At its core, Language is key for communication. While knowing English lets you connect globally, it's important not to neglect your mother tongue. A significant portion of your life will likely involve interacting with people in your own region, where your native language holds special importance.
The point is that English is no more a symbol of colonialism, but more of a language for international business. Having such a high number of English speakers definitely gives us an inherent advantage over countries like China in world trade, and it's not just me saying it, go to any international media and see the factors they list as India's advantages over China. It is easier to do business with us because of our English proficiency. But having said that, I also believe that we should be proud of our own mother tongues and use it more in our daily lives as well, since it's a question of our culture, history and tradition that defines who we are.

I think India should have only one official language English. Hindi should be discontinued altogether. Many of the states don't have their primary language as Hindi but in Centre level exams like UPSC there are two options Hindi & English people from Hindi-speaking states get an edge over those from non-Hindi-speaking states and this is simply intolerable. The Hindi-speaking states aren't even the large contributors to our economy but most of south Indian, non-Hindi-speaking states (Including Maharashtra) are literally economic powerhouses of the Indian economy, hence shouldn't they get priority over Hindi-speaking states?
One overlooked tendency is that political resistance movements are spearheaded not by the downtrodden poor but by the upper class or some form of elite.
English is a great lingua franca for India because of its neutrality and the fact that it will not give people of any ethnicity an edge over others in India. It is a great equalizer. This is something Hindi or Telugu or Bangla could never do.
@@cyke1234 it can't because it is natively spoken by a ton of people in India. It puts them at an advantage and threatens other languages. The reason Urdu worked in Pakistan is that there were no native Urdu speakers.
@@MichelleObamasBBC Hindi is nobody’s native language. Hindi speaking states don’t remember their mother tongue but historically they have their own native languages
@@cyke1234yet another reason why English is a better neutral language. The growth of influence of Hindi has led to many regional languages being diluted down into just dialects of Hindi in recent times. This slowly leads to death of these languages, and often times the literature and history of them. But English being totally different from the linguistic style, has less chance to corrupt the languages quality.

The problem of Regional languages of India is that they dont create new words for new items. Eg- What's the hindi equivalent of "Smartphone"? There's none. An item which we use everyday doesnt have a hindi transliteration. So directly or indirectly we have to force ourselves to learn English. Other regional languages too have the same problem.
@@kamalkant6135 Not for all items. The train does have a name(रेलगाड़ी) but for some nobody uses it, not even Indian Railways. Our education system also doesnt teach new words , and instead is still stuck in 1950's.

Coz their great grandfathers fought against British with Gandhiji and hence learnt Hindi...
This BS notion that people get discriminated against only because they can’t speak or speak poor English has to stop. There is PLENTY of discrimination the other way around and it is almost NEVER addressed. Paternally, I come from a very rural family. Out of nearly 30 people, I was the first guy who grew up in a relatively large city, studied in a proper English medium school and could speak crisp, fluent English (with an Indian higher income group city accent of course, not like some westerner) since I was a kid. I have also lived in hostels with people from both north Indian and south Indian rural areas. I also interact with the “broken English but good vernacular/pidgin” batch on social media. The trash that people talk about us is limitless. I have experienced it in my own family and also outside. “Angrej ka aulad”, “macaulay ka baccha”, “kanjra”, “angreji ghulami ki maansik rogi”, “colonial mentality” (the true colonial mentality is with the English-weak batch. They want to be able to control us, make us share their insecurities, think and speak just like them in languages that THEY prefer) and what not. I’ve been threatened by guys in hostels “angreji baath karna hai tho dhoor jaake baath kar varna…”, been called all sorts of names, not for speaking English WITH people who prefer other languages, but simply around them with someone else. Indian people who have this disdain for their fluent English speaking counterparts are not uneducated either. Many of them are perfectly well educated and have degrees in engineering, medicine, commerce, law etc., sometimes up to the Ph.D or equivalent level. But these are people who have or at one point had poor English fluency and they despise Indians to whom it comes more naturally. Comments like “haha, look those English speaking guys are in useless departments and our vernacular guys are in top departments” etc. are things you here from medical and engineering professors and colleagues alike. Funny, because a large chunk of their textbooks are written by foreign authors from English speaking countries. This sort of mentality damages our careers and lives also. Also, this constant junk about “English is being imposed, education is being denied to non-English students” and then talking about China, Russia and Japan (as if our social contexts are the same as theirs), and being reminded “English is only a language, not knowledge” like the vernacular medium students are all award winning intellectuals is ridiculous. We have a Hindi vaala PM, Hindi vaala home minister, Malayalam ISRO chief, vernacular papers sell like hot cakes, most of Indian RUclips is in vernacular languges, most parliamentary debates are in vernacular languages, there are news channels in every major vernacular language and once you get out of Tier-1 and the larger Tier-2 cities, most correspondence is also in vernacular languages. I have people in own family who studied in vernacular language schools and reached high positions in both the private and govt. sector. No one stopped them from being successful (and yes, they learnt English later). And still we have to listen to the aforementioned rubbish. You can’t start a bloody Indian English channel on RUclips with someone not writing garbage about the fact that the channel is in English and insulting the presenters on the channel, DESPITE the fact that most channels are in vernacular languages. All of today’s English speaking Indians are children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of people from rural areas who studied in vernacular language schools and many of whom couldn’t speak more than a few broken sentences (if at all) in English. Resenting and insulting us will do you no good. If not your kids, your grandkids will be like us one day. And if you migrate to other countries, they’ll be even more Englishy than us. If you hate us, good luck handling your own future generations.

