I bought the 40 for 250$CA. . . when I see 500$ for the 45, it was a hard pass . . . 45 tasted like the Highwood TWENTY 20y and Centennial 21 yo, both are also 100% corn, but TWENTY may have been finished in sherry cask or so. . . . Cheers ! ( we are doomed in Ontario : all prices went up 10-30% then another tax raise on APril 1 / 2023 in 3 weeks an EXTRA +6.3% ! ! )
One time, I was on the hunt for some five year old Ninety (From Highwood distillers in High River, Alberta) and I walked into one shop. The salesman said that he didn't have any, but asked me if I would try Mellow Corn instead. To be frank and honest, I preferred the five yaer old Ninety to Mellow Corn. Now, it would be interesting to try this 45 year old Chronicles side by side with the five year old Ninety, and it just so happens that I happen to have some of each... Incidentally, I prefer the five year old Ninety to the 20 year old ninety, and the 20 year old ninety would also be an interesting thing to try next to the 45 year old Chronicles...
I need to try this when I eventually visit...I just turned 46 so it's like a drinkable younger brother.
Chances are that you will get to try it as I will not be reaching for it often...
I was hoping you’d do the scotch. That stuff is unique in its own right.
I have done many scotch whiskies... Which one were you referring to?
$500 for Canadian whisky?!?!?! Lol. Yes, cut it off.
Fortunately, this is the last in the series...
Quig without a beard is like whisky without flavour...
THERE you go...
is this one worth the price?
So far, no... If it opens up enough it may be worth the price eventually, but I doubt that it will get there.
@@foodquig Quite the price to pay for that. Maybe it'll open up incredibly.

I liked the 40. It tasted better than this, but to be fair the 40 had a chance to open up... I will give this one some time.
Why is Canadian so old compared to American. It has to be the climate, but I'm lazy so I rather be told.
To please dear old mom, I think you should shave the beard and wear a cheap toupée.
Now wouldn't that be appropriately tacky?
Mellow Corn might be better. Lol. I like the sweetness of corn whiskey, but it dont compare to a good bourbon.
