I know there's only so much that can be done with respect to the event but I'd love to see more technical breakdowns, interviews with the mechanics, looking at the bivouacs, the logistics that goes into putting an event like this on. And **PLEASE** show us more discussions with the privateer teams/riders/drivers. To me - and I'm sure to many others - they are what gives Dakar the spirit of the sport. Sure it's nice to see who wins, but it's much more exciting to talk to the people who have given their all just to be there and to follow their journey though the stages. The folk who are doing it "unsupported" though are the most exciting, would love to hear from those competitors in particular.
I tip my hat to the competitors, especially the motorcycle and Quad riders. This is a very tough race/ endurance marathon. The desert is more than happy to punish every mistake to the maximum. May fortune smile upon you all!
I really hoped the route will include several countries like the Paris Dakar used to be. I have nothing having a race in this part of the world. Definitely Egypt, Jordan, UAE and Oman could have been included.
@@metal4ever516 The least argument I would care about. In perfect world I would say Cairo to Dakar rally or Paris to Cape Town and only then Paris to Dakar.
Can we not have the introduction done in french please? If a Frenchman has to be the face of Dakar then please either shut his voice off and use the English commentator's description alone or have him speak in french with English subtitles but don't try and have both babbling at the same time. If the Saudi's can find someone to speak English to most of the watching world why can't the organisers? It's now the Dakar rally. Not the Paris Dakar so French is no longer needed. Please!
These promotional videos are too heavy with images and not enough technical information. Where do I look for descriptions of the classes? Technical details on the engines/chassis/teams? It is nice to promote, but you need to service the motorsport fans.
This was a great preview! Thanks! Although Ive known of the Dakar throughout my life, this will be my 1st following it live. I think in good motorsports coverage fashion...some onboards would be cool if possible, some out on course coverage if possible, service park coverage, daily wrap ups, driver interviews throughout the rally, coverage of the classic, technical info from drivers/ about cars. Im excited, and if you guys at redbull cover the race like you did with this preview, I think you'll do a fine job! Looking forward to this historic rally!! 🎉👏😊
What about Monaco - Dakar rally? Sure, competition is not as strong, but is it important? The most important that they go to Dakar over Sahara desert. Remember Thierry Sabine. This Saudi Dakar is like a joke a bit. Feels not right. But the race nevertheless is great. Obvioulsy not the challenge once it was.
I'm 40 years old and have been following since I was 6 years old. I remember Paris Dakar and it was especially grueling back in the days. Deadly accidents every year and often tuareg bandits on the Mali stages. It was nuts.
@@jonpetter8921I heard that this may be the Last year of Audi competing in Dakar. With their new F1 Team there ist Not alot Money left in the Motorsports Department...

To Red Bull and more importantly, the FIA - stop doing this. Stop taking Saudi money for sportswashing. I'd watch the rally if it was Paris to Dakar, or even South America. I won't give the time of day to oil barons with no respect for human rights.
I'll give a pass, the only country wanting to stage the Dakar rally, actually. Then what about route something like Calgary - Ensenada? From Canada to Mexican Califonia Baja. Through Utah and Arizona desert landscape. That would be cool!
The top mech engineers dream testing the best tyres to steering system bike vs army trucks no limits just who's the best in the toughest conditions we can find .... Then head to the snow to test the other end I love ralley ... No pit stops just helicopters if you break down ... Like millitary racing ... True extreme sports .. mental mech engineering and physical drivers fitness ... The best of the best ...
Instead of countries famous for human rights abuses, maybe we can find something better in future years... Southern African countries, Central Asia like Mongolia or Kazakhstan? No country is perfect, but many are better.
I don't care much about human rights, but when the Iraq war was going on I allways thought how great place to stage a desert rally, so I am happy that Saudis could stage a rally in this region. What I don't like and it is very important to me that rally is happening in only one country and its too short and I hate loop stages and loop rally route. When I started to follow this rally it was Paris to Dakar, Paris to Capetown, Paris to Beijing. I love point to point races where just the distance gives a huge respect to it. So I agree, rally must change. So I agree with your second part of the post. What about simething like from Calgary, Canada to La Paz, Mexico? North America could be a good sell.
Dakar is much better in South America, much more different terrain, varied landscapes, in Saudi Arabia always the same thing, sand and some small rocky hills
It is all about Aramco oil can pany has all the rights to take oyt oil and sell to the world. American establishment for the last 100 years trillins of barrels were sold to the world. Aramco is the biggest sponsor of Dakar so all dirty money nothing legal

I've been watching this event for a few years and the coverage has continually improved. Thanks.
When reporting rally, show as cars, cars driving and desert. Please no people, no interviews. Interviews are so boring, they allways say the same...

the saudi's are buying everything for themselves, racing, football, boxing. They want it all. eventually they'll have no more oil but all the sports.
Very difficult to listen to it with the original audio in the background.
I turned off it’s like listening to 2 people arguing over each other.
Lower The volume of The original audio when doing The Voiceover translations. Its so hard to understand

yeah, it got cancelled in 2008 because of terrorism. sad that theyre still using the legendary name in saudi
