- Nick did a pretty good job with his pasta in the Parmigiano Reggiano wheel.
He made fresh pasta from scratch and I have to say the recipe wasn't too bad. I'd just change two or three things about his recipe, but all in all Bravo Nick!

Thanks Vincenzo!! A true honor.
Long way to go Nick, that mouse wasn't it tho. Nice pasta
hi dad
I thought you were gonna put the mouse in the pasta and eat it :)
hi
I didn't have a problem with the hamster on the wheel. LOL
You should have "That's a cute little animal, but he does not belong on the Parmigiano wheel" printed on to a t-shirt and sell it.
Hahahaha that’s a nice idea 🤣
I would buy that
@@vincenzosplate better yet that cute animal as a super saiyan
At least he didn't put green peas on the top.
Thank you very much, Vincenzo, for sharing your wonderful reaction video with us.
Greetings to Suzanne, to Sebastian, to your familiies in Italy and in Australia and to you from the Swiss Kitchen Dummy.
Hahaha yeah that's true 👏🏻
Many thanks to you my friend as always
I think I would rather have peas on the top than a damn rodent.
You know, Vincenzo, I've had, "Cheese Wheel Alfredo." They made it with just the pasta water and the hot pasta, in the hollowed out rind of the Parmaggiano Regiano. Nothing else. I don't even remember if they used any butter. But it didn't matter - it was the best Alfredo I've ever had in my life! No heavy cream, but still tasted like cream.
I have no clue what Nick was doing. And with a last name like Di Giovanni? "He make his ancestors cry," as Uncle Roger would say!
He had a really bizarre technique and I wasn't even that impressed. Indeed, our Italian ancestors are knocking on their graves now. Hahaha!
If it didn't have butter it's not authentic Italian 😢
I learned the secret of italian cooking by watching these videos.
Less amount of ingredients, but high quality grade ingredients.
That is the key to italian cooking.
as an italian i can confirm that , specially on pizzas
Wrong. They use low number of cheap ingerdients
Well said Daniel 👏🏻 that’s the secret
Daniel when you use top quality ingredients, people will tell you that it tastes like you made it with love. 🎉
As MPW says, 'perfection is lots of little things done well' - that includes ingredient selection.
Imagine how beautiful the pasta could move in the wheel when the pasta portion would be smaller 🥹
Exactly 😍 that would’ve been much better
@@vincenzosplate and it would look more beautiful!
@@vincenzosplate once my kitchen here finished I will cook a spaghetti carbonara and record it for you, and I promise you, you will be proud of me after!!! 🙏🏼
I hope to a reaction from you!
If the pasta portion had been smaller, he'd have a smaller congealed mass of broken cheese sauce. No hot pasta or hot pasta water, just a mediocre heavy cream mornay with garlic. That isn't going to save this mess, just make it look a bit less disappointing, like that mountain of shredded parmigianno he topped it with. If there's one good thing about Nick's technique, it's that he knows that cheese is the best product to use when hiding your shame.
The mouse was very smart - stick to the cheese, and avoid the pasta. What a terrible waste of a fine Parmigiano wheel. Nice review Vincenzo 👍
Yeah well said 👏🏻
It’s not a freaking mouse it’s a hamster

It is my goal that I must educate everyone about this kinds of content, I'm glad I was able to convey the message to you.
I really laughed so much when he put the mouth jajajajaj, wait Vincenzo responds every comment incredible.
Thank u for the video I learn a lot from them 😁

Hello, Chef. Can you please include most popular dishes from Pescara (Abruzzo)?

Bravo Vincenzo... well said.. Nick has a lot more to learn.
Exactly!
The older I get, the more I'm astounded by people's love for their pets.
The part with Gordon crying was hilarious. =^_^=
I agree the pasta looked terrible when it was thrown inside. So dry and it looked overcooked. I see why he let his mouse friend try it first!
Hahahaha 🤣🤣
I really enjoy Vincenzo's recipes and personality. God help the son in law or daughter in law in his future. I can't imagine the level of scrutiny they will receive. 😮
Yes, overcooked fresh pasta, dry and not highlighting the amazing Parma wheel. Should have been a celebration of the Parma with perfectly cooked fresh pasta. Chives doesn’t add anything. Vincenzo your observations 100% right on.
Many thanks Ed, I'm glad you agree with me!
Most restaurants use a grana padana cheese wheel
Since the parm wheel is double the cost and it’s pretty much the same effect on the pasta
What a reaction video Vincenzo lol

