There would have to be restrictions on an arcade version. Shorter time limit and a higher point requirement for extra lives. But at the same time, a short time limit would defeat the purpose of extra lives. People would feel cheated. They would have to try to configure the game to where players aren't waiting around for someone else's game to end. I'm pretty sure Namco thought of it, but thought it'd be better to just keep it as a console/mobile/pc game instead.
I really don't think this is an actual NES game. I think it's just made to look a lot like one. You can tell that it isn't one by the SFX and background music.
I learned that when there’s more than four tiles of sprites in one row they’ll do that. What’s even crazier is that they purposely do that for READY and GO! This game blows my mind
Sprite flickering is a common visual artefact on the NES / Famicom, since the graphics chip can not display more than 8 sprites on a display line. What's actually amazing is that this is a real port, not another doofus / boring pseudo 8-bit game!
Japanese version of NES(Famicom) has extend sound mix port. Namco N163 (MMC chip) is using this port, (like KONAMI VRC6 etc...) so we can here this gorgeous music.
@@senobeya I had a feeling that's how this port was made possible. But at the same time, there's no way this can run on an NES as opposed to a Famicom, since the pins for the sound expansions have been moved to the bottom of the console.
Most japanese companies tend to stick with the limitations of these consoles. This is the reason Mode 1 was the most used mode on the Super NES. Even I could make a Mode 0 game look great. Mode 0 is basically the “NES color“ mode of the SNES in a sense where there's 3 colors per tile out of one of the 8 palettes per layer.
it does work on the real hardware you just need to modify it slightly if it's an NES, but it should work fine on a stock Famicom (due to the Famicom having some extra channels that the NES has disabled)
This makes me want to see an arcade version of this Pac-Man CE
It really deserves it

@@tygibson7190 All they'd need to do is bump the difficulty up. Add an extra ghost or two (like Sue and/or Tim). Advertise it as it's own thing.

So after a decade of waiting, that NES rom of Pac-Man Championship Edition is finally released...AND BECOMES AN OFFICIAL VERSION

Nope it's a real nes game I have the ROM, and have played it on an emulator. edit: ROM not room
@@TotallyGoodatGames
Its actually an NES game and it does work, you can download a rom and it'll work
@@TotallyGoodatGames "You can tell that it isn't one by the SFX and background music." have you ever heard about the expansion chips?
ITS A OFFICIAL VERSION?!!
Well I can Belice its a Fan rom, but it turn a official game?
I love how some sprites flicker out when there’s a lot happening on screen that’s so cool
Well, it's an actual NES game.
@@Kirbman that’s true, it was supposed to be a game on the nes but didn’t make it
@@RosagYT No, it's a newly made NES version of a game that was released in 2007.

Holy crap nice run dude! I just broke 300k myself and learned a lot from watching this run!
Subbed
Congrats on 200
I now *demand* someone to make demakes of Jr. Pac-Man and Super Pac-Man!
This couldn't be an actual NES game, though it does visually look like a pretty convincing late-life NES game.

@@esmooth919 well everdrives exist and have the sound expansion chip so a nes can actually run it
Can't wait for them to make a snes version with 2p support
Only if someone did the Demake Version Of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for either NES or SNES what do yaw guys think.
I wonder where Ki (tower of Druaga, as a fruit) appears???
This is a brilliant demake!
But does it work on real Famicom hardware?
“But does it work on real hardware?“, now where have I heard that line before?
@Cody The Fox Yes! Correct! 😁

It works on emulators, so presumably it would work on real hardware if you had the right chip.
Check the internet archive.

What are all the achievements to this game?
how do you play this on switch?
I'm on day 2 trying to figure this out as well.
Namco Museum Vol. 1
Wonder what controller was used for this run; the stock Switch Joy-Cons would be bad for this game I think.
They're actually not. The left stick works pretty well for this. But I'm old school; give me an arcade stick any day.
Fda?
Holy shit dude. Show me your ways
