You are on the tropical dry forest (just that it was rainy season). That part of the country is very dry most of the year. That is why there are cactus. As you move to the east and south it becomes the tropical rainforest.
Ah! Ok I am laughing because in 2 episodes from now we have a whoooole thing about the soda stream. Short version: no I just carry a bunch of regular tanks and try to get them filled where I can, and sometimes it’s silly 😆stay tuned!!
@@MakingOurWay 6yrs of going to Jaco area with my family. This year we fly into Liberia and stay in Tamarindo (north) 2 nights and then to Esterillos Oeste (near jaco) for 9 nights on the beach. While traveling that area, fish! Mahi are biting around any floating debris. The tuna are out on the edge. Im sure you are seeing much better weather as you are seeing the storms are becoming less frequent. As I’m sure your aware, there’s not too many anchorage’s that are not in a swell. There’s some awesome zip lines, waterfalls, atv adventures, fishing, hiking, from where you are to and beyond quepos. Enjoy sailing and look out for long lines…..
Good doggie parents!..AND...exactly where were you..(maybe I missed it)..other channels have found the Costa Rician government somewhat unfriendly to "cruisers"...Just curious.. Thanks..Great Vid.

Great video.
Happy Birthday Captain 🎉🎂

Happy belated birthday Mike. I'm sure y'all were a hit at the boat show
Lightning + boat = not a comfortable situation. A beautiful place to enjoy in between storms.
It sure was!

jurassic park
Totally!
Costa Rica is the country with the greatest biodiversity on the planet, beating the number of species per metre of the Amazon even.
I noticed the sodastream in the galley. As a lover of highly carbonated water and a sailor I need to know what you use for co2. Big tank and adapter?

What part of CR are you in?
Lots of fun and yummy fish down there.
That was Santa Elena in the very northern corner. It was unreal!

This bay is Santa Elena a bit north of the Playa del Coco area. We didn’t have any issues, check in and out was a bit of a process but it no big deal.