Is #5 the thickest or the honest setting? My kids bought me an adapter for pasta for the kitchenaid but I have 0 idea how to use it, I used it once and gave up
It depends on the machine, but if you look down at the wheels you can see when they are closer together as you change the setting.
Vincenzo with the Dragon Ball reference from the start, already the best react video ever!
Hahahaha thank youuu! I’m super glad you enjoyed that
One of the reasons the pasta broke was the lack of egg whites. Whites are what keeps it together!
When you replace it with oil, you get something like roux. It breaks! Obviously...
I don’t understand cheese wheel from a sanitary pov. How do you clean it and prevent moulding between use?
You are right. It will get mouldy if not use. The wheel its perfect for parties or for a restaurant who will use it everyday. It is not recommended to get a cheese wheel for everyday use
To put a rat on that wheel?!?😵💫🔥
That was yuck 🤢
Yeah
It's a hamster
He actually put a little mouse on top of this expensive cheese, didn't wash his hands and kept on eating the dead pasta???!!????!!!! 😢😢😢😢😢
I know, it was such a horrible and heart wrenching sight to see. 😢
Wow a creature on the cheese. If that went on my cheese, I would throw the whole thing away to include a dead creature.
Hahahaha I feel you. That's disgusting
That's a trip to the bathroom!
Hahahaha 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Secondo me, that's a trip to an emergency room!!!
This video is not for the faint of heart, with the chef's little friend at the end 😳 Also, that amount of garlic is enough to burn a hole through to an oil bed in Saudi Arabia, let alone through my stomach 😫
Disturbing...
Lost me at heavy cream. Left with the rat crawling on supper.
Completely gross and disgusting
It's a hamster but still disgusting
I would much rather eat Guga's Wagyu cheese wheel pasta. 🤷
Definitely!
Would love to see him reply. If he did this on episode one of masterchef, he would have been out. Rodents on food... yeah, lost some respect there.
“Some respect”…he lost a lot of it from me.
Same here
0:28 Honestly Vincenzo, that actually called for the F Bomb - like "WHAT THE F!!!!" I promise you would have been forgiven for that. 🤣 But I don't get ruining a good wheel of cheese for that dish. I can promise you that the taste and texture is indistinguishable from just adding the appropriate amount of cheese to the saute pan. EDIT: regarding the rat on the cheese, I wouldn't let Nick bring me an unopened can of soup if I was starving. Not only is that unhygienic, it's disgusting. I would never eat anything he prepared.
Me neither actually ahhaah
the dry pasta killed me.
Can somebody please explain what is supposed to happen to the cheese wheel after that pasta gets eaten? Is it to be thrown away? Or scrape the surface and then use as a normal cheese? It must still be several kilograms of cheese there...
With Nick, he probably threw it away, I can’t stand that I am better than though attitude. In all reality, it would be scraped out and reused
omg when i saw the sad gloopy overcooked pasta i GASPED
Long af pasta is historical. Lady and the Tramp (1955) where the two dogs eat the same noodle from 1 plate and end up kissing, is emblematic of this long pasta thing -- maybe shorter pasta is a modern trend since it's easier to package! :D Edit: Rather than chives, maybe some ripped up basil would be better. I like chives, but basil adds the same green, with a fresher less onion/garlicy addition especially since the sauce already included lots of pressed garlic.
Vincenzo, are you actually recording your real reactions, is it really the 1st time you've watched the videos, I always wanted to ask that ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 thank you in advance, lots of love
Yes I do record them in real time. It keeps me excited and anticipating what happens next. If you have other questions, feel free to ask it out.
I want to eat a nice pasta not have a heart attack from the heavy cream and butter.
Well said 👏🏻👏🏻
That white wine burns longer than my jackie.

Hahahaha thank you
He contaminated a cheese 🧀 wheel with a mouse 🐁 why? 😮
Nice creamy pasta cake 😂.
Hahahaha 🤣🤣
I'm impressed that Vincenzo knows Dragon Ball Z and Super Saiyan. Respect. Plus making fun of Gordon 😁😁😁

My god the mouse on the cheese why just why
That was incredibly revolting 🤢

Harvard graduate puts animal on the cheese. 🤦🤦🤦 He is a Harvard graduate ffs.
And the only reason why they put them on MasterChef was because he was a Harvard grad. It was his little gimmicky schtick. And now all of a sudden he’s supposed to be this respected chef. Whatever.
That’s completely disgusting
Shows having money still makes you schitt
Americans use a lot of garlic because they believe that Italians also use tons of it. That or they want to ward off vampires😊.
What a waste of a very expensive wheel. If I had all that money I’d be fru fru too

