@@baxelgarrellia201 Yeah sadly so far they are the only ones that did a physical release for it but I would almost guarantee this will get a reprint in the future. So I wouldn't be tempted by resellers just yet. I'd give it maybe another 6 months or so and it starts getting amazon listings.
@@HallowedBeThyGame I am all for Game Preservation but the limited Stuff is aweful even if i like that i know there are more people that miss out and have to pay stupid amounts of money.
Here's a game that I think flew under some people's radar: Gotta Protectors: Cart of Darkness. It's definitely a step up from the 3DS version, but in a good way. Instead of playing as one character, you can switch between 3 to better fit you. You still have to protect the princess, but to win, you have to destroy the enemy's base with your castle, which now moves on treads. It's a fun game in my book from Ancient.
Blacksmith of the sand kingdom is a great one IMO. Got it about a year ago I think and I still have to finish it because other games came and forced me to set it aside. I loved the balance of dungeon crawling, selling the items you collect, or equipping them. I just love these kinds of games because every run you make in a dungeon doesn't feel like a lost one if you don't get exactly what you want.
Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale if you have a pc I definitely recommend checking out. Loved that game, wish they would port that to consoles but as long as it has been around and not having one doubt it will happen. It would shutdown shop games on switch for the time being.
It's amazing what Nintendo has done for the Switch. They found their niche and have absolutely piled it on with great games. There are so many that my wallet can't keep up.
Ren you clearly got some heaters in here. I just recently bought a PS5 copy of Anno Mutationem and cant wait to play it (if only the Trails games got out of the way lol). Bot Vice looks like big fun with all of that shooting, you're right, probably best in burst to play that one. Good to see you are making sure to include at least one waifu game haha! At least a handful of these have physical releases which is cool (though in a couple cases not on Switch). Great video man, having discord help to dig in is a great idea. Thanks HBTG!
Thanks so much! So happy some caught your eye. I always prefer physical but a secret agenda for these is hopefully raise awareness to some publishers to reprint or make a new run for these games. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the recommendations! A tip for anyone that dives into Mercenaries Saga Chronicles and enjoys it. Switch also has a 4th, 5th, and 6th game in the series too. Mercenaries Wings: The False Phoenix, Mercenaries Blaze: Dawn of the Twin Dragons, Mercenaries Rebirth: Call of the Wild Lynx. No idea about the games myself. Saga Chronicles is still on my backlog of games to play.
Souldiers is a great game. I've been playing it on the switch for a while and love it. That said , a fair warning for anyone looking to play it, it still has lengthy load times, some glitches and, yes, crashes too, though not as bad as to make it unplayable imo. Personally I'm still having a blast with it, but depending on how much these things can get to you, its up to each if they're a deal breaker or not. Gameplay and visual wise are totally worth it though....if only it ran as smooth as it should, it'd be one of those viiral celevrated games i'm sure.
Great List as always. I have played Rabi-Ribi and Anno Mutationem and had a blast! Mercenaries Saga has been sitting in my wishlist for some time now, hope to actually pick it up some of these days. Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom is very intriguing to me tho, as I took a new liking to the classic grind. Fun Fact for Anno Mutationem (for those who care about music): The OST is made by Vanguard Sound, who are currently most known for their bangers for the mobile game Punishing: Gray Raven.
I’ve seen Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom get a limited physical release, and was wondering if it was worth the price of admission. I’m glad you covered it!
@@HallowedBeThyGame Thank you! By the same token, Alphadia Genesis 1 & 2 also has a limited release as a collection. Have you ever covered those games?
If you like Viviette, then another one along the same lines I recommend is Mad Father. Same style and similar horror themes. It might of been suggested already prior to me watching this vid.
Nice, glad you finally got into Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom, not gonna lie I double dipped when the physical dropped. Also, Mercenaries Rebirth drops physical in July, definitely a series I’ve been buying and backlogging until it’s times to burn through them.
ANNO Mutationem was fire. Definitely a must play. I still need to check out Ghost Song at some point. A gem I've recently played is Lucah: Born Of A Dream if you want an action survival type game with a very interesting art direction.
