The arrow technique is pretty awesome, we've dubbed this type a "swoopy arrow" at my work and I'll plan to pull up illustrator next time it's needed instead of doing it manually.
The sparkle, heart, and spiral are going to be specially useful for me. I'm a digital artist (not a designer), but drawing those shapes like this shorten so much of the process instead of fully drawing them by hand with the pen tool! Thank you. I'm glad I found your channel.
Hey Dansky, Thank you so much. You've been very helpful. I wanted to ask you, which version of illustrator have you been using? My illustrator is acting up.
Just in case anyone would rely on this: That is absolutely not an archimedian spiral, the curvature does not change smoothly. Might be okay if you just need something spiral-y looking, but unfortunately there are no shortcuts if you actually need an Archimedian. (The other trick I sometimes see uses the twist tool, same as the lollipop swirl. That one would work in theory, but breaks down due to compounding errors due to lack of precision when calculating the new path). (The pucker/bloat star in the beginning is nice though)
Note with the droplet make sure you don't leave a long tail at the top, erase quite a bit of it, otherwise your don't get the rounding options from the direct selection tool.
Why are my lines in the twist tool not smooth? There are no settings that I can find to adjust this. And the smooth tool doesn't work. I'm using AI 2024.
There's generally a lot of ways to do the same thing in Illustrator. Makes little difference in terms of speed when using keyboard shortcuts, and sometimes just depends which technique someone prefers to use.
@@ForeverDansky would you believe its with a rectangle? I am working on launching an illustrator channel and this is one of the tutorials in the pipeline.

Any arrows you create can also be added to the "Graphic Styles" panel and applied to any path with a single click! 🙌

Clicking alt/option resizes it centrally instead of stretching from one side

same happens to my lines they are not at all smooth and my Iatest updated version of Illustrator keeps crashin sometimes when I use this tool.
Why not just use scissors on the top and bottom anchor points of the ellipse to cut it in two? Only two clicks instead of... how many have you done?

thanks but there is a much easier way to create a heart
There’s a lot of different ways, depending on the type of heart shape 👍
