This video was recorded right before i started feeling like shit. I know I said no video for a couple days but I pushed through to edit this cuz it’s important!
Edit: in get intent was there in the production, but that doesn’t mean it sounds good. I intend to hit the golf ball straight every time, but all that matters is the result. Lol
I’m sorry to say, but this video isn’t the same without watching the official lyric/ music video. It actually improves the song, maybe watch it on your own time if you’re reluctant to react again.
ruclips.net/video/IJvjj6Fiwvw/видео.html
Thank you so much, Ernest. I hope you feel better. If you need to take a few days off, so be it. Your mental health is more important. We will be here🌸✊🏾
Hope you feel better soon! Thanks for always delivering the best reactions!
Thanks for the reaction!! And plz react to riot by x (THE VIDEO) you’ll get goosebumps!
I am a 20 year military veteran and I can speak for myself. I fought for the right for him to kneel during the national anthem.
Thank you. And thank you for your service!
TheThirdErnest this cancel culture is driving me nuts. We have freedom of speech which means you have the right to say what you feel. I don’t have to agree with what you say but you have that right to say it. I think we as a society have lost sight of that. You don’t have to agree with what Eminem says but he has that right. I always have appreciated him for saying whatever the fuck he wants to. He is the definition of free speech. I guess that is why I have been a fan for 20 years.
This thread is beautiful.
The problem wasn't with him kneeling. It is with him doing it at his Job that he gets paid millions of dollars to do when they said not to do it. When you are at work you do as you are told or you find a new job period. Just like any other job.
Justin Watson you are correct. Life is about choices. If you make choice that is in violation of your contact with your organization you have to live with that consequence. He has the freedom to do that. I can’t speak for all veterans but I know that is what I fought for. Just as i fought for the right for his company to take action on his violation of their contract.
I don't understand the hate for this song - the production is fantastic IMO. And the second half is GENIUS, also absolutely FIRE. The first half is from a white perspective, with a more rock sounding beat, then the second half the beat changes and with a black perspective. HOW can you not like this song, I don't get it. But hey, that's me.
Same! I like it too
Everyone can be entitled to their opinion! That’s what makes music great!
@@TheThirdErnest as long as they don't push their opinions as facts i'm okay with that
@@TheThirdErnest, but it wasn't the production that prevented it from getting attention. This was the song Joe Budden reported as "the worst song I've ever heard in my entire life". After Joe, Akademiks, Tyler the Creator, Earl Sweatshirt, etc. trashed Revival so badly, most of their audience didn't bother to even LISTEN to it, which is why this is the first time most people are hearing it.
@@aquarianrn148 but the reason Tyler creator called this album out was the reason it had a bad production. Thus, bad production was reason... Otherwise the album is amazing.
I've watched a whole bunch of reactions to this song, and nobody seems to pick up the production is genius. The first half of the song, whilst talking from the perspective of a white person and cops, the beat is very rock and roll like, and then once the song changes to speak from the perspective of a black person, the beat changes to a hip hop beat. Very very clever, few people do meta things like this in their songs.
The word Ninja has also been used to disguise the N-word. Thats why he said "now it's disguised banter. Ninja is also a member of Die Antwoord.
That ending is what really got me. Praising a piece a cloth...ppsshhh man! Yea, this was the hardest song to get through at first but once I started to really listen & heard that part, I felt like I could ignore the beat.
MAN THAT LAND OF THE FREE THAT SLAVES BUILT THO
@@TheThirdErnest 🔥🔥🔥
You didn't like the 2nd beat? 🥺 That beat slaps I'm sorry!
Eminem on fire past, present, future.
Talented rappers go on and off the beat, but always "resolve" on the last count which is important for enjoyment. The 1st half of Untouchable is the only time Eminem, in his entire career, Never does. Even beyond the rock stuff, Em wanted that 1st part to be uncomfortable and he's FORCING us to feel negatively. I guess he didn't want ppl "vibing" to police brutality. I think it was a bad artistic choice tho, because making something ppl want to hear on repeat would've spread the message better. His pen has never been better, the writing it Brilliant
I agree with everything you just said. I appreciate the comment!
I agree that this song ... is it even a song? It's more like a musically underlaid statement, right? - anyway, this song is not something one likes to listen to.
