I single speeded my airdrop edit over this past summer with the same reverse tensioner. Spring was not strong enough chain slap was terrible was so happy to get my deore 12 speed derallieur back on. Hopefully u have a better experience
After braking my carbon hardtail 1x11 mtn bike and then had a chance to buy a single speed dream biuld. I did it and it is soooo much funnnnnn!!! Coaching with and riding the bike rocks! So many times I been asked if I would have one on a full suspension. I AM EXCITED TO SEE YOU RIDE THIS AND WHAT YOU THINK! ❤ the video brother!!!
what timing, i snapped my 12speed chain the other day, less than 200 miles on the thing too. makes me consider going to 11 speed for the stronger chain but microspline makes that expensive. the build is looking great! gotta love the simplicity of single speed
No this is relatable because I was going to single speed my MTB but the cheapest chain tensioner was a new/old stock Shimano zee so now I run a 10 speed lol
Kinda interesting that the frame is 130 mm rear and was "designed" for a 28t chainring... the pivot location is not idea. Try it with a 34. The suspension and pedaling performance will likely be better.
How small of a cog can you use on the wheels mfg setup? Seems like the bonus of xd would be to go very small (9-10t). 18t is easy enough with a standard driver.
Mom said if U can't say something nice about somebody's bike, don't say anything at all. So I guess I can't say it's a sin against "the spirit of Single Speed" ; -)
"He didn't even ride it!" - My 4 year old son
Mr. Relatable is looking like a solid Single Speed Machine with the SOLO-XD installed! ⚙
I just did the ss conversion on my v3 Bronson the other day. Totally agree about using a derailer feeling just wrong. Must be the bmxer in me.
Also can't stomach the sl*****ro word. But now you've got me worrying about the 12spd chain on mine lol
Love my SS. Great winter ride.
If someone said that Spindatt would play the Swedish song Bullfest, I would absolutely not believe it. It's really really random. I like it!
Pulled the trigger on one of these frames today. Spec'd it as a short travel xc given the terrain and trails I ride. Looking forward to the build👍
Omg this is a dope conversion that i had no idea was possible on my marino squish..

Aheadset Hollow cap/starnut.
$10. Hollow oversize bolt for passing cable through.
I build a single speed 160mm endure shes a beast of a bike , love the simplicity of it , used mine for a bike park bike 👌🔥🔥
Like the silent ealk off!😊
This is a sick bike.
Once you use the thread cutter for the one-up tool, you should be able to find a corresponding bmx top cap to fit the threads.
Or just the 1up one
@JMcGwyer huge price difference. If you're not going to carry the tool, it seems unnecessary to spend more.
Big fan of single speed bikes.

you built this for me? you are so kind!
Sir, I enjoyed your entertaining, and informative video sir.
Bar spin for the win.
The Canadian goose @ 3:47
That tensioner wasnt strong enough for my slopeduro. Looks nice though. Chain slap nightmare. Gonna try a zee mech
Tinker Tuesday? I like F around Friday!
you can drill a hole in a top cap to route the brake 👀

35.2 ounces is really good for a full suspension bike 😮
2:50 I wish my son's Marino weighed 35.2 ounces!
I can relate…now I want to build a single speed lol
BULLFEST BULLFEST HELA DAAAAAN!!!

"I've been meaning to, just... uh... yeah.."
Are we best friends now?!
If xc this setup you have, you think the chain would hold up? Im 210 lbs
pump track time 😊
a little Swedish to start the video with, nice ; )
Makes my quads sore just look'n at it
you really gotta find a better option than that chain tensioner. it just looks like a geared bike with a tiny cassette
what make frame is that?
Marino
Seems that bike needs to be tested in an urban environment. I hear stairsets of doom calling. 😉
every bikes a bmx if you try hard enough. 😏

Fiddle Friday?
pleaase cut the chain 😂
How do you incorporate things you find joy in, into your life, without becoming homeless?
It hurts to see that long-ass chain
Haha what’s up with the Swedish song? Bullfest bullfest hela dan
If you know how to shift 12 speed chains don’t break
