  • Anyma has a 3 steps approach to get his vision to hit tracks. And that probably even broke the techno. And this is how he did it.

id also add that his sound design is what we in the underground were doing 10-15 years ago, some even further back. None of the sounds I hear in his music are particularly exciting to me. I can point you to old Robert Hood tracks that push sound design further eg. IMO He is making a polished sounding, more simplistic groove, and overall more commercially focused sound that has more mass appeal. Underground continues to innovate and move forward and focus on the artistry while guys like anima put on a big show.@@Alice-Efe

Imho, the artwork and the music and show is designed to impress, and thats a pretty boring approach. The whole theme of the A.I becoming sentient, is basically a theme in Progressive Trance and Techno since what?! 30 Years? In the sound Anyma there is nothing new, nothing special, just gigantism. the music and the show is not allowing to dive deep into something, it forces you to take up, but not to experience.. well explained how the music works. In my opinion this is the Idea of Hollywood transferred into electronic music.

Before Anyma was created and brought this transhumanism concept to light, I thought for a while about combining image and sound into a more intense experience (e.g. Hans Zimmer and directors). It was even more astonishing to see that it got so big. Eric Prydz has been doing this for years. What is underestimated in a project like this is the immense effort, which works most easily with a lot of contact and a level of awareness. You need a lot of resources to be able to implement something like that. I also noticed that anyma doesn't produce everything from 0 to 100% itself, but rather brings other professionals on board, e.g. with the song the sign (see involved). What's also notable is that Anyma brought the futuristic (which techno has always been) into the game at a time when global results were simultaneously stimulating awareness of advanced technology (AI at all levels). Coincidence?

I feel regardless of what the genre is called if you enjoy it you enjoy it to me it blends minimal techno with trance and melodic house into one genre.
I also feel Anyma probably isn’t the best artist to showcase for the style and some of its minimal techno elements listen to enough of the style and you will see that it is prevalent in the genre as much as trance and house elements are also prevalent
It’s a blend of pretty much everything.
That being said we could argue the fact what it’s called all year long if we spent more time just producing what we enjoy or listening to what we enjoy things would all be so much better in the long term why all the hate just do you pretty straightforward really.

This is not techno, not techno, this is Progressive, the most easy sound of electronic music ever. Progressive music takes elements from many styles and makes an easy listening, monotonic and hipnotic sound, with no sense at all, but its ok, seems like this is the new progressive music, also the style called melodic techno, is just more progressive.
Seems like beatport needs to sell music to new audience and divided sub generes of new progressive music.
techno, house, techhouse, deep house, deep techno, chicago, detroit, nyc. even old minimal, who came as a fashion new style of techno in the early 2000s, or even the latest bass music, has soul
in this case, this is just progressive, with elektro and techno elements, lot of reverb, and some animations, the kind of electronic music who listen a person that last week was listening...

@@dylansendeck9872 Ah really? If you visited my profile you'd see that I heard of that genre and even making it. It's a branch of EDM, still. Anything massively electronic and make you dance is EDM. That's that simple. Melodic techno is a subgenre of the subgenre.

Because techno was what it was and this barely falls under the same category. Think of swedish house mafia progressive house compared to echomen or lexicon avenue progressive house. Progressive house is the best example to take cuz the genre was destroyed during the hijacking. This isn't bitterness at all.
Let me ask you this you order a beer and i bring you a sugar flavoured verion made from strawberry and cheery. Now you tell me hey this isn't exactly the beer i wanted . I tell you drink it why are you so bitter .
Techno is one of the first genres of electronic club scene. It walked hand in hand with og house music so no one can break or make it at this point. We will always have what to compare it with.

@olartio2185 Thanks for the history lesson 👍 music changes and creativity shouldn't have any boundaries - at the end of the day. Techno is only a word. You are a part of everything that's wrong with 'techno music' with your snobby gatekeeping pish. It's only music and life is short.

I love the fact that new producers come in teying to emulate a artist spund thats already popular. They come in wanting to BE LIKE SOMEBODY ELSE.
and totally forget that music is like painting a picture. You do ir own unique style. U wouldnt draw a painting that already exist and use diff colors and call it your own😂
You need to learn music theory and music timing. Takes about a uear if you study everyday for 5 hrs a day.
Only then will you stattvseeing music as an expression and not a copy and paste tool

It is indeed sad that today's people making music, for their large majority, don't know anything about music. Instead they rely on computer and now AI to do it for them. Sound design is now more important than making harmonic progression and as these process are standarized, everything looks more or less the same ending with a declining creativity.
