MD-900 Firmware Update 2.2 includes
- Multisample-Support
- Drawable User LFO Waveforms
- New LFO waveforms
- New filter model (Korg IC35 inspired)
- FM
- AM & Ring Modulation
- Shaper works now (and is great)
- Envelopes can be switched to exponential
- New mod sources (e.g. Random, note# etc)
- New presets and Multisamples
- lots of Bug fixes and improvements
It is the best groovebox which I've seen with strongest quality of sound. But it's pricey is so spicy ❤

Very nice, would be great for classic cinematic drum & bass type pads, cold and grand. Do you think you'll try out the UDO Super Gemini at some point?
Hopefully, I'll get the chance to give it a try one day (although the Super 6 would be already great, too).
Im trying to choose between this or a waldorf iridium. Do you have any advice or preferences yourself?
Whilst Iridium would be one of my first choices for in-depth sound design (due to its Kernel Mode and different algorithms), the MD900 is a bit more hands-on. Also, I think that the MD900 sounds a bit beefier, more "analog" (I struggle with that term, tbh, but I guess that people get the idea).
Plus, the MD900 is constantly expanding towards a full-on live machine with its sequencer and arpeggiator which might be interesting, too.
I don't have a favorite, though, as both machines have their Pros and Cons for me.
Thanks I appreciate you taking the time to explain your thoughts. This deffo does give this unique fuller sound than I've heard on the iridium. So it's probs going to be my choice.
How is the sound design on this compared to the iridium? I'm more about speed really than depth as I make music more than sounds.
Have you played with the smaller version?
I'm tempted to get it as it's cheaper but I feel like it'd be crazy menu diving but it's hard to justify 1k more just for more knobs.
I think a cool vst plugin that controls the hardware would be a great addition like I use with my blofeld.

Yes. I’ve been involved in the factory preset design and all the presets you can hear in this video come with the firmware update 2.2

Crazy. People so hooked on genuine analogue but give me a great warm sounding box like this with multi timbrality? Sure!
Better than booting up a computer and getting side tracked - at least for me.
