haha I'm not the only one There is also another fight with 6"6 dude which Nick lost after 3 rounds (he was fighting with broken hand otherwise it would be ez win) but dude had legs at height of Nick chest xD
As someone whos been training Muay Thai for two years now, this is so ingenious. It’s clear Nick had a defined strategy from the beginning, he knew he had no chance in clinch because of knees, and Kim’s arms striking down like holy retribution ruled out most boxing. So Nick took advantage of Kim’s good checks which you can see in the first half of round 1, and mixed levels/delayed shooting his kicks to bait out the thigh. Like a hatchet cutting down a giant oak, he kept doing this, from different angles, even. I don’t think even Kim realized the position he was in until taking this step, and realizing that he was already timber. 3:12
nah you could see it in his face he realized it wayy earlier what was going on. dont disrespect professional fighters, they generally know their sht. what he couldnt come up with was an answer
When I watched the match and Nic started going at him I instantly thought of a lumberjack chopping down a tree. It’s funny to me that you used that as an example and it makes sense.😂
Still most probably the all time record in size difference in any stand up compat sport. Nicholas Pettas stands 178cm/5'10", Younghyun Kim 217cm/7'1.5", thats a difference of 39cm/15.3"
@@aromaz6401 Yes, 7'1.5" or 217 cm to be exact. And it seems to be an all time record. The size difference is 39 cm, which is 15.3 inches. Even in professional Boxing you cant find such a difference. There was one fight in 1985 or so when the difference was 38 cm or 14.9 inches. So Pettas most probably holds an all time record and maybe he himself doesnt know about it. 🙂 And about the korean: Contrary to his fellow countryman Hongman Choi, he simply had no punch and kick resistance, this was Hongman s biggest strenght. Younghyun had basically a glass chin like Ruslan Karaev for example, he couldnt take a shot.
@@chrisbach1533 It's interesting I always thought Hongman Choi's chin was so good cos of his big head from gigantism. But this guy has the same big head and doesn't have anywere near the same chin. Meaning its really just a fucking crapshoot if you got a chin or not, pure genetic lottery lol.
Yes thats true. For some reasons Younghyun had a glass chin and couldnt take hard shots. He later also got KOed heavy by Ruslan Karaev, then he stopped his K-1 career which ended in a 2-2 record, 2 wins on points and 2 losses via KO. But it was already visible in his debut against the old Ryushi Yanagisawa, who was at the age of 35 way past his prime and more or less helpless. But Younghyun was unable to KO him. So or so usually people with gigantism can take some shots. The biggest Heavyweight Champion in Boxing to this day was Russian Nicolai Valuev, who was 7'/213cm weighing around 325lb/147kg. David "Haymaker" Haye was asked once which of his opponents could take the most shots, and he said Valuev by far, and i assumed it was because of his large bones etc.. It seems Younghyun was an exception being so large and having such a glass jaw. On the other hand Semmy Schilt's chin wasnt great either, and when i see his face structure, he maybe had gigantism too. He was KOed by Badr Hari once in 1-2 minutes in the first round, was unable to take one hard hand without going down. While Hongman took all shots from Hari without going down once.
allthough born in Greece, he moved to Denmark at age 3. If you look at his citizenship, it believe it says Danish, not Greek. then moved to Japan at the age of 18 years and 2 months. Has also trained for a period of time in the US, but his main base is in Tokyo Japan as leader of his own Dojo.
Think he considered himself as greek as Danish, everytime we met, he would say danish, but thats what people who live in multiple countires does, i do the same.
And yet, such a doll, he's such a nice guy, i mean i knew he did fighting, but this was the first time i saw the whole fight here, im impressed. Sure the other opponent was big, but also slow, Nick still had to stay clear of the shots as if he do land one it would hurt.
if anyone could it would be mr junkfood himself ;) Can boast having the pleasure of sharing a meal of junkfood with both him and his miss's they are so enjoyable ^^
No need to say sorry. I'm Danish and have trained at "The Danish Karate School" where Pettas started his training. So naturally you can't help but hear stuff about him from the older fighters :o))
The way this dude landed that spin kick, I'm like "I'm looking at a Power Ranger right now, I have to be." AND that kick to the head near the ropes, that dude is gigantic and should be able to counter a leg reach that far up but he just gets NAILED.
It is how your mind works. If you keep getting hit in your legs or body, you tend to lower your head guard. The longer it goes the more obvious it becomes. I remember at fencing tournament I did 1 hit in a head, then switched and hit the leg. Realising that, I switched back and kept doing that. Match was very short but I was so proud of my tactics (I was in middle school back then). Ofc there was protective gear, no need to worry.
Wow I didn't even know Korea had another huge fighter who fought before Hongman Choi. Why do they keep bringing in these huge guys to fight instead of smaller, faster, better skilled fighters?
Nicholas copped a smack at the start that's not going to buff off quickly and didn't take a side step as Young teeped forward. This fight is new to me.
Nice to see Nick in action after all the problems he has had,Kim wasn't much of a fighter though the organisers must drop the freak show turns and put some quality fighters in .
By the way, we know to japanese gentlemen back in Denmark, and those to have been in Denmark since late 1970´s, Both former Kyokushin Kai Kan and both 1st student of Sosai Mas Oyama.
Kim Young-hyun's actual personality is a really good person. Maybe because of his personality, he seems to be hesitant to hit his opponent in martial arts.
Since I was born in 1976, I don't know much about Jørgen Albrechtsen being a fake or not. I also don't know of any scandals involving Shihan Humberto Budtz (not Umberto Budz like you write), please be more precise in your statements. I don't think I have claimed that Nicholas Pettas was like Shihan Filho or Sensei Feitosa. I'm just a fan of Sensei Pettas and what he has accomplished in his life. I just want to train karate, I leave the politics and scandals to politicians :o))
Then by all means, please enlighten me. What is it that Shihan Budtz has said that is such a scandal. But please be specific, just stating that he has a big mouth and has made a scandal is really not enough. I need something more solid that I can investigate further. What matter are you talking about?
Congratulations about getting your 1.Dan from Sosai himself. But that still doesn't change the fact that you are inpolite when you call me "Kyokushin boy". Also, if you really were a true Kyokushin Dan holder. You would answer my questions and educate me, instead of insulting me. That would be the true Kyokushin way. If you feel that there is not enough room for a proper answer here, feel free to write me a PM. But your unsubstanciated allegations are worthless to me, sorry.
Damn Ludwig ain’t joking, this guy is BRUTAL
Lol guess we all came to find this video.
haha I'm not the only one There is also another fight with 6"6 dude which Nick lost after 3 rounds (he was fighting with broken hand otherwise it would be ez win) but dude had legs at height of Nick chest xD
Badr Hari was dude's name but he was Moroccan but on video quality it looked like it could've been China's flag and name was unreadable
That 6’6 dude is one of the best heavyweight kickboxers the world has seen.
Or at least he was
Sent here by Mr. Wig himself
this is the fight Ludwig was talking about
Lmfaooo
Thanks
It's a fucking David vs Goliath
I've been looking for it for the past 20 minutes. Thanks man. Never knew junk food japan guy was a certified badass as well as youtuber.
Ludwig was right. Absolutely picked the bigger dude apart.
Damn nick was a monster. He looked like the actual titan.
Makes me glad that chris won.
Far out. Ludwig wasn’t lying. I only knew Nic as Junk Food Japan guy and Chris Broad’s trainer. Didn’t realise he’s a beast in the ring.