Grazie mille Dimiter

Vincenzo would you like some cheese from that wheel lol
Absolutely NO! Maybe before he put the little mous on that
@@vincenzosplate it might give the Parmigiano-Reggiano a better taste lol
I tried some 14-month aged grana padano, not even close to being as the 24-month aged Parmigiano-Reggiano.
and that stuff in the green bottle I don't know what the hell that is.
I’m glad my mom never used cream in pasta and kept the rodents outside
Happy to hear that too 😂😂
How much is a wheel like that, $500-$2000?
It would probably range in those.
why not just give Pesto his own little piece to enjoy?
Video after video I notice how Vincenzo respect food ... keep away animals, understand what ingredient to put first and what next, beside talking about food as being hahah kill the pasta, let them make love etc.
I always remember that I should never disrespect food. I should respect it because it feeds my soul and fuels my desire to cook.
20:33 XDXD
😂😂😂
I still do not understand 20 kilos of cheese is 1tirillion calories, how many villages is he feeding with this? I mean seriously is he feeding a few hundred people, perhaps I will see at the end.
one of the worst crimes I ever saw against such incredible ingredients.....
Not enough garlic. 2 heads is hardly enough ;)
Mouse don't have sphincter and can't hold its pee...
This is ridiculous!!!🤨😩
Well said my friend 👏🏻
I seriously wondered why he didn't put the pasta straight from the pot, into the parmigiano reggiano wheel and why he needed a sauce
He was mixing in the cheese anyway
And
Please
KEEP YOUR RODENT OUT OF THE CHEESE WHEEL
Well with the mouse on the side it can be still served in a chinese joint
Disgusting 🤢
nah it's a hamster but still yuck
Sir, let us Americans keep our milk creeeeeeammmmm, pleaseeeee we just love it....🤣
Ahahahah use my recipe to make itttttt

Mamma mia che disgrazia
Isn't this guy supposed to know what he's doing cooking-wise? Everything that was said here is spot on and quite frankly I'd have done a better job at it and I don't run a cooking channel.
I had seen this before & I felt so bad for italians-
Mamma mia 😭
Just because there’s a movie called ratatouille where a rat helps a chef cook doesn’t mean we can bring the rodents into the kitchen and put it on our food. If Nick wanted to feed his hamster some of that cheese why didn’t he just some from the hole he scraped out and give some to the hamster on the side or simply bring the cheese to where he keeps the hamster. Would have been much better and much cleaner.
Rodent on the cheese wheel is gross 🤢
Disgusting!!!
As much as I like Nick, what he did at 21:00 was just absolutely unacceptable and it made me a bit angry.

And wtf is with bringing your gerbil to the party? FML 🤦🤣

It's really not you're just being a bum about it
@@ulquiorracifer9205
A bum? A bum is someone who lives on the streets and probably does eat things that rats and mice touch. That’s certainly not me.
If you want to eat food off of something that a rodent who sleeps and walks in it’s own feces and urine has touched, then go right ahead. Just don’t expect civilized adults to come eat with you.
Why delete your comment? A civilized person would keep it there and stay true to their delusional opinion. You don’t seem to understand it’s literally his pet so it shouldn’t matter what he does with it. especially given the fact he literally said he would cut the piece it’s been on but that doesn’t seem to matter since boomers brains are only wired to believe all mouses are disgusting. so sad to see you guys hate on someone for no reason at all to begin with anyway.
@@ulquiorracifer9205
I didn’t delete it, youtube is doing something wrong again. I’m not a boomer, I’m a millennial. Read on if RUclips lets you and when you are done clutching your pearls in disbelief at the idea of a millennial who can still see animals as animals.
I don’t hate him, criticism is not hate. I just don’t think it is right to treat high quality materials and products that way. A mouse is disgusting. They sleep and walk through their own excrement. How do I know? I dated a girl who owned rats and Guinea pigs. Same things basically. That’s just how rodents are. He’s also not just some guy on the internet. He’s a professional chef. He is going to be held to a higher standard of conduct concerning food preparation and technique. Putting a rodent that can urinate or crap at almost any time, anywhere, on your food is not what people want from professional chefs. If he was going to have to cut it off, why not just cut off a piece for the mouse to eat at the start? It’s still wasting food, but it would have at least been sanitary.
he made a great big knot of pasta, too long too strained, and he made a garlic besciamella. Why do they have to complicate Italian food when it is so simple, and what's with the rat on the wheel? No need to add grated parmigiano in that sauce the goal of the wheel is to scrape it from the sides! And look how he holds the fork! Like a shovel!!
Such a mess 😂
And ruined beautiful wheel 😢
