I was born in 1975. I recall Estee Lauder their overnight repair serum being around since the mid 80s but don't seem to recall any other serums available at this time. I am from San Diego and recall that some older women went to Tijuana to get Retin A for anti aging without a prescription. Also an esthetician I knew early 2000s exclusively used Clarins products, they have a good reputation. Princess Diana's skincare routine is very much like her diet, a product of the era in which she lived. Great video Ms Laura thank you.
Retinol was not a household term or product back in the 90s. I enjoyed this video - anything Princess 👑 Diana ❤️ Looking forward to your teenage skin care routine 🥰
I remember the first time I used Clarins skincare- it was like a big deal for me because I was a teen and it was more expensive than anything my mom had used at the time. I felt so fancy leaving the makeup area of the mall after using that skincare!
Thank you for sharing . She was so lovely and kind , I don’t know anyone that said a bad word about her . I was heavily pregnant at the time and when I saw it on the news I burst into tears it truly felt the good had been taken too soon . My then husband and my friend and myself got on a train with flowers for her a couple of nights later and went to Kensington palace where she lived and there was so many people but the breath taking thing was the flowers all laid out 👀 it was just a sea of them as far as the eye could see and people were handing out candles and even though dark it was just lit everywhere..and the smell of flowers ..wow ..just all you could smell was flowers and every one was quiet taking it all in and gently sobbing at the feeling of total loss and being there as it just felt so surreal . And still people were coming in that night and for a long time after . I’m glad you did her ..its a tribute to her but I think that what made her skin look good was also her natural radiance she carried because I remembered when it came out about Charles cheating and her skin looked dull..as expected ..but when she moved on and felt better and realised we loved her not him her confidence shined again .she said after revelations about him she wanted to be the Queen of our hearts..but she already was .💛🤍🇬🇧
I remember reading somewhere that toners back then weren't to exfoliate rather it was use as a ph balancer due to people used to wash their face with a bar of soap that wasn't acidic enough for the face. so stuff we have today i don't think was a thing until just recently so i'm not really shocked that a lot of products used was the bare minimum. considering that genetics plays a factor of who has good skincare or not, based on your feedback that means (i'm assuming) she had really good skin that didn't need the extra benefits. during the 90's i remember everyone using physical exfoliates and stuff like retinol and acids weren't talked about until recently.
Oh I was a teen in the early aughts as well. The one thing that stands out in my mind about skin care at that time was how harsh it was. We all wanted to burn our skin off with strong salicylic acid face washes and creams. I remember lots of witch hazel, alcohol toners (sea breeze), Proactive commercials, and Clearasil pads.
Enjoyed this video. I remember when Princess Diana got married in 1981. My mother had just passed away the previous November and it was somewhat of a distraction for me that summer. I would love to see a video on Duchess Kate's makeup and skincare.
Like the idea to see your old skin routine. Could you also do something on Goldie Hawn in the future? I would be interested in her skin care, workout and healthy eating routines. She looks like she is still really healthy.
Clarins products typically don’t work on me unfortunately (I have sensitive, rosacea-prone skin) but I love the brand’s ethos and the scents of their products. All their products smell divine. I do have one Clarins favorite and that’s their new Cleansing Oil. It’s very lightweight but does the job of removing everything.
Princess Diana was so beautiful and fresh faced. I was in my early teens when she became engaged to Prince Charles . The frenzy she caused with everyone wanting to emulate her clothes, make up and hairstyle. Blue eye liner and lip gloss was all the rage back then. A breath of fresh air and so very much loved for all time 💕💕💕💕💕
I started using Clarins in my 20s (the late 90s!) and still do. Have never found anything better for my skin. I remember where I was when I heard she died.
I’ve always loved princess Diana as well. She died three months after my husband & I were married; so I cannot believe she’s been gone for almost 25 years! Princess Anne is another one that I like because she’s a go-getter & does a lot of good as well.👑
Thank you for doing Princess Diana skin routine which I requested some time ago. Your skin looks lovely but it always does anyway . Of all the skin routine you have done for us in the past which one do you do everyday now. Take care hope your feeling better soon Xxxx
Princess Diana had rosacea so she may not have used retinol on a regular basis. Retinol formulas have come a long way in being less sensitizing and potent, more time released, since the ‘90s. I read she used avocado masks to sooth her skin. Clarins is ahhmazing , thanks for the review.
I used to be a manicurist and I had one customer who was from Paris and she had such lovely skin like yours and I asked her what she was using and she said that she swore by Clarins. That was back in the 90's. Do you know if they still make these products. I'd love to give them a go. By the way, You are such a naturally beautiful woman with a beautiful smile!
Your skin looks really good after using these products - I actually thought you were rubbing cleansing cream on top of your makeup at one point then realised you were just applying moisturiser to a bare face!
Omg!!! You said dream from Gap!! I completely forgot about that!! Does it still exist. I want to smell it again and go down memory lane. Wow thanks for the reminder ❤️
Your skin looks good tho, also apply the moisturizer in the outside direction of your face this way will firm the skin then pat pat lightly on the skin at the end
Hi Laura! A couple of years ago I showed you my Avon vintage pieces that my grandmother gave me. I have them here in a box and they're just collecting dust. I would love to send them to you, if you would like to have them and give them a good home.
Nobody knew about retinol in the 90s, just FYI. I know I'd never heard of it back then....and by the way, Diana could use the milder products PROBABLY because England's atmosphere is more moist -- less bright sun, less harsh heat, and their WATER is softer as well......
So Princess Di had nothing to do with the Lush Gorgeous moisturizer, other than that she once met with Lush Founder Mark Constantine and revealed her skincare routine to him. He then based this cream on her favorite moisturizer, without her knowledge and she never tried it, it didn’t even come out until the mid 2000’s, so I wish this rumor that Gorgeous was formulated for her wasn’t so widespread. Maybe a more discerning person can figure out which moisturizer she actually used!

