@jeffbeck70 ...Yes!! I remember the salesman slipping the CD from his pocket to test the Pioneer player in the Soundstore in Cork, and I DID buy the unit :-)
Wow, she is about 53 and still looks amazing. Unfortunately, the audio isn't coming across so I can't really hear the clip, but I'm assuming she sounds as good as she looks. I found this interesting tidbit on wikipedia: For a number of years, What Hi-Fi? magazine considered Black's voice to be so pure, that it was used as an audiophile benchmark for comparing the sound quality of different high fidelity systems.
QUESTION: At the end of the very latest episode of "Parenthood"(NBC), Tuesday 10PM March 1st, this song faded out the episode. WHO sang that verision of this song?? Did anyone watch parenthood Tuesday night and hear what I'm asking about?? It's episode 18 and is still available on Hulu. My wife says Amy Winehouse and I say Pink. Please someone go to hulu and settle this for us! :)
>>blast them out like you used to Sadly, I don't think she can. I think she has "sung out" her voice after so many years of performing. The voice does change as one gets older. Ask any singer (especially opera singers!) Doesn't matter, though. I'm still a huge fan of Mary Black!
For years Mary, Karen Casey and Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh have been fighting in my heart to be considered my favorite Lady Irish Singer.
bet she is... she is amazing... every time...