I thought Anno Mutationem had really good graphics. Great design on the environment all around. But the gameplay was terrible. I thought same thing about Narita Boy.
Thank you Sir for including some more “cultured” games in your list. Also, thanks for bringing attention to some smaller indie games. Many of these games definitely fly under most people’s radar. They just don’t get much exposure on most channels. You are doing a great service! I’ll definitely be checking some of these out.
Rabi-Ribi is the best, I have the world's largest collection of Rabi-Ribi merch, all 6 variant covers for PS4 and Vita, 2 different limited edition PC editions, art books, CD Soundtracks, acrylic key chains, acrylic standees sets, Erina and Ribbon Dakimakura Pillow cover, a cardboard box with Erina the bunny and it says Rabi Ribi on it, and a full set of Limited Run Games Rabi Ribi trading cards. I love Rabi-Ribi such a cute, fun and very challenging, but rewarding game.
I downloaded the Mercenaries Saga a few months ago because I like tactical RPGS, it just felt so clunky to me that I didn't get very far before I moved on.
Excellent list I liked several of these games and hero must die again is one I've debated on for a while. I recently got a few games that I don't here much about and have been enjoying them. Monster girls and the mysterious adventure 2, which is a mystery dungeon rogue like with some town management. Dungeon munchies, a Metroid-vania platformer game where you're a zombie who uses ingredients from the enemies you kill to make either food or weapons. The food is mainly power ups that are permanent as long as they are in your stomach (basically equipping) which you can switch out as wanted/needed. Magic potion millionaire, an action platformer where you run a famous potion shop that has no rivals, gets lazy, then loses all your customers to a rival and have to work to get your skills back to what they were. Monmusu gladiator, a rogue-like game where you select and manage monster girls to be successful in arena combat. Pretty much everything is managed by cards except the combat. It is actually a ton of fun and I enjoy when I unlock a new character to train.
Ooh, Rabi-Ribi! I’ve heard it’s actually quite a great metroidvania. I’ve honestly been waiting for it to maybe get a physical version one day - hope it comes to pass 😁. I’m still surprised you’re able to keep finding such large amounts of quality games to make these videos for as often as you do. The Switch truly is a treasure trove 👍
Haha the switch is insane for choice! Happy you had heard of it and I am really hoping someone big sees this video and gives us a switch physical version!
It's a great game but so overpriced for what it is, in my opinion. I refuse to pay more than £11.99 for a digital version. Especially when I already own it on the PC. I think £24.99 would be a reasonable price for a physical switch copy though :)
this is why I recommend watching a channels older hidden gems and indies videos. I'm finding games I didn't know about and need to try. like Anno. it looks like it's just my type of game. I just downloaded the demo and gonna try it out today. ty. also, I can also confirm (imo) that Ghost Song is really really good.
Souldiers is a game I've had my eye on for a while and I remember the buggy state that it was launched in, so that is why I decided to wait until a physical release came out because the bugs would likely be fixed by then and I'd just prefer to have a physical copy. While I don't have a copy yet, it is on my list of games to get soon. I played the PC version of ANNO: Mutationem and I had a blast with it and I've also pre-ordered a physical release of the game on the Switch from Limited Run and I look forward to playing the game again when that arrives. Young Souls is a game I just recently heard about from a friend who suggested it to me because I like games like Dragon's Crown, Guardian Heroes, and the D&D arcade games so I'll have to check that one out. I've played the PC version of Ghost Song and it is excellent and a top-tier metroidvania in my eyes. Apparently both the Switch and PS5 will be getting a physical release of it in late July by Humble Games and I will definitely be throwing my money at that release. Thanks for the heads up on Merceneries Saga Chronicles, Rabi Ribbi, Viviette, Bot Vice, Strikey Sisters, Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom, and Hero Must Die Again. All of those look like they'd be fun to play and Viviette especially looks right up my alley.
Man I'm so happy to hear your friends pitched Young Souls as a Dragon's Crown esque game to you. It really hit a lot of chords with me like that and thank you so much for letting me know about Ghost Song getting a physical release! I swear you all help me not miss out. I'd love to hear what you think of Viviette if you pick it up. I've seen it go on sale before but I'm secretly really hopeful their games can get some physical releases.
