It's coming together quite nicely. It looked amazing on paper, but one can now fully appreciate the scale, which makes it all the more impressive. Looking forward to see this project come full circle.
your quick videos showing other projects were awesome, and interesting... but this is my favorite yet. I like how you did this and it has me reconsidering my hidden staging track plans... I may have it go below part of the layout instead of inside a mountain... cheers
Thank you very much. This is a large project so I'm trying to be very thoughtful about the project, and how I document it. I appreciate your feedback. It means a lot
Thank you very much. Video production is a hobby within the hobby and it's a nice distraction when screw nailing and soldering get tedious. I appreciate the comment, I do try my best to make attractive videos so your words are happily received. Thanks!
Very cool bench work. Even though you mentioned you originally wanted to use dimensional lumber, I humbly think this construction with the plywood cookie cutting method will definitely stand the test of time.
Dimensional lumber would have been a lot easier, but I believe you're right when you say the plywood might be a better choice as I think it does have greater structural stability. Thanks for the comment!
I think once the two decks are combined, and the track is visible, it will make much more sense as to why I didn't bother with the helix. (Doesn't mean I made the right choice!)
Such a massive project, it's a lot bigger than I envisioned. Good plan making it modular. I talked to a guy in Cincinnati that had a huge layout about 3 times the size of yours. He had the State force him out of his house for a flood control project. He ended up moving his layout to Arizona. Sawzall did a good job but he wished he had it more modular. I noticed you used inches. In Canada is measurement standard and most other things metric? Also I saw a very cool set up with a N scale train layout with a glass top and sides used as a bar. You have a lot of skill with design. Looking forward to your progress and next video.

Nice video as always, and nice layout! How many long it is? The city itself will be distopic? Or standard? Nice video with music, lights and process show. Thanks to share. It will be awesome to see how it grows. 😀
I love how accurate you work 🤩 also your voice is very nice to listen to. Looking forward to your progress updates
Glad you enjoy it!
If my dad was still alive, he'd probably really enjoy watching your videos. He was into the model railroad setups
Interesting build process. Some food for thought there. :) Craig.
Predrilled holes for wires. Great idea that I didn’t do. I’m excited to see this come together.
Thanks! I forget where I saw someone predrill wiring holes, but I do remember thinking 'If I remember to only do this one thing...'
You're a model railroad surgeon!
...there was a lot of swearing.
Great progress.
Whoa, that’s insane! Insanely awesome, that is. Wow
This is looking impressive!
Great job so far, looks good. Cheers
Thanks 👍
Really like how this continues to come together!
Incredible!

I feel the same way. The paper coffee simply doesn't compare to the real thing.
So happy and excited to see this project taking shape!!! 😁
Yay! Thank you!
Man I cant wait to see this thing up and running..
Oh you’re moving into the finished space of the basement! Lol 😂 moving on up in the world. Can’t wait for more my friend.
It is time...
Thanks you have me some great ideas and things to consider.
Very nice great way to layout your track plan awesome video

Very cool!!!
That was very interesning, not less than your regular dysopia videos! Thanks for capturing the process, now I'm really into this project
Thanks Tony. I appreciate you supporting the videos that are outside of the regular genre. 😉
This is going to be great.
Beautiful work. How fortunate you are to have such a large space that you can dedicate your layout to. I look forward to your next update. See ya.
Thanks Norm. I am grateful for the space - families age and at some point there's just no need for a playroom/den.
Really enjoyed watching this. Just really well thought out and executed. Also the music track was great
Got yourself a new subscriber, excellent production, can't wait to see your build progress :)
Welcome aboard! I'm really looking forward to this project - thanks for the sub!
Insane dude
Such a well done video, tv production quality!
Also, the track plan is very interesting, can’t wait for the second episode! ;)

Very nice description / demonstration. The grandson asked why I didn't do it that way. ☻
Your grandson is obviously wise beyond his years!
I dig it. It’s really coming together. I hope to have enough space in the future to do something similar in Ho. Keep up the great work.
Thanks - I appreciate the kind words. I'm already thinking I ought to add Aldershot...
@@NScaleDystopia you have a big space so it seems. And you are really good with filling out space…. So I mean… would make for a great part 2….
Never seen a 2-deck layout so small without a helix, but the 4% grade explains it.

Thanks! Funny you brought up measurement... Canada is metric, but we often use imperial for construction. 😉

The layout is about 17 ft long. The city will be mostly standard, but I do want to add some gritty corners, it is a big city after all.
Is this layout going to be themed modern or post-apocalyptic?
Modern... With a bit of grime