the fact that she said gandhi ji abd not mahatma gandhi made me respect her
Her father can proud on her now.😊
You guys are the real Saiman Says i.e. underrated ngl.
English gave so much linguistic access.
Cant focus on the content just for the stupendous editing
The problem is... "Arela hu jaarela hu" is considered by default Tapori and.. "Fu*k mate... I don't like that crazy b*tch" .. Is considered as Class
"Tu to Aevy Aevy Aevy loot gya
hoo..
Tu to Aevy aevy aevy aevy loot gya....," 😂😂
I think India should have only one official language English. Hindi should be discontinued altogether. Many of the states don't have their primary language as Hindi but in Centre level exams like UPSC there are two options Hindi & English people from Hindi-speaking states get an edge over those from non-Hindi-speaking states and this is simply intolerable. The Hindi-speaking states aren't even the large contributors to our economy but most of south Indian, non-Hindi-speaking states (Including Maharashtra) are literally economic powerhouses of the Indian economy, hence shouldn't they get priority over Hindi-speaking states?
Because you speaking in English even foreigners are watching 👀
One overlooked tendency is that political resistance movements are spearheaded not by the downtrodden poor but by the upper class or some form of elite.
English is a great lingua franca for India because of its neutrality and the fact that it will not give people of any ethnicity an edge over others in India. It is a great equalizer. This is something Hindi or Telugu or Bangla could never do.
Why can’t Hindi be a neutral language
@@cyke1234 it can't because it is natively spoken by a ton of people in India. It puts them at an advantage and threatens other languages. The reason Urdu worked in Pakistan is that there were no native Urdu speakers.
@@MichelleObamasBBC Hindi is nobody’s native language. Hindi speaking states don’t remember their mother tongue but historically they have their own native languages
@@cyke1234 Because we Choose not To Kneel Before you Sangis...
Fun Fact: Probability of making a female friend is less than that of getting a job (inclusive of good skillset and better english language).
Wonderful presentation Thank you for highlighting this topic
Question for a future Q&A: What percentage of your viewers are from English-speaking nations like the US and Britain?
this is so funny, im an nri now and i read my own mother tongue at a childs pace
i feel ashamed for not knowing my own mother tongue and hindi and sanskrit
Camble or Duolingo should be the sponsor of the video 😂😂
Loved the editing & the style of content presented!!
many managers in IT and corporate sector get paid more than people who are skilled in technical jobs just cause they can speak better english...probably thats why ppl from IIM are getting more pay here in bengaluru
Now we are changing our country's name to Bharat - related to old ancient Indian roots . word Bharat came from Sanskrit.
When egypt was colonized by the Brits they also had to go through similar practices like India however when Brits left they forced people to embrace the Arabic culture with its language which in India didn't happen... Its an absolute shame to know English after what the Brits did to us...
Have you ever felt ashamed that you learned English
regional language is the best.
NO ONE SHOULD IMPOSE THE LANGUAGE OF MAJORITY TO THE MINORITY
ORIGINALITY IS THE BEST
Well we need One Common language to Communicate each other....
I say..... English
8:02 ,oppurtunity=rich class job= rich secure future=dream of foreign residence=ENGLISH😂