Really appreciate these reviews and information. Love me some switch games, and most of these look fantastic!! Will certainly get a couple of these for sure and you've got yourself a new follower!
Great list! I always look forward to these types of videos from you. Not sure if this game has been mentioned in these lists before, but I started (and finished) Void Terrarium recently, since the sequel came out last month, and it was fantastic! It really doesn't look like it from the cover, but it's a great mystery dungeon - style game with great growth and resource mechanics that makes each dungeon run feel worthwhile. It's been the most fun I've had with that style of game since PMD Explorers.
Thank you for the video! Some games I'd never heard of, I'm really wanting to play Anno Mutationem. Unfortunately it was only published physically by Limited Run, so now copies are ridiculously expensive - really wish we could end these horrible fomo business models and just have an ethical publisher who can long term publish some of these small releases!
Back in the day if a game was still selling the publisher would keep printing more copies and make more money! After enough print runs, the game would get a price drop and become a “Greatest Hits” or a “Players Choice” or something like that, creating a lot more happy satisfied gamers!
Great list and yes keep making more of these. I own about half of these games. I've never played any of the kemco rpgs, but I do own a few. My problem is probably the same as everyone's, too many games and not enough time.
I have ghost Song and Evil tonight for a while now actually most games in this list i already own or at least i know about them. Totally agree with you These are really nice ones. Tonight a game called dredge released thats really cool as well! ^^ Nice vid keep that quality and it will Payback... in a good way xD Edit: Eiyuden Chronicles and Dusk. I mean Dusk is not really a hidden Gem but its awesome and Eiyuden Chronicles is a Metroidvania thats really cute ^^

Anno Mutationem looks a lot like Dex, which I'm a huge fan of. I'm on board. Viviette looks amazing... Top down action that reminds me of Clock Tower, LttP, and Sweet Home. Strikey sisters is a love letter to the snes game, Fire Striker. Cool concept to be revived. Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom sounds cool and the art style reminds me of Radiant Historia a bit... One of my favorite rpgs of all time. Great video, and man... You are kicking ass!!! Keep it up!
Dude thank you so much! I'm so happy you found some games that caught your eye and the character portraits definitely do have a Radiant Historia vibe, also one of my all time favorites! Thanks for watching and have a great weekend!
Another stellar list! Anno Mutationem looks so good! Ghost Song might be a genre that I'm not too fond of but the vibe along will make me buy it as it looks dark and grim! Finally someone who mentions the Mercenaries series! Such a fantastic series for sure and all the games are eventually released in physical format but are distributed by LRG so you need to be patient lol! Viviette looks really interesting and another one that I will need to keep my eyes on! That wishlist just keeps getting bigger! Great video and keep up the good work!
I’m so late to the party (as usual with the Mercenaries games but fat dang I love it!) also I’m so happy that Viviette caught your eye! I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!
I finished Anno Mutationem and i can say it's more style over substance. while it's not a bad game or anything, the core-gameplay is a bit boring and uninspired. But as i said the style and aesthetic is very pretty to look at outside of the "missions". I think this game would have been better as a point & click adventure tbh
Strikes Sisters looks incredible! What a sort of different take on the “Brick breaker” genre. I love it! Hero Must Die Again also has my attention. Another absolute solid list! Have Gem? HBTG Will find it! Stay awesome brother! 🤘

I have spent hours and hours looking for a video with recommendations just like yours. Other RUclipsrs keep recommending the same games over and over again (Mario games, mario kart, Luigi's Mansion and similar). You broke the mould and provided great awesome recommendations together with the passion you transmit while explaining the features of each game. Loved your video! You also made me give up on the idea of buying an additional console coz I could not find anything interesting. My wallet is paying the consequences now 😅🤣😂
Another good video. Maybe you could do a themed one of these for different genres. Rougelikes would be a great one for sure. Nuclear Throne, Inscryption, Monster Train, Skul, etc.
great to hear someone mention DYA games, they're one of my favourites....would love someone to put out a double pack cartridge of bot vice and strikey sisters
Souldiers look great , Gearshifters is also a great game that few gamers know and speak , please take a look at that game because is very cool, as always great video.
