That operation Nimrod figures and scene looks incredible..The water buffalo by Italeri has been on my want list for a bit and I’m gonna buy one even though it’s Italeri..Yes I like the disappointment that only comes with Italeri kits.!.. Great review as ever..All the best.!
Doesn’t it ever! If I could paint to do it justice I’d have one, but I think they may sell out at the show. Yes Italeri just bought one myself, makes you appreciate Tamiya afterwards though. 😂
We really do live in a golden age of modelling. Especially for a model builder like myself who doesn't build the stock standard stuff. So good to see all the oddball stuff. Happy modelling to all
Well I don't really know the answer to the question, back in 1980 I was still on active duty with the US Marine and on deployment to Japan. I do remember hearing about it but not anything specific other than the SAS teams had forced entry and rescued the hostage. On to your video, great one as always love the Mini-Art german 234-2 but not sure I want to build an interior. Except their M3 Stuart light tank series, still saving for one of those. Love your videos always excited to get the notification. Keep em coming.
Thanks Bob! I think they’ll do a version without the interior. Miniart love their detail. You’ve had some great experiences during your service years I can tell 🫡👍
@TheScaleModeler Oh yeah been around the block a time or two. Honestly being a US Marine for six years starting in the late 70's sent me on a path, that presented me with a lot of opportunities that few have. I am truly grateful for that.
I have SMS Lützow in 1/700 built. Rigging was quite something. The thought of doing rigging on a sailing ship like HMS Victory at this scale is terrifying.
Interestingly, or not, my maternal grandfathers brother was a big dog in the Metropolitan police force at the time and was involved in organising perimeter security during the embassy siege.
It is interesting. It captured everyone at the time being watched live on tv so many people remember watching it and where they were etc . Thanks for sharing 👍
Mind you some of the injections are as well! I was looking at a Tamiya 1/48 and after market add ons and that was coming in around 300 bucks- the after market was as expensive as the kit! Unfortunately the more unusual and bigger quality kits are getting pricey. Thanks for the comment it means a lot 👍
@@TheScaleModeler Well at least Tamiya has a reputation for precision parts. You get milked like Eduard (Brassin stuff that should be in the kit) but in the end there is a satisfying model. I'm still not on board with 3D printing being "just better" than injection molded plastic, especially when compared to the Tamiya wizards. The Lukgraph parts I've seen up close are a bit soft in detail. I hope they can get the cost down or the precision up because I LOVE their subjects. Speaking of which: love your format. I used to write the car news in my local newsletter. Thanks for including breaks for the different genres.
Hello Jim, My favorite modeling channel it looks like my 2025 modeling schedule is building up quickly, I do like that VW Bus, glad to see kits coming back with movable parts. Plus some new releases I wasn't familiar with, however there are so many new manufacturers coming out. I did discover a company I was unfamiliar with, MikroMir they had a kind of rare jet bomber the XB-51 I'd always want to put in my Century Series builds. I haven't seen any news on "our" B- 17 gunners, as I recall that was scheduled for a November release ? As always thanks for the modeling news. Cheers from the colonies Bob.
Hi Bob, thanks for the kind words and for always supporting the channel! I'm glad to hear your 2025 modelling schedule is filling up-sounds like it's going to be a busy year of builds. That VW Bus with the movable parts is definitely a fun kit to look forward to! Thanks for the heads-up on MikroMir it does have some unique kits, and the XB-51 would be an impressive addition to your Century Series lineup. It's always exciting to see these lesser-known manufacturers bringing rare subjects to life. As for the B-17 gunners, I'm still waiting for more news myself. Last I heard, it was still on track for a November release, but I'll keep an eye out and share any updates as soon as I get them. Thanks again for watching, and cheers from this side of the pond!
Speaking of Italeri. Does anyone out there know what's happening with their Higgins PT Boat, IT5622??? I've heard nothing since they announced a release a few yrs ago.

Well said!
Nice to hear from you again 😅. Greg 😊.
Thanks! 😃
Thx for showing
No problem

Great video 👍 just a note the the kp 1:72 spitfire is a mk 7 not a mk 8 as you stated
Thank you yes I picked up on that after uploading the video. Appreciated just the same
the UN VW looks very interssting for me :)
I thought so too!
I'm very interested to see how that new tool Scammel tank transporter compares against the, still very decent, vintage Airfix version
Same here! It’ll be great to see how the new tooling measures up

Sounds like a great build! Rigging in 1/700 is no joke. Doing it on HMS Victory at that scale would be next-level!
I have a small revell sailing ship that needs rigging but the instructions to rig it in the box are not good at showing where all the lines go

I think it was C Operation Nimrod
It is well done 👍
Dang! Those Lukograph 3D kits are a bit pricey. I don't think injection molds are obsolete just yet.