But as we're learning - nobody likes to be shown the underlying racism in the US, either. I feel very mixed about this thing. It's grating and nothing I would want to play in my car, so yeah... bad choice. But as a statement, and as... hm, maybe as an art-installation, it certainly does what it's supposed to do. If you're white, it makes you face an uncomfortable truth. Also - why would you WANT to listen to the words he's saying while driving, belting out bars and lines if there'd been a more pleasant hook? Wouldn't it suppress the purpose of what's being said? How many people sat in their car and bobbed their head to songs without listening to the words and the meaning? Hell - how many people STILL to this day think that Sting/the Police wrote "Every breath you take" as a love song!
I think the tragic thing with this piece of artistry is that someone with some clout in the genre heard it, maybe didn't listen to it well enough (or maybe just found it really too grating and willfully ignored the words) and spoke THAT before saying "the message is relevant, even though the music is hard to swallow".
Then again... George Floyd's death was later and (especially white) people weren't poised to listen yet. I don't know... Can't make up my mind if this was a bad choice of beat/production or if it was a good one. If you want to get the message across, you need people open to listen. Here, with the grating 'music', that doesn't automatically happen, and apparently the name "Eminem" wasn't enough to overcome that.
Still wouldn't call this "trash"! If I look at it like a piece of art that takes me a while to understand in its complexity, it's amazing. Would I hang it in my room, though? I think not.
You should react to Eminem chloraseptic remix he has so many bars on that track
the original one has even more bars
@@jeannedarc6121 true. I enjoy both the tracks.
The original has more bars
In my opinion the original is better
That was EASILY the best verse in 2018 until The Ringer came along on Aug. 31st of that year but if The Ringer didn't come into existence that easily was the best verse of 2018. HANDS DOWN 👌🏼🔥
"Treat you like Rodney Dangerfield" Rodney Dangerfield was a Stand-Up Comedian, and his catch-phrase was, "I get NO respect!"
Ayo. Shout out for sharing.
24:01 he also said "be capped in america" like Steve Rogers, and Steve Rogers is the name of Captain America
Its a homophone. Capped In America = Captain America. The man is a fuckin genius when it comes to homophones. And before he says that line you are talkin about he says "You don't gotta read comics or be that into characters" 👌🏼🔥
Agreed, Revival lyrically was fire, but some of the beat selections were kinda weird, like it's not something you'd see Eminem do or use in his music. But then again, he's done a lot of things on different kinds of beats, so I can't blame the guy~ Some of the beats were pretty good at least for me. River with Ed Sheeran, Like Home with Alicia Keys, Bad Husband with X Ambassadors, Nowhere Fast with Kehlani, and Need Me with Pink were some of my favourite tracks on the album. And I think Eminem chose real good features for this album, even if the the beat selections for the other tracks were kinda whack and yes some of the lyrics being said were pretty choppy, which is kinda unpleasing to the ear. Nevertheless, you can't deny Revival has some heavy lyric content that a lot of people can relate to, and at the end of the day, I think that's what he's trying to do.
In my opinion I think he was not only giving you 2 different perspectives but followed it with the sound. Rock=white and transition into a bass hard beat hip hop=black
Totally understandable. I honestly liked the second half of the song.
Really... Revival has some parts of each song I genuinely enjoyed.
Also.. that Black Opps bar is too fucking fire
I like the first half too but I get his criticism. It's meant to be messy and abrasive imo.
@@system0fadowner251 I guess that's why the beats in MTBMB are 2000x tolerable
@@Sunkhrist cant argue there, but lyrically I still think Revival tops it.
Definitely messy and abrasive. It’s supposed to be but still.
Nah, people need to stop making excuses for the bad production and other elements that were not sonically pleasing. I agree with you about Revival. Eminem isn't just a top tier lyricist, he's a great producer. He should have known better.
Ems verse on Chloraseptic remix is him at his angriest, it is like prison
Bars on bars 😂
Oooo, and it was Em stating that Kamakaze is coming
Nah it wasn't even his angriest self
yeah listen to kim 😂
Alot of "tubers" are doing a "reaction" to this song lately. They are pathetic, they miss the bars they miss the meanings, they are just on the band wagon and doing it for the views. But you my guy, break it down like a fkn boss. You explain it all so perfectly, go into detail and you tie it all in together. Giving an honest and real reaction with some thoughts and feeling behind it. Its an absolute disgrace how many people have jumped on this song with no idea about what is actually being said or even what they are talking about themselves, but are just using eminems name to get the fame on the internet.
