This guy is an amazing leader and class act. His athletes are a clear reflection of him and his coaches.
Class act! The best coach in the NCAA! ❤
If you want to run a poll, I would add Laurie Henes to that list. She has long been looked down on as somebody who can conjure up a conference power, in a so-so conference, but this three-peat is historic. Since going to 6k in 2000 you've got Stanford in 2005, '06 and '07. The Boss Lady has some kind of secret sauce brewing down there in Raleigh. By the way, I believe Smith is Elly Henes's pro coach.
This man is so epic. It's inspiring each time i hear him speak.
One of the best coaches to do it. 🙏
What a guy
71 points, 12 less than 2022. any other year they would have won going away. OkState was just a juggernaut.
*Kenya State
@patg4603 the other teams have to take care of business.
This guy is pure class. From a Wolfpack fan. Respect.
Ditto.
Great to hear his positivity!
that is class
Mike is pure class
so articulate
What a Humble man. Thank you Coach Smith for being an example these young men and aspiring coaches.
Coaches Mike Smith of NAU & Dave Smith of Ok State:
1st or 2nd Place, or both first and second place thirteen of the last fifteen years.
They’re like the Alabama & Ohio State of football.
Champions:
NAU: 6 times
Ok State: 4 times
Runner-up
NAU: 3 times
Ok State: 2 times
Honor of the battle…..
I posted a negative comment on another story about NAU not giving OSU credit last year after only winning via the tie breaker. I wish I had heard his comments before I posted...class act. Dave Smith was also a class act repeating how they had to beat the best program all time of any sport. Both great coaches.
A Class Act.
Great interview. I appreciated his comments about Kelsey's injury.
What a great way of looking at things. A real competitor
Great interview
Love this guy
🙏🏾💪🏾
A classy coach and a gentleman.
What a cool guy
I had no idea how much much fun cross country is to watch until the internet.
Where is his accent from?
It’s New Jersey mixed with Southern California bro mixed with laid back woods of Flagstaff.
Nico hitting the transfer portal next year. Too many seniors leaving
Beat by a bunch of recruited Africans.
Mike has failed Nico Young. Allowing him to prioritize homosexual sin over his training and not enabling him to grow as an individual due to wokeism.
Lmao
