This is a masterpiece! I think that some people just troll the internet looking for beautiful art to give the thumbs down.
Some 0000 steel wool or 400 grit sandpaper are also good follow ups for those copper edges. Plus there are all kinds of videos about putting texture or patina on the copper for even more interest. Great project!

If you can't handily get a punch set, or don't want to pay for one, you can use a nail, then file it smooth on the back. Or better, a drill. Even a dremel.
Maybe you have answered this before but, do you die and treat your leather prior to layout and cutting? You mention using veg tanned but it seems pre-died? Thanks inspired by your work.
