- The Supreme Court has ordered the release of NewsClick founder Prabir Purkayastha, declaring that his arrest by the Delhi Police under the anti-terror law was illegal. A bench of Justices BR Gavai and Sandeep Mehta today said the remand copy was not provided in the case, which makes his arrest void.

If this person was falsely jailed, then the person who asked that he be jailed should be jailed. He should be jailed for the same number of days that the innocent person served. In this way people will be careful when passing sentence.

Took about eight months, as the lower court did not know basic law. What about those judges? Allow them to work till retirement and a possible promotion???

The agencies like ED, NIA, etc are formed under the constitution and empowered to carry on their investigation against those found accused... The job of the judiciary is to uphold the Constitution... So nowadays we find many decisions given by the judiciary are challenging the tenets of collective wisdom of these institution and those who are behind the creation of such institutions... Questionably, who's right in between the Executive, Legislative and the Judiciary?
