Hello! I just found your channel yesterday. I got a part in our college's christmas musical. The first scene when I come in my character is panicked and then she is left alone looking through a box of things from when she was little, which brings back a lot of sad memories. I don't think that I'm the best actor, so I'm trying to find tips on how to make it "honest" like you said. Do you have any videos on how to be panicked/sad or crying without it looking cheesy or fake?
Hi Ashley, great question. This is very specific and I would highly recommend making a coaching session via skype. You can reach us at 323.962.8077 for all the info you need. We are happy to help you nail your role in the musical. We are also having a promo right now for Black Friday until November 30th and you get 30% off any session for new students.
Good morning Brad, I just heard a great You Tube clip by Jim Rohan. He has great advice for setting goals that can be short and long term. It is Morning Motivation. I hope you and your students find it helpful
hey thanks brad for this amazing video i have many questions two of which are that like how we can understand what actually is script demanding do we have to frame the situation in our mind and one more thing like it is like that actors get script before hand so do actors practice it at their home so that they may feel more next day on set.
Hey Prem, we're glad you found the video helpful! Unless you are "cold reading" a scene, it's important to take the time to fully go through the script line by line so you can understand what is happening in the scene, and what your character's emotion and objective are. That will absolutely help you be more effective on set. Hope this helps! -The Heller Approach Staff
I dont like you saying "acting correctly". I mean what means correctly? Is acting according to Brecht not correct acting, because he tells to actor to step out of the character on stage and be the actor apart from the character. I think there is no correct acting, in my opinion. Everything is and feels different. But otherwise great videos!! Keep it up! :)

Thank you so much, Brad, I have learned a lot on your videos! Could you make a video talking about how to cry on scenes, please, that's a big problem for me! :)
yes please
If I live in the UK can I still audition for movies in the USA? I’ve never had experience either but I really love acting. Also how old is too old to start acting ?

Good morning Brad,
I just heard a great You Tube clip by
Jim Rohan. He has great advice for setting goals that can be short and long term.
It is Morning Motivation.
I hope you and your students find it helpful
Thanks for sharing!
hey thanks brad for this amazing video i have many questions two of which are that like how we can understand what actually is script demanding do we have to frame the situation in our mind and one more thing like it is like that actors get script before hand so do actors practice it at their home so that they may feel more next day on set.
@@thehellerapproach ok means do actors practice at their home before performing the scene on set.
But what about when you are doing a dramatic theatre thats noy like every day life
I dont like you saying "acting correctly". I mean what means correctly? Is acting according to Brecht not correct acting, because he tells to actor to step out of the character on stage and be the actor apart from the character. I think there is no correct acting, in my opinion. Everything is and feels different.
But otherwise great videos!! Keep it up! :)
Arnt you from the movie bench warmers