Also you can get all those games besides Mercenaries Saga on Steam if you like me don't own a Switch and have a low specs PC. Just throwing that out there.
Love these lists you put together. I've gotten a few games off recommendations from some of your past videos and I've not been disappointed. Though sometimes it's easier to get PS4 versions of the games cuz my kids want to play the Switch so I don't get as much Switch time 😅
Curse you for bringing up Rabi-Ribi. This one’s been on my Vita watch list for a long time and has been slowly falling down in price finally. If it goes up again, I directly call war on the unofficial Dusk Diver Ambassador to the west. ;)
I don't know how "hidden" it is, but Guardian Tales Yeah, it's a mobile game, too, but there's no crossplay yet, sadly. Create a team of four from a wide assortment of upgradeable characters that bomb, shoot, bow, melee, etc. and enter zelda styled top down dungeons with puzzles, minigames, and such. Likely way more playable on Switch than a phone. Lots of characters, one of the best princesses imo, and charming emotive pixel art. Until there's crossplay, unless you're used to phone controls, I'd start on switch.
Yo, Ren my dude! I have a hidden gem you need to check out. I haven't tried it myself, but it's definitely on my list. It's called Unsighted. You'll DEFINITELY love it man. It's a top down (kinda) 8 bit retro game with a nice combat system. As of rn, I'm playing Gal Guardians demon purge that was released 2 months ago. (Also another game to check out). I have quite a handful of games and I figured to let you know 👍
Blacksmith of the sand kingdom has been on my watch list for a while, and I own the first 5 mercenaries games. FFT is one of my favorite games of all time. Never heard of the others, though the last one is a firm pass. I loathe time limits of any kind.
Anno Mutationem was in my frikin ignore list on steam, what drugs i was on to put it there??? the game looks amazing, gonna wipe my ignore list now because of that, who knows how many amazing games there hidden

After I seen Viviette in Mr. Halloweds video I started checking for a physical. Guess that's why. Fingers crossed they get one soon.
I 100% agree. I’m so sick of fomo marketing and physical collecting. It’s becoming excruciating 😣
Back in the day if a game was still selling the publisher would keep printing more copies and make more money! After enough print runs, the game would get a price drop and become a “Greatest Hits” or a “Players Choice” or something like that, creating a lot more happy satisfied gamers!
Some real interesting games here! Great job!
Glad you like them!
Great list and yes keep making more of these.
I own about half of these games. I've never played any of the kemco rpgs, but I do own a few. My problem is probably the same as everyone's, too many games and not enough time.
Time is the true boss haha but so happy you enjoy these lists!
@@HallowedBeThyGame 🤣 time is the true boss we can never defeat.
I have ghost Song and Evil tonight for a while now actually most games in this list i already own or at least i know about them. Totally agree with you These are really nice ones. Tonight a game called dredge released thats really cool as well! ^^
Nice vid keep that quality and it will Payback... in a good way xD
Edit: Eiyuden Chronicles and Dusk. I mean Dusk is not really a hidden Gem but its awesome and Eiyuden Chronicles is a Metroidvania thats really cute ^^
So happy you’ve enjoyed a lot of these games already! Evil Tonight is so excellent and I’m happy more people are discovering it. Thanks for watching and the support!
@@HallowedBeThyGame
I do that for free 😆
Its really cool to have all that horrorgames on the switch like lamentum, Evil tonight and my Personal Favorite Signalis (bought the physikal ver.).
That you have a Discord i actually didnt notice i just started watching your channel someday but never looked into the Details what socialmedia you use 😆
Oh thank you for the reminder about Singalis! It looks right up my alley and I need to quit dragging my feet on it. The switch is an endless abyss of content and I’m so happy you found the channel!
@@HallowedBeThyGame signalis is really good and well polished wirh gorgeous pixelart, references to multiple other franchises multiple endings Dependance on the way you play. You know like the silent hill Games.
Actually from all the games everybody teils me "it looks and feels like silent hill" this is the first one where i say yeah that one feels like a game made by some sh dev.
It even has the akward combat 😆
And in the physikal release you get a picture that changes Depend how you Look at it and thats important to the Story.
