Nice review. Plus and Minus Included. That is really awesome
Very helpful. Thank you much!
Thanks for watching! :)
@@ScottDumas Which company do you think is making the best lenses for the phones? Who do you think has the best anamorphic lens?
To be fully honest, I haven't tried any others yet. Mostly because of the cost. I think Moment is very well known and well liked and I'd assume it is because they make nice lenses, but there are definitely other companies like Shiftcam, for example, that make nice looking lenses as well.
@@ScottDumas Ok, cool. I respect that. Thanks again!
Ulanzi is killing it. WIth this and their anamorphic lens. Quality at affordable prices. Also you can easily mount the lens onto a cage like the Zecti and Beastgrip. What gimble is that you're using in this video?
That's true... I didn't have a case/cage to mount the lens on but I'm sure I'd get much better results that way... I'll have to try it out :) The gimbal was the Freevision Vilta M Pro :)
The funny thing is, sometime ago a friend of mine gave me a couple of phone lenses to try and I did a video on them (not sure if you allow here links so I'll avoid posting) one of those lenses was about the same looks and feel with even the same case! everything was exactly the same except the name printed there. I would say this lens is quite nice for casual use but I still think that professionals can't really use only phones. in case of phone lenses, I heard that Moment are very good and also Sirui but didn't have the chance to try any of them.
BTW, don't forget you can attach that lens to the front facing camera as well, can be a good wider selfie camera or even used for vlogging (I know a RUclipsr who also lives in Japan ad uses such lens for that reason)
Haha I wouldn't be surprised if they're the same lens rebranded one way or the other. Happens quite a lot. I'd definitely like to try out something like the Moment lenses or even ShiftCam I've heard some good things about. I didn't think about the ability to use this on the front camera to be honest with you, but that's a good point. I even did some selfie style shooting with it (didn't end up using it) but used the rear camera so I couldn't see myself haha. Not too bright sometimes ;) I'll have to give it a try!
@@ScottDumas It's not that you weren't too bright, it's just that your usage of cameras is different, I was actually happy finally to see a professional put such lens to the test, now I wonder how good is that lens compared to let's say a 100yen shop lens (they've got those cheap ones too sometimes lol)
Haha... yeah actually that would be pretty interesting. I'll pick one of those up next time I see one and make a video, could be fun :)
I use Ulanzi cage which should help better seat and align the lens than the clip. At that price point, and based on the generally good quality of the footage you provided us, this looks like a good deal. Good work, and thank you for this review!
Thanks so much! And the cage will definitely be the way to go. I haven't been able to try it myself but that was pretty much my main and only significant complaint :)
@@ScottDumas -- Based on your review, I've ordered this lens. I'll try it out, and eventually post footage on my channel so we can see how it performs, e.g. whether or not any of the minor distortion issues are resolved due to the tighter lock-up with the cage.
@@Pollerizer Looking forward to it! Hope you enjoy :)
Thank you, Scott!
Very nice sharing
great images, but is there another universal clip option?
Thank you for your good review~ : ) I decide to buy ulanzi cause about this video.
Glad I could help! Hope you like it :)
good lens
Thank you. Moment Lens makes an excellent clip on lens for phones.
Yeah their lenses look great but I think you need to use their case to attach them right? I can imagine that would make it much easier to get them lined up correctly and therefore actually quicker to use, and I've heard really great things about their quality too. I'd love to try them out but haven't been able to get my hands on them yet
@@ScottDumas also Moment lenses cost fortune, If we're talking about amateur mobile phone videos.
Moment lenses are expensive 😭
thank you for sharing this video. finally, I can see the corner of the photo is poor. any suggestion for another wide-angle lens?
I wish I had one but I don't use lenses like this all that much personally. I know the Moment lenses are popular so probably pretty solid, and even having a cage that aligns this lens better might help though.
@@ScottDumas yep but Moment costs my two eyes.. (If it's 99U$ I pay like 500.. 'cause in my shitty country (Brazil) the dolar costs 5 times more, lol).. So.. there's ANY 30U$ good wide lens out there?? I don't think so but I'm searching a lil' bit..
Is this good for live selling in fb?
Great video! Does it have a 17mm universal mount? Cheers!
Thanks so much! I believe that it does but I don't have a case with that attachment to check it for sure.
Scott Dumas thank you for the reply. I will buy it
Hey Scott, do you think the clip would fit Huawei P40 Pro? Please reply. Thanks!
Hi! It looks like it should be possible but I have never tried it myself so I cannot say with 100% certainty.
@@ScottDumas i really hope it fits. Imagind what the photos and videos would look like
My lens are in the middle of the smartphone back with the finger print reader. Can this Len be used?
My guess would be probably not. I guess it would depend on the exact measurements, but the clip isn't huge so I doubt it would reach.
I would get a cage and use it with that. It works with the Beastgrip and it's cheaper competitor Zecti which is only $23
Can i use it on iphone 6s Plus?
Their website does list the 6s plus as compatible :)
Can i use it on iphone 11 pro max?
I'm not 100% sure it would fit ...the 11 isn't listed on their website as being compatible but I'm not sure if that's just an outdated list or not.
What are some higher quality , more serious phone lenses. And we almost all use a case. Thats a deal breaker
Depends on your budget I guess, but Moment lenses seem to be very popular. I haven't been able to try them myself but their popularity makes me feel like they must be pretty good. It requires their own case, but I think their cases are decent too from what I've seen.
i also have m pro ^_^
It's a great gimbal! :)
