I'm guilty of overproducing. This week i set myself a use eq and compression only challenge. Made a really good track, and this helped me to see the importance of sound selection.
Track is mediocre at best. I really like your videos and the help you provide but I have to speak the facts here that this is way overrated (for me) sounds like he took a basic acoustic drum loop and added a 16th bass and made this cheesy melody with the most basic preset. Again, just my opinion as music is subjective.
We usually have similar taste in music but I'm not feeling this track. Thanks for the breakdown anyway, there's always something to take from your videos
10:54 Am I going crazy or do the note names on the notes in the piano-roll not seem to correspond with the notes they're on? e.g. The notes labelled "A♭2" are positioned on the C key (just below a set of two black notes). Seems like they're all transposed 4 semitones?
@@AutPen38 Oh, I see what's going on, I was looking at the black rows and assuming those were the rows for the black keys, but they're not, they're the rows outside of the scale.

Very interresthing that the melody performance now, after the distortions, have become more like a vocal interpretation that gives a more " humane" vibe then a " eletric piano". I dont have a program with that amoung of control, I am Just a beginner, but gave me the ideia to sing it to more easily have diferent types of intrepertation / attacks of the same notes.

I think you're going crazy. The A flat is the middle of the three black keys.

What Pro R preset did you use for the drums?
I dont remember but I tend to just edit the parameter on the spot depending on what I want as Pro R has a very simple workflow.