I actually really like your content xD
ye Blacksmith looks best of Kemco, should try it
Have fun!
Thanks for watching and have a great weekend!
good list of games.
I can't watch one of these videos without walking away with a game I wanna try, awesome job.
Glad you like them!
I just got the blacksmith of the sand kingdom only like 3 days ago, so when I seen the tavern owner in the intro picture, I instantly got interested
My wallet: Hello darkness my old friend
Haha sorry, hope you find something you enjoy!
Love seeing a ton of DYA Games on here, I played through Bot Vice and Strikey Sisters two years ago. Make sure to hit up Super Star Path too
Thanks so much for shouting that one out! I'm gonna check it out!
Have had Vivette on my Wishlist for a long time. I think you’ve finally convinced me to pull the trigger on that purchase. Thanks man!
Hope you enjoy it!
very interesting list. you have good taste. subscribed
Glad you enjoyed!
Dude I’m so happy it caught your eye! And THANK YOU! I had no idea what to call that genre lol. You rock man 🤘
@@HallowedBeThyGame Hey no problem! It’s awesome to see a classic style like Arkanoid breathe new life! I love it! Thanks for putting it on my radar 🤘
Another game thats uses the same mechanic is creature of the well.
Loving the videos, you hype these games up so well and it makes me want to play all of them. 😮
So happy you’re enjoying the videos! I hope you have fun with any you get!
Anno Mutationem: "This is the type of gamer I am"
Me: "But where's the waifus?"
Rabi Ribi: *exists
Me: "There it is"
Ren: "Metroidvania with bullethell elements"
Me: *flashbacks to Tohou Luna Nights "....well.... I guess I have to get the rabbit girl game with the silly name that I'm gonna have to explain to my wife isn't some weird Otaku fetish of mine.... again..."
Haha 😂 goodluck! Have fun!
Thnx for sharing. First 2 games I definitely wanna try. Like and subscribed. Love looking out for hidden gems. It's what makes gaming fun.
Thanks for the support! I agree, hidden gems make gaming worth it. Hope you enjoy what ya pickup!
@@HallowedBeThyGame Thnx maestro! Today I received
" Neo, the world ends with you" through the mail, which is also relatively unknown by the bigger audience. So first gonna play that one. After that I'm gonna start with Souldiers, although Anno Mutationem also is right up my alley! Probably just gonna order them both. Thanks again! Till next time!
Thnx that last one turned out to be a fantastic game. So underrated
Couldn't agree more!
My wallet is paying the consequences now 😅🤣😂
I’m so happy you enjoyed the list! Hope you find something that catches your eye!
Thanks for the recommendations! I will try Anno Mutation and Young Souls because I have been a metroidvania fan since childhood
Hope you enjoy it!
Nice list, ever played Eastward, to the moon or Katana Zero? highly recommend ;)
To the moon is incredible, I need to play the others. Thanks for recommending!
Another good video. Maybe you could do a themed one of these for different genres. Rougelikes would be a great one for sure. Nuclear Throne, Inscryption, Monster Train, Skul, etc.
Ok great, thanks for the suggestion!
I have played Rabi Ribi and I loved it. Totally worth your time and effort. I Totally recommend it.
Awesome list! Thank you for the recommendations!
You're so welcome! Glad you liked it!
I'm definitely going to check out Souldiers. I love Hollow Knight- length metroidvania's.
I've known about ANNO Mutationem since its State of Play trailer and it looks soooo good!! Haven't played it yet tho :(
great to hear someone mention DYA games, they're one of my favourites....would love someone to put out a double pack cartridge of bot vice and strikey sisters
That'd be the dream
Souldiers look great , Gearshifters is also a great game that few gamers know and speak , please take a look at that game because is very cool, as always great video.
So happy you enjoyed it! Thanks for the recommendation! I haven’t played that one
Not buying anything for Switch but the ideas are nice.
What games do you use clips from for your opening?
Castlevania Symphony of the night, Dead Cells, Ys 8, Persona 5, Xenoblade Chronicles, Hades, Dark Souls (I think that’s all of them)
Whoa Blacksmith of the sand kingdom and Hero must die again look interesting I need to look at this game.