its not the type of song where you nod your head to beats...but to listen to the words
When it comes to revival and I have been saying that alot it wasn't about the beat or the flow em had something in his chest he wanted to get it out that's even after all these years people still don't get it
I can understand that but even so, he’s still an artist and is up for criticism..no matter how from the heart the lyrics are
@@TheThirdErnest I understand what you saying I myself got thrown off by the production and the beat selection but the album grown on me after a while I think he focused more on the message he wanted to get across more so than the production but I get what you saying
Man I hope. You do a reaction to family bvsiness skip this ad that joint is crazy
@@TheThirdErnest I understand what you saying I myself got thrown off by the production and the beat selection but the album grown on me after a while I think he focused more on the message he wanted to get across more so than the production but I get what you saying

There's so many underrated songs I want Ernest to dissect ... specially from *_Relapse_* album :(
idk why but id kill to see him react to notes on a conditional form by the 1975. i feel like he would be like “wtf is this trash” or “i love this trash💕💞💞💓💗💘💕💖”
C’mon now Ernest, you had to have realized why the beat production was chosen right? The first two verses he’s speaking from an annoying, loud, garish, rock, white, and blue white perspective. The beat matches what he feels about that point of view and generates that same feeling in you. I don’t like it. It’s annoying. Something is seriously wrong.
Then the last verse the beat completely changes to actually sound like hiphop. Like, black, because he’s speaking from the black perspective. And that choppy flow you don’t like? Almost like he’s stuttering and doesn’t know how to speak well? Do white people think black people speak English well? So yeah, I get why you don’t like it.
I wasn’t super fond of the choices at first. But, Eminem? Kind of a genius. The beat is commentary in and of itself. The beat is a bar.
Also, balderdash? C’mon son. You never played that board game in your super tight strict family nights growing up? I guess it is more of a white party game. Oh snap, more racial commentary from Eminem.
The beat can have meaning too. Doesn’t mean it was made pleasing to the ear. I agree it’s trash but I get the idea behind it. The rest of the song is powerful though.
Yeah I can probably recognize that Eminem chose beats on Revival for a reason, even if they are not the best. Even in the beginning, the way he's rapping it, it's like he's speaking in an annoying fashion towards the black community. He's almost mocking them and talking in a cocky way, and then when we gets to the middle of the song, he gets more aggressive and defensive in his rapping.
Spot on. Appreciate you people.
Eminem is a genius because of the conception of this song~
I came here to say the beat is a bar in itself but you beat me to it 😂
Thank you Ernest!! Keep up the grind when you feel better!
You break down bars better than all other RUclipsrs, keep up the good job! \,,/
Yo my fav reaction so far keep up the great work homie!!
Do insane next, its super relevant rn🙏
Oh yes of course 😂
First comment and here to say that I love your reactions, knowledge when it comes to music, and ability to break songs down better than anyone else on youtube! (ps. a reaction to Holding On To You official vid by twenty one pilots would be SICK!
Keep up the grind brow, road to a milli !!
Please listen to Akala, hes a UK rapper, poet, author and playwright with a history degree, hes even given a guest lecture at Oxford university which you can watch online. Any of his fire in the booth freestyles are good but part 4 is amazing and most relevant to whats going on atm, i think you'll be blown away by him
I also know what it's like to be a minority being white. I came up in the hood in Rochester NY and was one of like 25/30 American white kids in both middle and high school. Played ball in HS. Was called the great white hope.. lol
Third Fam!! Let’s gooooo!! 💥💥💥
3 minutes ago?! Earlierst I've ever been to any video 😳🙌🏼
Ernest, heard you are sick. I am praying so hard for you. I hope you recover quick. I look forward to your next video.
