Outstanding dude. When I saw the kit I wasn’t so sure but this is easily the most accomplished cover of a Rush song I’ve seen. Loved the tasteful double bass work at the end - you made it your own. Bravo 👏
Thanks so much to everyone for taking the time to watch this, and for the kind words! I’ll be uploading another Rush cover in memoriam of Neil tonight, and then hopefully another two before month end.
Badass!!!!! Savage, I never seen an upswing to a cymbal before! You make it look so easy, but I know it is difficult to play. It's my favorite Rush song.
Oh hell yes. I've been on a steady spree of drum-alongs trying to keep up with our dearly departed Neil. It still hurts a lot. You crushed this. Can't wait for more.
I've seen a few covers where drummers put their own flair on it, and it takes from the track. The little things Casey's added here fit it and serve well.
Amazing. It’s an odd thing that one can shed tears for someone you’ve never met. But Neil affected drummers on a different level. Sure others enjoy Rush, but for drummers, Neil made something special back on that kit that only those who struggle to play drums can appreciate. Of all The Professor’s parts Subdivisions is top 3 for me. It perfectly displays Neils immense talent to create mind blowing drums parts. Anyway, great tribute. Thanks for everything Neil... cheers
First reaction: wow, he has his hi-hat mounted really high - he must go through a lot of sticks. Second reaction - chuckled when I saw pieces of wood flying everywhere. But enjoyed it :)
Absolutely LOVE this cover! Casey- I no longer can play at 65....but if I could, YOUR style/talent is what I wish I could've been.....then. And...some great showmanship with the over/under strikes for cymbal crashes and right hand stick flips. BRAVO! Subbed.
You absolutely CRUSHED this cover....note for note. I had to check it out 3x. Excellent mic'ing and mix; love the fat snare sound. VERY impressive, and my all time FAVE Subdivisions drum cover. KUDOS.
Hey Casey, probably the 8th time Ive come back to watch this clip, so very well and very joyfully done, have saved the link for future review based only on how much I enjoyed watching how much joy you get from playing this song. Keep it up dude, well done
Really amazing cover of probably my all time favorite Rush song, Casey! You really brought the same emotion to the track that Neil did, and most of us Rush fans can identify with the lyrics in one way or another. Take care and again, amazing work!
@@DinaDAndrea You’re so kind! Even though I love almost every single Rush song, this song in particular means the world to me, resonating with the teenage misfit that I grew from. @@CaseyLewis I feel this so much and couldn’t agree more. There is truly no other band like them, and Neil was certainly one of a kind. Your band, though, is quite good!! Ever come to Windsor, Ontario to tour?

Great job!!! I don't know how your voice is but, if you can, and have Geddy's range, that's special....in my younger days, I played and sang Limelight, Red Barchetta, Spirit of Radio, Digital Man, Tom Sawyer, Entre Nous, New World Man and a few others that don't immediately come to mind..again KUDOS to ya, brother!!!👍👍👍👍👍
Hey Casey…Amazing job. That had to be one of the best Subdivisions covers I’ve seen. Thanks for that!…btw, Ged’s vocals sounded different. Where did you get that from? Thanks, again
Thanks, man! I really appreciate that. I found the stem tracks online, stereo mixes of drums, bass, guitars, keys and vocals. I can’t remember where. I suspect they may have been taken from Rock Band by someone. Don’t know for sure.
Just a question.... Why do you have your Hi-hat som up high? It is a max height. It is destroying your drumsticks... It seems odd to me.. I keep low and nice i'm high. We are all different.
