So I've been doing some research trying to figure out what's trending for weddings this year. We know softer neutrals have been going strong for a while now, but I think we’re starting to see a major shift to using lots of colour in wedding decor. I love it. And based off of this shift in trend, I'm seeing a lot more sculptural flower arrangement using colour.
When it comes to wedding florals, they are obviously highly desirable, but it comes at a cost and quite a big one, for something that is so temporary. They're so beautiful and effortless…there's no question on the appeal, but when I was thinking about this trend, I just thought there has to be a middle ground here. And that's when I thought that dried flowers feels like a great approach.
Not only does it give you the colourful vibe that’s trending, but it also gives you the option to prepare all your florals ahead of time because they last! Plus, you have the option to keep them afterwards, whether it's physical memories of your wedding day or to repurpose the flowers completely. It's definitely worth shopping around for the best prices.

For the floating arrangement, you could also roll some florist green sponge inside the wire, like a sponge burrito 😅 so that you can stick the stems in the sponge.
Also I think it would give some helpful weight to the composition! ❤
I think that would look really nice since the chicken wire was kinda obvious when up close on the arrangement!
Was thinking the exact same thing. You can also spray paint the wire green to match stems and blend in a bit more.

Oh my gosh! I love all the ideas. And using dried flowers is not only a brilliant idea it's cost saving. I was super blown away by the hanging flower arrangement, she is next level. No one would believe that you personally colored those flowers and hand arranged is them. It legit looks like an expensive flower shop arrangement.

I got engaged earlier this year and this is EXACTLY what I'm going for my wedding this year! I've had to describe it as colorful pastel garden party lol. I have been pinning soo many pressed flower table numbers and cannot wait to DIY them. Also, Rachel's creativity to spray the flowers for the last project with diluted paint is genius!! The effect is so whimsical and stunning

Currently doing florals for my wildflower themed wedding so this was great !
So for coloring Baby's Breath - just spray paint it! They're pretty dry anyways, so they're not going to soak up color very easily, which is kinda perfect for spray paint. This is what we used to do when adding dry-er flowers to wreaths and arrangements.
You know, I was a little hesitant when Rachel joined in doing videos cause I am not a fan of change, but man, she is AHHHH-MAZING! I want to be her best friend and do crafts with her. She is fantastic! LOVE LOVE LOVE these DIYs.

With the first diy of you wanted to use fresh flowers you could always drill the holes to the size of a straw cut some plastic straws to fit the holes and seal the bottom ends with a lighter and pop them in the holes then pipette in a little water and pop in fresh flowers but personally I think the dried look beautiful and you could literally just hang that wood onto a wall and keep them forever maybe below a canvas photo of your wedding day 🥰 so much inspiration

For a hanging flower arrangement,, you can also use different-sized/shaped floral foam with the fishing wire tied through it!

There is actually flower spray paint. It can even be used on fresh flowers. Definitely an easy option

Happy to see this… we’ll be celebrating our 10 year anniversary and hoping to have a small ceremony and dinner with closest family and friends. And all these ideas were what I’ve been saving on my Pinterest board. The “putting the stems in water to suck up the colourant” technique only really works on fresh flowers.

Oh gosh these are so beautiful and I like that with the dried and pressed flowers they survive a lot longer and especially in a thrifted frame. When my daughter got married her wedding invitations and also some candle decor had the pressed flowers and I had so much fun helping her do all of the decorations. I can appreciate that not everyone has a budget for a florist and fresh flowers for their wedding, I'm a wedding florist and had a very low key wedding but as someone who's been doing this for 13 years, doing anything this trendy is a surefire way to put a dated look on your wedding. Think 80's Diana, 90's headbands, 2012 Pinterest Mason Jars, flower crowns for a good chunk of the last decade. There are plenty of ways to do dried, DIY and color without blowing a budget while making things feel timeless and romantic-these all feel like a party to me and Rachel did do a great job. Home Decor-easy to change it up regularly, your wedding photos, not so much.