Hey, nobody noticed the six fingers of the Ai created lady in the thumbnail.😂
before I finish this video, the irony is the whole video is in English.
LOVE the "what ra sudeep" reference guys
😆
The problem of Regional languages of India is that they dont create new words for new items. Eg- What's the hindi equivalent of "Smartphone"? There's none. An item which we use everyday doesnt have a hindi transliteration. So directly or indirectly we have to force ourselves to learn English. Other regional languages too have the same problem.
Actually we have a name for it, train, computer, videos etc
@@kamalkant6135 Not for all items. The train does have a name(रेलगाड़ी) but for some nobody uses it, not even Indian Railways. Our education system also doesnt teach new words , and instead is still stuck in 1950's.
@@ku5285 actually railgadi is not hindi (lahupatgamni) one that moves on iron is rail but anyways
There is no need of any govt approval for hindi to be national language, for me most Indians speaking it is sufficient that Hindi is our national lang.
sometimes i feel weird cause lets talk about japan they priotrize their own language rather then learning english first. also foreigners who just o for a week or two they mostly learn japanese basic at least but when a foreigners come to india even for a month or so they dont even try to learn basic local language they rather talk in english with everyone and poor people who have a little grasp of knowledge struggle to help or communicate
Dumb comment 😅😅😅😅
We believe it or not but the reality is English is the thing that actually breaks the devide in indian people bcs there are language barrier and yes if we want to progressive we have to connect with the world and for that english is a most suitable way of connection....also we made our own english language now "indian english"
India to Bharat .. we need this also now only one name
irony is that even the video is in english
2nd irony is that my comment is also in english .😂😂😂😂😂😂
Start dubbing videos in other local languages.....your channel will grow hell quickly
"Hello Avey TV! Your content is insightful and enriching. Could you consider creating a detailed case study on NEXA cars, examining their inception post-Maruti Suzuki's reign? Exploring NEXA's emergence and evolution would greatly aid my business exam preparation, providing valuable insights into consumer behavior, market positioning, and strategic adaptation in the automobile industry. Your analysis could serve as an invaluable resource, offering a comprehensive understanding of NEXA's journey. Looking forward to learning from your engaging and informative content! Thank you."
Where is your background LED screen?
Even this video is in English 😂😂😂😂
You forgot to mention the role of the United States as a global power. Today, the United States is the country with the most overseas Indians. American jobs, universities and lifestyle are a dream for most Indians . American music and Hollywood movies are very popular here. Most of the products we buy and use are American. Hence, if today Indians love English, then USA has a bigger role than UK.
Yeh but british also us to speak english
Aevy is a Vibe!
Remember that C P brown book, where Tamil, Telugu, Kananda, malayalam, hindi, Bengali, Marthi, Gujarthi, and many more language to english and converting to Christainity... Also Speaking in english brain wired parents that as digineied thingy... Either Now whose laughing, British got nothing if they return all back rightfully owned.
Irony
we are speaking in english for sake of all of us to understand what we mean to say. Soon to forward I bet we our generation all shall be educated to learn to write, read and speak in our native mother tongue.
Could you please launch any course of video editing? love avey tv ❤.
First india needs to uplift its manufacturing sector to decrease usage of english.
Just imagine, heavily relying on service sector and not knowing a common language and official international language.
Those dravdian supremacists are the buggets hurdle in it.
No bro.... leaving english is not an option in modern era .... you go to any country you will find few english speakers when you need help.
Keep dreaming. English is used internationally.
English mein sab logical lagta hai. Some People use English to convert their bullshit into an intellectual. Agree?
Sis forgot we changed Calcutta to Kolkata
6:34
For people from outside of Hindi belt, after 100 years of English being forced on us, and then trying to force hindi on us
And Now We Vouch for English 😂😂😂😂😂
Someone finally made a video on this!
The reason why I watch avey tv is just because achina didi is so cute 🥰
Maje ki bat ye hai ki ye vedio bhi english me hai😂
There is no issue with as english language as long its not at expense of local languages. Today's reality is most urban people can't people can't speak whole sentences without using english filler words. People on ground are being conditioned to learn english through music, movies, news, govt, jobs, education system, etc
i think there is a problem in your fundamentals. why today we need English for better jobs? russians speak Russian. Chinese got hired for speaking chinese. don't they make good money? don't they work with foreign clients? Chinese people even use their mobile phones in Chinese. can you set your phone to hindi and even the keyboard to देवनागरी ? try for a week.
Baat toh sahi kiya aapne but abhi kuch nhi kar sakte. Yeh sab kabhi change nhi hone wala. Ulta ab aur log english mein baat karenge.
We like to Speak in English all over India.
Why should we speak Hindi ?
When We go for "higher education" everything is English.......
Only Because of South India Hindi was and will be Unable to get the National language Tag.
South Indian people are 💯💪🔥
Otherwise there is nothing but Hindi everywhere, what about Others "Mother tongue".
Why does the Hindi speaking population Get the advantage of everything in India.
B'coz it doesn't have a state of it's own rather it's a mixture of Farsi(more)little Bangla ,brij and pahadi languages ,also it contributed a lot during independence the Urdu (speaking population which is a pure arabic and pure Farsi mix ) mostly from Hyderabad , up propagated Hindi...
Otherwise how could a Gujrati origin and Bangla origin get together and fought for freedom ...
The used Hindi as a medium for communication during the struggle ..
I'm as a Northeastern non Hindi and regional party voter do sad seeing mainland Indians so diverged from their own history ..
An Assamese coming to my state who can't speak Lepcha Language neither our people can speak English well communicate in Hindi..
Coz their great grandfathers fought against British with Gandhiji and hence learnt Hindi...
I watching your videos is the reason of English language
0:37 - 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
