- We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson's (Asher Angel) case, by shouting out one word--SHAZAM!--this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult super hero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart--inside a ripped, godlike body--Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he'll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong). Levi, Strong, Angel and co-star Jack Dylan Grazer came to chat about "Shazam!," the highly-anticipated DC film.

No. You're just seeing the actual billy shine through as Shazam. The less tortured and messed up version of the orphaned kid with no true family who has had to fend for himself all of his life cause h cant get emotionally attached to others cause of what his mom did.

God you don’t understand, shazam is the real billy batson when he’s excited and happy. i mean imagine being alone since you were a kid and desprate to find your biological mom, ofc you will not as bright as you’re actually are but his real character come out when he’s being shazam. Just like jack said in this interview billy was still lost but when he’s beinh shazam he’s way more comfortable and excited

Both of those young men have "star" names. Jack Dylan Grazer's sounds so mogul-esque. Like a 40's detective. Asher Angel is just that. Very....superhero alter ego. Perfect.

Around 17:50 I couldn't help but admire Zachary's attentiveness to the host's story. I always see him listening very carefully with a warm facial expression whenever he encounters fans. I admire him a lot.
He's incredibly talented - but also such a warm, passionate, positive person. So inspiring 🙌🏽
This is what it feels like to have a true superhero nerd play a superhero. Zach is radiating positive energy and enthusiasm. He makes me fall in love with this character even though I haven't even seen the movie. And I just love this interview!!!!

Mark Strong is such a lovely and considerate guy towards everyone in the room and Zachary is just a sunshine when it comes to interviews, he really knows how to light up the room. I love the whole cast in this film! can't wait to see the film in a couple of weeks!

Mark Strong's Lord Blackwood in Sherlock Holmes (2009) was awesome. I feel that performance should be talked about more as well. Seeing him going up against Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law was quite impressive. He was very mysterious, methodical, conniving and a master manipulator.

It's great to see Mark Strong back in the DC for second outing this time finally as a full fledged villain while in Green Lantern they only showed the setup of him harnessing the yellow lantern energy which was a disappointment. I wish he had become a villain for Sinestro. I will say that the casting of Asher Angel and Zachary Levi was perfect. Zachary and Asher could be one and the same because they are not imitating each other but just natural. Also Jack Dylan Grazer I think will be the MVP for this film. Mark Strong's Dr. Thaddeus Sivana is kind of the precursor to Black Adam. Zachary Levi is a kid a heart and you see similar type of performance from Chuck with Shazam with elements of BIG and of course the Goonies. What I am dying to see the Magic based storyline for this film with the Rock of Eternity, the origin of Thaddeus Sivana, more on the wizard Shazam played Djimon Hounsou. Djimon Hounsou is a busy actor from Aquaman to returning as Korath in Captain Marvel and now playing the Wizard Shazam in SHAZAM! (original was Captain Marvel during the 40's). It's nice to see an actor appearing in 2 Captain Marvel films in a way.

I love how the host referred to Fandral when Zach mentioned Thor. He was great as one of The Warriors Three.
I've seen Mark in many movies that I love and he played amazing characters, but my favourite character is Archy in RocknRolla, that movie was wonderful and the scene of Archy's famous slap is brilliant, my favorite thing he said in that movie was " If a slap don't work, you cut 'em or you pay 'em, but you keep your receipts, cos this ain't the Mafia."

Love the question about what other superhero would you like to fight. Takes me back to when I was a kid chatting about that kind of stuff. Love Zach and Mark Strong spoke truth when he said that he thought it would be hard to play himself. Zach is very talented, and he can play any role, but he's best as a heroic character in a central romantic role al la Robert Louis Stevenson's essay on the differences between a Romance and a Novel.
