Phil agonizing and then folding really suggests he has a 10. I was surprised Daniel didn't seem to take that quads/boat blocker effect into account. Not saying it's an easy call but Daniel could have taken longer to think about it.

It was only 100K more to put into a pot of 300K.
So he Nagreanu had to win it only roughly a bit less than every 4th time to make this call profitable.
Negreanu thought Patrick does this really only with TTs and therefore folded.

Insane hand with 3 legends. I think Daniel was in a brutal spot but he didn't think long enough about Phil Ivey's pause time on the river. This hand is quite similar to a hand between Esfandiari, Bob Safai and Durr many years ago. The reason Durr was able to fold trips is because Esfandiari took a really long time to fold on the turn signaling that he also had trips essentially allowing Durr to put Safai on a flopped boat. If Daniel thought about the action longer, he could have put Ivey on a 10 making more likely Antonius is value betting 5s full

My jaw hit the floor watching this. The only way I'm bet/folding river like that with 9s full is if an OMC with a 0% AF makes that move in Patrik's spot. Even then I probably still call it off because of the pot odds. Just an unreal decision, especially after Ivey tanked, suggesting he had let go of strong value like Tx, which would completely eliminate quads and make it less likely Patrik has QT. Maybe Daniel's PTSD from Gus' quads in the old HSP days played a factor.

    • @HopyHop1

This is the craziest hand. Donkey shove from Patrick made Daniel fold the best hand. Completely understand Daniel's fold, I would have folded too. Patrick completely overplayed his hand, as he had nothing more than a bluff catcher in this spot. Antonius played this rly rly horribly, but it worked out as Daniel assumes he isn't bad enough to shove with 5s. I would love to say Antonius was making the highest level bluff of all time to push daniel off precisely 9s, but he said himself later on in the show that he thought it was a value shove.

What a beautiful game man. Patrick will def learn from that hand though and I doubt he will overplay his hand again, at least against Daniel and this group.

people say he turned his 55 into a bluff!Nonsense,he knows no QQ out there,no TT,no 99 (prob thinkis Dnegs raises that pre) so Patrick just thought he had the best hand and hoping D calls with a Tx

Im wondering if patrick levelled up and turned his boat into a bluff, or he really thought he’s ahead and he’s targeting a 10 🤔

Dnegs river bet was too small, patrick probably put him on a strong 10 with the sizing and jammed for value… cant blame him with the number of combos on this board. Just cannot be bet folding with 99 here. ‘Should’ve just checked river’ is a hilarious line in this spot. Putting opponents on single combo quads is a bad strategy in nl cash.