Fun fact: when Queen Elizabeth ll was planning her coronation, she comissioned Clarins to create the red lipstick that she wore!
I am fascinated by the Royals and never knew that fact. Clarins is easily one of my absolute favorite brands of products for skincare and beauty. 🖤
Retinol was not a household term or product back in the 90s. I enjoyed this video - anything Princess 👑 Diana ❤️ Looking forward to your teenage skin care routine 🥰
I was a manager for Clairins they were the one that taught upward strokes for applying .

indeed! sadly she married into a family of sociopaths & narcissists. that poor woman. so kind & compassionate.
Love Princess Di!

same now with retinols
Yeah my mom was a teen in the 80s and I had to introduce her to gentler products as an esthetician now
@@vintageincolor lucky she has you!!
@@vintageincolor the hair products were so harsh. Mousse and aqua net. Dippity doo stay away from careless smokers.
I remember that Sea Breeze & Clearasil pads nearly asphyxiating scent.. 😖
Your voice is so soothing. I had a bad day and now i relax with you !
Your videos are excellent Laura Jane. I watch them all ❤

Love Princess Diana! And I HIGHLY recommend a sonic toothbrush!
Thank you for a lovely video xx It was awful when she passed 🥺 she’s so loved here in the UK xx
Thank you! I know so sad

Amazing Video. Diana was such an Icon ❤
Omg I was waiting for you to upload a princess Diana video🥺❤️
Awe yay !!
I loved to know Princess Diana's skincare routine. Awesome video! ✨💖
You mentioned Gap Dream perfume, I wore Gap Heaven and LOVED it! I had forgotten about it.
Oh thays right! I wore that for a kinute too. Forgot all about it until now.

Loved Princess Diana, but, her makeup and hair, always on point in the 1990's, would look a bit dated these days. She truly was one of a kind. 😪💗
I really enjoyed this video , I love princess Diana
Thanks for watching
Thank you, Laura! I feel like going to Lush to buy that moisturizer now! 🥰
I’ve always loved princess Diana as well. She died three months after my husband & I were married; so I cannot believe she’s been gone for almost 25 years! Princess Anne is another one that I like because she’s a go-getter & does a lot of good as well.👑
Princess Diana was a beautiful woman inside and out. I use Clarins and it is pretty good, especially their eye serum!
Thank you for doing Princess Diana skin routine which I requested some time ago. Your skin looks lovely but it always does anyway . Of all the skin routine you have done for us in the past which one do you do everyday now. Take care hope your feeling better soon Xxxx
Clairins is amazing they are always improving their product.
Such a lovely reminder of and tribute to the 👑 of hearts.💞
This whole video was like asmr. Loved it ❤

We love a Lush moment! 🛀
So many of their products are made here in Canada! 🇨🇦
I remember that day too. So sad! I remember crying...
Your videos are calming
I know in the nineties, I used Nivea co q 10. I remember them selling rock retinol, and there was prescription tretinoin. Great video.
Towards the end your skin looked fab!
I love Clarins products. ❤
Loved the video ✨👋
I love Claris!
What an amazing video!!

Haha I know I looked online but I didn’t see it on their website it was my childhood perfume
I’ve used Clarins for years now ❤
Your skin looks good tho, also apply the moisturizer in the outside direction of your face this way will firm the skin then pat pat lightly on the skin at the end
I was wondering if you could do a video about Fran Drescher. She was an icon in the 90's and she played in The Nanny ❤
I love Princess Diana too bad she's not with us anymore 😔
Retinol came out in the 90s for over the counter use before then you could only get it from a doctor
Beautiful 💆🏼♀️
Laura, what kind of work do you do? Health care, sales, teacher… just in general?
love your channel
I always thought Lady Di used Sisley skincare.
Hi Laura! A couple of years ago I showed you my Avon vintage pieces that my grandmother gave me. I have them here in a box and they're just collecting dust. I would love to send them to you, if you would like to have them and give them a good home.
Ok sure send me an email laurajaneatelier@gmail.com thank you 😊
Sofia Loren please
I think princess Diana had rosacea. So the sensitive skin routine would make sense.
Laura, what is your usual skin routine? I am very curious.
Cool
If you want something to exfoliate your skin, then maybe you could try a facial scrub. There’s a lot of them out there.
I used clarions- broke out with a rash..fo rye a tu tooth brush, I only need 2 modes, on and off.
I’ve always wondered what her skincare routine was.
Thanks so much !!
She also used Elizabeth arden.
It would be nice to know if the products made a difference in your skin.
Hi where do you get your information thank you
Are Clarins suitable for those with sensitive skin?
I hope your doing ok sweetie.
Would you be willing to do a video on gia carangi
I didn’t knew she liked lush cool
She didn’t, it didn’t exist before her passing
I don’t like Lush packaging either so I usually transfer the product to vintage jars.
Wow £17 now it’s 47

The sound of those lotions squishing on your face though, lol. 😬😵💫

Love Princess Diana and The Duchess Kate but absolutely cannot stand Megan Markle.
You’re way too heavy handed with the cleanser !!!!!