Hope you enjoy it!
Liked, subscribed! Thanks for the video ❤
Awesome! Thank you!
Also you can get all those games besides Mercenaries Saga on Steam if you like me don't own a Switch and have a low specs PC. Just throwing that out there.
Very true, steam rocks
Had not heard of the last game but looks very cool :)
Glad you think so!
If it's never been mentioned, Tails of Iron is one that goes under the radar.
i cant find any of his videos but on the intro screen where he has the animations from different games what are the third and fourth games?
Love these lists you put together. I've gotten a few games off recommendations from some of your past videos and I've not been disappointed. Though sometimes it's easier to get PS4 versions of the games cuz my kids want to play the Switch so I don't get as much Switch time 😅
Haha I totally understand! I hope you have fun with any you pickup!
@@HallowedBeThyGame I always do. Ended up getting Souldiers, Blacksmith in the Desert, and The Hero Must Die Again. Can't wait to dive into these ☺️
@@NightFire2100 That's excellent! Epic pickups! Have fun!
Keep em coming brother!
Haha will do!
Curse you for bringing up Rabi-Ribi. This one’s been on my Vita watch list for a long time and has been slowly falling down in price finally. If it goes up again, I directly call war on the unofficial Dusk Diver Ambassador to the west. ;)
!!!!!!!!😳!!!!!!!!!! I have to heart this just for getting my title correct. Hoping for a print for switch and not the vita price hike.
i love videos like this because i always find some gems
Happy to hear!
I don't know how "hidden" it is, but
Guardian Tales
Yeah, it's a mobile game, too, but there's no crossplay yet, sadly.
Oh excellent! I hadn't heard of this one. Thanks and I'll be sure to check it out!
I have quite a handful of games and I figured to let you know 👍
I have the blacksmith of the sand kingdom on my phone(full game ) and I still play till this day
Blacksmith of the Sand Kingdom sounds exactly like Recettear, except in that game you run an item shop.
I need to check that one out, thank you!
@@HallowedBeThyGame It's one of my favorite games ever, an absolute blast. I've sunk hundreds of hours into it. You'll love it.
I actually played Anno Mutationem a few months ago, I enjoyed the heck out of it too lol. I'm currently playing Rabi-Ribi rn
Heck ya!
Can you say if there are physical versions for each game. Thanks
Where can I find these games on physical?
Blacksmith of the sand kingdom has been on my watch list for a while, and I own the first 5 mercenaries games. FFT is one of my favorite games of all time.
Never heard of the others, though the last one is a firm pass. I loathe time limits of any kind.
Looking for gargoyle quest II for switch and here I am. Definitely will check out viviette
Hope you enjoy it!
That Mercenaries game looks like FFTactics anf the Tactics Ogre games.
Thanks for your good content. What's the game at 0:12?
Thank you! That's Ys 8
@@HallowedBeThyGame Thank you for your kind answer.
Wait. What? Did I just see an SCP in Anno Mutationem?
Striky Sisters is like Arkanoid. The game you were looking for is Arkanoid.
I was looking for Arkanoid.
Botvice is fuvking hard, I can't even pass first couple stages, brutal. But it was fun
Legit old school hard haha 😂
Anyone know if any performance patches made it onto the Souldiers physical?
Hella underrated
SCP 682 in a Cyberpunk game, grab my money
Anno Mutationem was in my frikin ignore list on steam, what drugs i was on to put it there??? the game looks amazing, gonna wipe my ignore list now because of that, who knows how many amazing games there hidden
Hope you have as much fun with it as I did!
I stand by Young Souls it's awesome kinda glitchy but it's worth it
At 0:12, What is the name of the game?
Do any of these have physical copies
Games 2, 4 (getting physical), 5, 10 and 11 have physicals so far.
@@HallowedBeThyGame thank you
@@royalblueocean2642 no problem!
you have good taste in games
Souldiers its a beautyful game and one of the hardest i can play xD, im buyed on GOG, just buy pals xD, Viviete i love it, this jewel long time buyed, its a mix with resident evil and Darkestfear(java game)
