- As the Stripers leave from the river and head back to the ocean, the fishing starts to slow down. So from here on out, I'll be fishing for bass and bluegill. And wait for the king salmon roll back in during the fall. So look forward to those videos! Had lots of fun this season and look forward to next year! I enjoy your videos. They’re informative so thanks. I live near Red Bluff. I heard the stripers start to show up in this area around mid May, June. They stay around through out the summer. After stripers the salmon shows up. Keep up the awesome videos!

I haven't gotten the chance to go striper fishing yet. Since they are leaving, where should I go to fish for them and would it be better to use a jerkbait or sardines?
The stripers are always in the Sf Bay/Delta area. The number of fish will just be less. I have had some luck using two poles. One with bait....anchovies/sardines and the other one with a lure of some sort. Gotta pay an extra fee for the 2nd pole.....$17.02 this year.
You can still catch stripers on jerkbait on Sac river! Best time is early morning or evening. Bait fish is good but have to go through a lot of dinks
They bite all year around. You will still be able to catch something as long as your dedicated.

As always, a good local fishing video. I'll be fishing in the the cooler mountain streams until I start salmon fishing in late September. The delta is just too hot for me.
