- "Song of the Baikal-Amur Mainline" also known as the "BAM Song" or simply "Baikal-Amur Mainline", is a Soviet propaganda song from 1975 regarding the construction of railway line known as the Baikal-Amur Mainline, stretching from Siberia's Baikal Lake to the Amur River in the far-east of the Soviet Union. Written by Oscar Feltsman and Robert Rozhdestvensky, the lyrics tell of the hardships the workers constructing the long railway line will endure out of a voluntary longing to serve and better their country, and of the many coming trains that will cross this new and grand railway line they toiled on.

Modern artists: You can't just make music about any random thing and make it sound good!
Soviet composers: allow us to introduce ourselves.
😂🥳🇷🇺🇰🇿
Salute to workers who made this marvel ❤️love from India 🇮🇳
They had a song for almost everything
Well, the reason songs about the BAM exist in particular is because in 1976 Leonid Brezhnev declared the completion of the railway, with it being of extreme length and very expensive, to be one of the main goals of the tenth five-year plan, from 1976 to 1980, after the railway had entered construction in the 1930s with the clearing of lands for and the plans being upgraded to allow new diesel trains to use to tracks as opposed to the old steam trains in the late 1940s.
There comes a time when you have played so much Crisis in the Kremlin this song, its melody and lyrics, become stuck in one's mind and it becomes the only song they can think about...
Did you have an upload of "el pueblo unido jamas sera vencido" that got deleted?
That's how it's been with Ostalgie: The Berlin Wall for me lately, especially with the Albanian playlist. Still, I have to come back to the classics every now and then.
@@natedash11 I actually have clocked far more hours on Ostalgie than Crisis in the Kremlin. On Crisis in the Kremlin I have only played about 50 hours, according to steam, but Ostalgie I have spent close to 200 hours on
I love the officer song 👏
107 hours crisis in the Kremlin, and yes this song stuck
Soviets really did have a song for everything
(Edit) don’t worry comrades, I’m not criticizing it. Just pointing it out
Soviet people, lived and died, loved and hated, with a song on their lips.
and? They’re good songs nonetheless...
Первый раз слышу этот вариант. Очень камерный.
Such a banger
You mean BAMMER ?
Слышишь время гудит -- БАМ!
Man keep going let our children in the future know what was happened in this world
Тоже в первый раз слышу эту песню.
Слава всем строителям БАМа !
The Soviets probably have a song dedicated for Lenin's cat.
Well, the main reason they wrote a song about this railway line, in particular, was due to the size of the project, covering over 2,000 miles or 4,000 kilometers, and the length of time it took to complete, first beginning with the cutting of trees and clearing of land in the 1930s and nearing completion in the 1970s, although never officially being declared finished until 1991. It was also declared to be one of the main goals to complete, of the tenth five-year plan in 1976.
@@pairtineach1917 indeed, it's a significant event in the industrial history of Eurasia
Yeah I must admit this is a rather specific topic for a song, but hey it slaps, Слава CCCP!
I have hope in the small and remote possibility that this exists
Amur to the North (Anthem of the South Manchuria railway) : *finally a worthy opponent OUR BATTLE WILL BE LEGENDARY*
0:45 You have a mistake in subtitles. The singer sang not "we will write our names". He sang "we will write our line" (В биографию планеты, впишем мы свою строку)
This song gives me strong feelings of being a song of the UP here on chile
Hey man, I can give you some translations of Afghan songs from the Communist era if you’d like.

When you bring back a descendant of the Romanovs to rule over a independent Tuva. And after finally taking over Mongolia you’re next task is to build a transmongolian highway before the Soviets invade.
