experience living on berk
(At 1:07:20) we call the triplets, "Night-Lights"
The light fury is a variation of the nightfury, they are the same species but are different
from each other. Nightfuries adapted to the night and lightfuries adapted
to the day hence why they are white and hide in clouds
YESSSSSSSSS I haven't really found anything entertaining just playing minecraft but watching the boys react to movie really mad my day
thanks to you guys i have got the chance to re experience this masterpiece trilogy and im forever grateful for it.
@@ViaCRoz that simply isn't true but if the theory makes you happy then feel free to believe it^^
@@echoless3474 , if you claim what I say is a theory, which is a claim to be true, then, you can't say I'm wrong.
Also with Toothless and the Light Fury can go invisible because of their scales.
its probably like West Highland terriers, and Scotties. both basically the same type of dog, but different colors.
@@dragonsman4733 makes sense.

This implies that the Light Fury could be a subspecies of the Night Fury, a classification under that of 'species' allowing them to be similar enough to mate, but different enough to be unique.
the 4th one is actually gonna be a live action movie of probably the first one.
No, the 4th is a NETFLIX animated series!!!
It was funny to see their reaction with them believing there's a sequel to this one. 😂
If you want to see more about toothless and hiccup kids you can see the Homecoming short is about 30-40min if I’m not mistaken
fun fact: the last line of this film, so hiccups dialogue is the first line of the first book!
I cried like a baby at the ending
FYI guys, there is no 4th part of the story…. This is the end of the story- in 2025 they are releasing a LIVE ACTION version.
Hiccups beard at the end...that was shown in the first 20 seconds of the trailer and I remember the internet going crazy 🤣
You guys should try watching the shows, they explain a TON of what happens between the first movie and the second movie, from how the vikings settled in with the dragons to how Gobber and Stoick got their dragons, and also holds some of the franchise's best villains as well
I love how since the second film's finale Toothless basically appears and uses Conqueror's Haki on all other dragon colonies.
Who else wants them to watch the old Netflix series 'race to the edge'
Answers to questions/comments made in the video:
- Despite the kiss Astrid gave Hiccup at the end of the first movie, they didn't get together then.
Think I'm gonna stick with calling Fireworms what my brain came up with when I first saw them instead, "Fireflights" xD Nice list of info btw

funfact hiccup`s self proclaimed blood brother has a scorpion dragon, called triple strike. alongside a gronkle same dragon as fishlegs.
the brother, dagger the deranged. was originally a antagonist and chief of the berserker tribe. and was obsessed with hiccup after tricking and betraying him by keeping his dragons a secrets.
a lot of things happened and he bonded with a gronkle which is are basically pugs but dragon. it made him calm down a lot. then he and hiccup saves the scorpion dragon, which he could relate with and tamed him.

But i guess she couldnt find it cause she kept showing up on the other side of the island " 😂
proving what these guys was questioning, no this world isnt flat
There is no fourth movie as of yet, however there is a live action version of the first movie set to be released in 2025 that is in the works. There are also several TV series and two short films. They are:
Riders/Defenders of Berk
Dragons Race to the Edge
Gift of the Night Fury
Dragons: Homecoming
Dragons: Nine Realms.
I think you guys are a bit confused, there isn't any 4th movie in development, but rather a live action adaptation of the series coming later
8:55 fun fact: the hobgobbler grunts and screams are voiced by the directors Boston terrier.
She’s a LightFury 😂❤
36:41 Toothless hit 88mph 😂
theres a whole show too that really expands on the characters and the lore of httyd
No number 4 I'm afraid. John Powell (the score composer for all 3 films) has announced a live action remake of HTTYD will be coming in 2025.
41:12 HEY H-MAN, his “sword” isn’t an actual sword, it’s just a two prongs merged at the top with a gap in between so he can disarm enemies
Guys There is NO 4TH MOVIE.. sadly... But a Live action movie of this franchise is coming..
There is a half hour movie that name is " How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming"
And it tells you about 10 years after these happened and you can see why they go to see them in the end of the movie in this short film. It is really fun reccomed you to watch it❤❤🎉🎉
The light fury isn't a night Fury, just closely related.
FYI, for those wondering, they aren't making a fourth, they are making a live action remake
There's multiple spin offs you guys should watch. riders of berk, defenders of berk, and race to the edge all take place before the 2nd movie. All others you should just ignore.
They need to watch deese.😃
The "4th movie" is a short special tha takes place before hiccup and his family sailed to the hidden world
Films were meant to be a trilogy they now have a new tv series called Dragons the nine realms despite people being negative about it I personally quite like it set thousands of years after the 3rd movie a science team put up a base in a fissure in 21st century earth where there's a mysterious spot that the children of the series are forbidden to investigate but of course the protagonist Tom Kullersen (who is later discovered to be Hiccups descendant) isn't going to follow instructions from the adults he goes into the forbidden place where he meets a Night Light descendant of Toothless and the Light Fury who he later names Thunder.
Its funny them calling scorpion dragon while knowing that they dont know triple strike.
22:40 the fire sword is explained in the series
Does it even have a blade? I don't think it does but I haven't seen the series all the way through
My theory is that light furies are subspecies as they fill same niche and are closely related, but still not the same
27:29 He did infact hold up 3 fingers lol
36:38 - 'The unholy offspring of LIGHTNING and death itself'.
those fuckers knew what to do from the first movie
At 34:52 when one of u guys said to do a test on the tail wing first to make shore that it was ok, but he didnt need to bc basically hiccup has already made toothless a tail before in one of the Httyd Christmas episode and he flew away for abite but then he came back then after toothless destroy after bc he liked flying with hiccup
Remember this phrase from the first movie? "The unholy offspring of lightning and death itself."
Interestingly, Snoutlout is Hiccups cousin.
So he would be next in line of there was no heir in Hiccups line.
Grimmel’s european and possibly from the continent that’s why his voice is so much more distinct than the other Nordic voices in the franchise
Actually there is a homecoming which takes place before they get on to the boat to look for toothless
Fun fact: Toothless and the light furry , are In fact different species , you can see more of the light furry species in the hidden world , so their babies are a whole knew type of specie called Night Lights
