Just wanted to give y’all some context. I’m back. Oh and here’s the quote I do sloppily recited:
“The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.” Earnest Hemingway, A Farewell To Arms

Good for you, Dylan! A wise man once told me when things aren't right where you're at in life, pack a bag and follow the wind. In 1977, when I was 21, things weren't going my way and didn't know what to do with my life. Decided to leave my hometown on a backroads cross country trip with no destination or goal other than to be honest and real. 46 years later, leaving the security of the known for the unknown has rewarded me greatly. Great things happen to those who challenge the world. Great things are coming your way!

Sorry to rain on your parade, but it's much, much easier to recognize someone's "inner beauty" when they're attractive to us.
It's called the "what's-beautiful-is-good hypothesis" in psychology.
People perceive attractive targets as having more desirable interpersonal traits and being more motivated to form social bonds relative to unattractive targets.
I'm not saying Dylan seems like a bad bloke, not at all, just that this comment is deeply invocative of that particular psychological phenomenon.

    • @StefanDimitrovBG
      @StefanDimitrovBG Год назад +1

@Clint Waltman I agree, but my comment was inspired by the way he talks and behaves because at the end of the day this is what matters the most.

@@StefanDimitrovBG I do feel bad for saying that because I know your intentions were pure.
And I know I said so with a healthy dose of envy.
There's just another channel, a balding late 30's college professor, who has probably got 10% of Dylan's prescribers and he's effing -BRILLIANT- (Dylan's more of an advocate than an ideologue). Just never hear how beautifully he talks and behaves 😛.

Dylan, How much do I appreciate your soul touching mine? "You are the 1st and only social media anything, in all these years, that I have ALL notifications ON."
I wish you love and light as you travel on ALL your journeys.
When you reach your "quickening" take notes.
Remember all you see, hear, and feel. REMEMBER and keep it within.
This is the "one moment in time" when it ALL comes together. Don't let go of it, or take it for granted.
Please keep it in the place where your Conscious, Subconscious, and Superconscious meet.
This is the moment, the reality of, love, light, and joy. The complete connection of your mind, soul, and spirit to EVERY ENERGY, EVERYTHING, EVERYWHERE across time and space.
    My brother, remember...

I’m in a bad place mentally at the moment, and I’ve tried my hardest to see the silver linings in life, but the negative thoughts give my good judgment a voracious fight everyday.
Despite the darkest little thoughts in my mind, I proudly stand still…ALIVE!

So sweet Dylan, I have always liked appreciated you. Thank you much for trying to feel you, amongst this world that is so deeply not okay, no matter how unimpressive or how unimportant or how not special we are, we are just trying our best to feel our heart vulnerably as best we can imperfectly, aren't we. I have done the same narcissistic, self internal shame aspects in some form, because of my own pain, mostly childhood trauma too, but so thankful that amongst that all and even if I have had so much doubt in the past few years, especially with how deeply I am feeling everyone struggle too, that I feel so utterly thankful that I can still be here too, feel myself. See you glow a bit in your own tenderness, sweetness that is so much more than how we appear, even if I scaredly these days with anxiety hide behind tightness, image some or aggression because of how things affect me. Thank you for hearing me too, I do like you much though too. Good thoughts to you while we continue to move through our lives as we can.

Hi Dylan, I just finished watching your walking across America video. I never wrote to you before, but I first found you in your coming out video, which I was pretty inspired by your advice to other people who haven't come out yet. Fast forward I watchEd your vids when you went to LA and they were pretty entertaining, but then you disappeared and so did your videos.
Then you posted vids of you bein in the Army, so I figured you were trying to grow up and find yourself. Then I watched your book release as well as some of your poetry and music vids, I said to myself this guy has some real talent and is a super deep thinker.
Fast forward to now and upon watching this latest video, you seem to be a guy who is still trying to find yourself. You are one of the last people I would have thought would suffer from depression issues, but it can happen with anyone.
I just want to te!all you, first make sure re you love yourself! I don't know you but you always seemed to be a deep down to earth buy in your videos, I am not shocked that you got away from the social influencers in LA. Thank god that you did.
With all of the people I have met, the highly artistic people are super deep thinkers on another level. It may seem to be a curse to you, but you have an abi!it to get messages across to other leople , which is a talent not a lot of people have.
With your admission about xepression, I sin merely hope you have gotten a handle on it, you have to believe that
This world would be a worse place without you. Your never alone!
I sincerely hope you succeed in your journey, this country has a lot to offer with being one with nature as well as meeting a lot of other people. Life is too short not to experience life everyday as best as you can. Hopefully you will read this and I hope it makes a difference to you. Keep up thevideos, a lot of people would still love to follow your journey.
    Tim

Depression will not ease anytime soon in Western world. Our societies created mental health crises by forcing us into a cycle of chasing unattainable dreams made up of gluttonous lifestyles full of materialism and luxury. We then work ourselves into the grave trying to attain social status and material wealth so that our peers accept us as successful people who are worthwhile of friendships, attention, and respect. I live in NYC and I’m constantly going through cycle of depression, self loathing and feeling extremely lonely even-though I supposedly have friends and surrounded by family. The gay community here amplifies these problems that you’re just better off isolating yourself than letting people continue to disappoint and hurt you.

I struggle with my mental health every day. I'm getting treatment now, but over the years, I've found a few things that have helped me along the way. The most helpful thing to me has been sobriety, so that I'm not covering up repressed feelings or anxiety with anesthesia, and so I'm dealing with things that need to be dealt with. I've found that another thing that has been good for my long-term mental health has been remembering as much as possible so that there's nothing hiding from my conscious mind that would gnaw at me, like repressed memories of when I've been traumatized or otherwise shamed in a toxic way. I try not to worry about things over which I have no control. Another thing to remember is that perfection is an impossible standard, so don't hold yourself (or anyone else) to perfectionistic standards. I've found that learning to recognize when someone is trying to manipulate me is an immense help. Along those lines, I try not to care about what other people might think, while still being mindful of the possible consequences of my actions or inactions. I try not to apply unhelpful labels to myself or others. I try to act in ways that are in my own self-interest (keeping in mind that self-harm and suicide are not in my best interest). Finally, I am open to trying things that have therapeutic value because when I tried taking antidepressants and antianxiety medication, a whole new world opened up to me. I would love to see an end to the stigma associated with mental-health-related issues because when I started tending to mine, things started getting better. If everyone in the world felt free to tend to their own mental health issues, the world would be a much better place

Dylan, your amazing and what your doing is so inspiring. As someone who has been struggling with their mental health recently your words are helpful and comforting. Other than donating to your charities, is there any other way we can support you out there? Any way to send you things you may need ?