I know I've seen some other people requesting that you react to :
DOA - I Prevail (feat. Joyner Lucas)
..but I thought I'd take a turn. 😅
Love you reactions, and your insight, man! Keep up the amazing work! ❤
Untouchable was also a single, however, the beat selection man😤😤😤
Idk if im reaching or if you missed it but the balderdash line was also a play on "chip on your shoulder" like a rock chip but balder sounding like boulder
very well could be! homophones are Ems thing so wouldn't doubt it
If revival sounded good it would probably be my favorit rap album of all time but its so hard to jam to it when it sounds like that
Exactly. People saying there’s purpose behind the production choices but intention doesn’t make it sound good lol
You literally deserve more recognition. Found you reacting to my man NF when he dropped The Search, have watched almost every video since though it sometimes isn't music I prefer, only to hear your breakdowns. Absolutely one of my favorite guys on RUclips. Hope you'll feel better soon, your videos is a blessing
"COMPARABLE"! Please keep using that word. It means A LOT when one understands it. 🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍✌🙏❤
Chorus was different but the song hit lyrics are crazy last verse hit hard with that beat
Yo I fuckin LOVE your reactions like fr I watched your Eminem reactions like 2 to 3 times like every single one of em, like you always say “FIRE”and been waiting on this one for a while now but please keep the Em ones coming, love 🙏🏻
Still watching you blow up! 🙌 it's been crazy how fast...but I knew you would 😉💜✌
“Balderdash is one of those creative words in English with no family and a shady past” www.alphadictionary.com/goodword/word/balderdash
The depth of his lyrical teachings knows no bounds
You gotta do Hopsin - Crown me, I dont see any of the reactors having it on their channel! its an insane song of his
dude i remember the times when i couldnt find you with the search bar at youtube now you get lots of views with 100k subs, your name is out there, keep up the good work
I appreciate that! Hard work slowly paying off!
The rock part is from an old Cheech and Chong song called "Earache my Eye.". Like from 1978.
ya everyone hated on the first half of the song because of that sample, but I loved it because I've seen Cheech & Chong "Up In Smoke". I think it's just the younger generation that didn't know the sample origin. But even if you didn't like the rock sound, the next 2 beats that come in are fire.
Haha! Balderdash was a board game where you tried to BS the other team! #bars
Again! Kamikaze is to Revival as The Love Below is to Speakerboxxx!🤔🤫👏👍✌🙏❤
Best bar breakdown me business
Bro you are the BEST anylasist on BARS.. LOVE YOUR break downs... #Facts
Forget the bar genius entendres, think about how he uses his syllables throughout verses to make everything rhyme. AA UU EE
Plz breakdown little engine from MTBMB...this is the third time i request you
I religiously watch rap reaction videos and you are hands down one of the best reactors. Keep it up homie
"everybody was mad so nobody was listening" describes every conflict we've had in the last 7 years
FIRST COMMENT BEFORE WATCING LOL WELCOME BACK TO EM
I’m glad u stuck with it cause the 2nd half of the song is a 10! Nice job
i think the die antwerd "beef" started here, he shouted them out in this song and then they bashed him on social media so he called them out on kamikaze
You did it once again thank you so much for this, also wishing you a speedy recovery from your mental health issue, please take care of yourself bro.
As always great breakdown Ernesto
Gotta check out King los - L.A. leakers freestyle. Don't sleep on the lyrical master Los. Song will blow your mind.
This man spitting at 7:00 🔥🔥🔥
em had the rock production because it was the point of view of a white boy, and even one of the lyrics even said "White boy, white boy, you're a rockstar" thats why he had that guitar in there
Capped in America bar can also be inferred as be *white* like "Cap in America" and you'll be good.
Whenever someone has to deal with a true stigma, others can't fully comprehend what they're going through. Empathy only goes so far. People need to stop pretending that the bad of the world doesn't exist.
I like how the check out bar also was relating to the McDonald’s line even after the hook
Idk if you did Joyner Lucas: I'm not racist.
If not also relevant rn
Idts, but Yes!!!
Yes!
As always a great breakdown Much love and respect.
Bars on top bars
Not to take away from the damage that slavery had on blacks, but most of the wealth that was built by slave owners was destroyed in the civil war. Like they literally burned down plantations and banks so that the slave owners had no more wealth, so to say that the only reason America is great is because it was built off the backs of slaves is just not true. Not to mention every other country in the world also had slaves, but weren’t nearly as successful as us. And America isn’t racist, sure we have a lot of bad history, but the fact that we recognized our mistakes and fixed them and was one of the First Nations to do so makes us great, because without our American ideals, none of that would have been possible.
I'm from Australia, boulderdash is not an uncommon word outsideUSA
I think (IMO) the "capped in America" line relates to police officers abusing their power as if they're a higher standard over normal police officers. Captain America beat the shit out of people but is the (arguable) leader of the Avengers, but also took the big meathead role in the first movie, or his initial development story... any thoughts?
