I've been to lokoja the capital of kogi and observed that the city lack space to expand. I think this solution will work in kogi state only if the state government will visit ebonyi state to take some words of advice. This is great ebonyi. Weldone
the same old story. Single lane everywhere and in the future they will start demolishing people houses to dualize the roads. Why not dualize it now during planning/construction.
When I first visited Lokoja, I saw a town that has the potential to become one of the most beautiful cities in Nigeria: think about the beautiful mountain views, the confluence of rivers of Niger and Benue, beautiful rocks and landscapes. However, Kogi governors appear somewhat visionless. With proper planning and investment, Lokoja could surpass Abakaliki in the spirit of fair competition, but it seems very unlikely due to poor leadership and ethnic rivalry between indigent residents. Kogi indigenes hardly invest in the state, as they show preference to Abuja.
Ebonyi state is one state that truly surprised me infrastructure wise. It's a clear example of what happens with good leaders head a state considered to be very poor. I have to give it to Gov. Umahi and his team.
This looks like a nice place to live. My best friend in elementary school was named Eboni. It's a black, female name in the United States however I think most African American females with this name have never heard of this state in Nigeria. When we think of the word ebony we just think of it as a color or shade to symbolize black. I'm still not sure where this word derives from. Great video!😊
@@arinzeobinna8387 Of course they have relation; the similarity in both spellings lets us know this. I looked up their etymology and both are English words meaning black wood or by some Europeans to mean black skin. The English got the root word from the Greeks and the Greeks... with its earliest origins/usage in Egypt.
I’m very impressed seeing this coming from the youngest state.. the governor has done very well.. can u show us other parts of the state . I’m looking at investing outside port harcourt and owerri.. it looks so promising
Such a masterpiece. You've done a very nice job with the coverage. Umahi is really taking Ebonyi state to the next level. The only thing remaining for Ebonyi to thrive is Human capital development and I hope the next governor focuses seriously on that
Nigeria leader are too old or think backward this is why Nigeria need young leaders... 🆗why construct 1950s houses and open gutters in 21century ,, If Nigeria don't want to look far they should learn from South Africa how 21 century building should look alike and how roads are constructed with quality
The Governor did well, however what he did is what every other governor is supposed to have done. It should be a normal thing. However since we have been so long ruled by failures and wicked politicians, once in a while if we find something like this it looks like miracle
i like the planning but what i still can't understand is why we in S.E are fond of creating single lane road instead of dual lane. The centenary city is massive but why are all the road not dual? that i don't undstd, now in the future when population has grown, they will then start demolishing people houses to dualize the road. Same old story in Abia, Enugu, Anambra, Imo, Ebonyi. A single lane that cars can't 360 on. So sad
The two major entrance were dual lane one two lane each side while the other is three each side more two is on construction as of today watch the video very well two appeared instead of three in that particular ares because he doesn't covered the whole centenary city
This looks way better than Lagos. If some skyscrapers can be built then FDI can pour into Ebonyi. It will become an economic powerhouse with decent infrastructure compared to other cities.
So FDI follows Skyscrapers? Not so my friend. Proper infrastructure such as good road, constant light, security, sewage, refuse treatment and tax incentives is what is needed to drive FDI and not Skyscrapers. The concept of Skyscrapers is really not needed in Nigeria to be honest, because we have massive unused land

Asaba can compete favourably with other state capitals, though there are some lapses. I don't know much about Edo, but seems like Benin's urban master plan isn't that great
In the state, everyone pronounced it Ke and not Ki, including the Governor, and your state newscasters. Except you are saying they are all wrong and only you are right, then I will accept it.
Good performance Gov Umahi. But all these paintings of his building projects in green and multiple colours reduces their beauty and is archaic. It reduces the aesthetics of Abakiliki as a modern city. Someone should whisper this to Umahi please. Look at Dubai and other big cities of the world. No one goes about painting bridges and buildings in green and orange colours
You are the only one who doesn't like green colour I have been in Dubai for 10 good years the city spent a whole lot of money to make Dubai looks green because it's a desert

The name Ebonyi has nothing to do with ebony, Ebonyi takes its name from the anglicization of the the name of a river that flows through the state