i thought that there were like regulations about this kinda stuff but it's probably different overseas
Yes thats true. For some reasons Younghyun had a glass chin and couldnt take hard shots. He later also got KOed heavy by Ruslan Karaev, then he stopped his K-1 career which ended in a 2-2 record, 2 wins on points and 2 losses via KO.

Some of the heaviest hands I've ever heard, he never backed down, and those high kicks, wow
Well damn Ludwig he truly was a beast.
This guy is crazy that high kick was insane W chris

Think he considered himself as greek as Danish, everytime we met, he would say danish, but thats what people who live in multiple countires does, i do the same.
Nick was born a Spartan (born in Greece), grew up a Viking (moved to Denmark) and then became a Samurai (now lives in Japan).
And yet, such a doll, he's such a nice guy, i mean i knew he did fighting, but this was the first time i saw the whole fight here, im impressed. Sure the other opponent was big, but also slow, Nick still had to stay clear of the shots as if he do land one it would hurt.
Holy shit Ludwig wasnt joking
Mr. Affable had a great trainer
if anyone could it would be mr junkfood himself ;)
Can boast having the pleasure of sharing a meal of junkfood with both him and his miss's they are so enjoyable ^^
This was Chris Broad's coach Junk Food Japan wtf
That first shot of the size difference is NUTS - taking out the front leg little by little, Nick is unreal!
No need to say sorry. I'm Danish and have trained at "The Danish Karate School" where Pettas started his training. So naturally you can't help but hear stuff about him from the older fighters :o))
Nick is so effortlessly cool
Chris's sensei
these high kicks are insane, I did not know legs could move like that

This is like watching a mongoose fight a snake. It's one of the craziest fights I've ever seen. Omg.
Holy shit that axe kick tho
What a masterpiece of a performance!
the big guy falls down like a tree
Just the sound of those kicks make me hurt
Holy shit no wonder Chris won
Nicholas Pettas...nádhera !!!!!!!!!!
Wow I didn't even know Korea had another huge fighter who fought before Hongman Choi. Why do they keep bringing in these huge guys to fight instead of smaller, faster, better skilled fighters?

He clearly did some homework on how to fight knee knockouts
Nicholas pettas - Denmark ! - Born in Greece
jajaja cortas la raíz y el árbol cae solo.
I had always wondered what happened to Jaws from the James Bond films!
Is that guy playing in slow motion?
By the way, we know to japanese gentlemen back in Denmark, and those to have been in Denmark since late 1970´s, Both former Kyokushin Kai Kan and both 1st student of Sosai Mas Oyama.

Not taking anything away from Pettas, mind you. That was awesome strategy the way through. Well fought!
2:24, the ax kick to the head right here is disgusting
Греческий Воин!
Kim Young-hyun's actual personality is a really good person. Maybe because of his personality, he seems to be hesitant to hit his opponent in martial arts.
Holy shit Nick destroyed him