U should watch the video on your own time🔥🔥🔥🐐
BRUUUUUUUUUH u need to get to The Real AKs new stuff!!!!! Antidote specifically! Love from Oregon 💕
Understand your opinion and agree largely about the albums but still an underrated album. Underrated channel. Subscribed.
Solid breakdown, appreciated. But think the hook is intentionally off, and the beat switch to the end is 🔥🔥🔥
Ninja is sometimes used as N-word. But it's "disguised banter". And Ninja is a member of Die Antwoord.
Nice bro, hope you feel better!
Recently people have been given Revival a second chance
That taser line is a reference to Walter Scott. Dude was shot in the back while running away and then the cop planted his taser next to his body. He didn’t realize he was being recorded.
That’s last bit you were talking about concerning the foundation of the country being built on slavery is why in high school I said:
“Land of the hypocrites and home of the slaves”
"We just want a safe environment for our kids", you went right by that ...... it's the most important line 💞
MGK. Said it.. He spends all day inside reading the dictionary..
I remember not liking this one at first neither BUT I was buzzing one day and almost skipped it half way through THEN the beat changed up and he was just going on and I was like "oh damn he does know what he's doing"
Same man lol.
The beat in the second half is actually ok: the bars in the second half are fire particularly the last verse
The hook kinda reminds me of Tom MacDonald's Whiteboy
It's the song that kinda made him famous because of the controversy
Honestly I still think the bad choice of beats on Revival is easier to listen to than the friggin' accents (and, at times, bad choice of beats) on Relapse, but only just. I do like about half of the songs on each of those albums though. Off Revival, I still think Castle / Arose is one of his storytelling masterpieces; as a parent that one just hits dumb hard.
I completely agree. I didn’t like the accent in relapse and I also agree castle and arose is heart wrenching
plz react to anything by aha gazelle. my fav is no stains but it is not as popular as other songs. really anything will be fire and have deep lyrics.
yes love this song. i have always appreciated the musicality and bars but did not realize how true it was until recently. sooo relevant!!!
Most nations that stuck to its ways eventually disappeared altogether. Taking the advice of 300 year old men isnt always best option.
Also "Then we wonder why we see this side of you (side of view)", relating to profiling aka systemic rascism from the police.
Through racial profiling and stereotyping, the police view black people in a certain way, from their side. Em then goes on to say "probably coming from the dope house" to solidify the point. That's a quad entendre homie
I think the production was intentional to mimic the stereotypical sound of music that a "white boy" would listen to... since that seems to be who he's speaking to. It's patronizing and matches his tone.
Hope you're feeling better!
Too bad no one told you to react to the actual lyric video. It adds more depth. Also, the beat choice on this song is clever in the sense it makes you listen to the lyrics as opposed to the off beat rock n roll which also signifies white music
And a lot of people don't understand that smh
He should redo this song and update it!
Untouchable was a single, too.
yep i hate the listen on this song....BUT..when the beat switch and he start spitting.......GOAT
My man, i love how you're checking out Em's old ones. In which case, you'll definitely will love Castle & Arose in that specific order. P.S. listen to both the songs till the last second cos Shaq didn't and that was annoying xD, love to Knox tho
Congratulations on 100k
the thing with DIE ANTWOORD is the artist is called NINJA, NINJA is hidden way of sayin N!**A, they are a south african group who make black music and africa is also still very racist btw.
I have been waiting for this reaction as I wanted to hear your thoughts on the song. I like the sound to be honest ! ☑️
@TheThirdErnest as good as you catch, and Break down bars. You should definitely react to Tech N9ne- Speedom ft. EMINEM, And Krizz Kaliko
With everything going on i really recommend skme songs from the UK that a lot of people havent seen.
Lowkey: Children of Diaspora
Lowkey: Ghosts of Grenfell
Dave: Question Time
Theres a lot more but i rllu want to see u react to these if you can.
Am I the only one that likes the hook because it’s from Cheech and Chong?😂
Hey Man
I fucking love your breakdowns
1 request if you can breakdown flows too while breaking down lyrics and rhyme schemes
"I know there's people that are pissed about the way
I mispronounced a name, "DIE ANTWOORD!"
Fuck, I still can't say this shit,"
This was on Greatest from Kamikaze, remember looking into the bar.
Ahhhh I knew it was one of the newer albums
@@TheThirdErnest Yeah, I remember on the song he purposefully pronounced it wrong, so I knew it was Kamikaze because of the troll diss style haha
