Regarding the weight indicator reference- is that for the riders dry weight or total wet weight with gear (wetsuit, life jacket, etc...) makes a big difference.

      Hey Bill,
Great question! When referring to weight indicators for foil boards, we usually mean the rider's dry weight without additional gear. However, it's worth noting that adding gear such as a wetsuit or life jacket will increase the total weight and affect the foil board's performance. So, it's important to take that into consideration when choosing a foil board and adjusting your riding technique.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
      See you out there,

How many notch back should you move the mast backward as a beginer? Example I weight 70kg and are on a scoop

If you are still in the early stages. I’d go all the way back. That will give you the best chance to get use to riding without the foil lifting you on foil too soon.

      Hi Hakan,
      Thanks for your question!
Jake's reply below really sums it up! You can drop back and try it and see what works best for you with some experimentation.
      See you out there,

      Hi Airidas,
      Thank you for your question,
Regarding mast positioning on your foil board, we have used 80kg in the middle of the tracks to get an 80 kg rider centre of gravity incrementally in front of the mast - the ideal mast location for easy and predictable lift.
The further forward you move the mast, the more weight would have to be placed over the front of the board to stay in control of the foil; that’s why we use weight as an indicator. However, mast positioning is not a strict science, and I would recommend starting with your foil in the centre of the tracks to start with and then experiment from there.
      I hope that helps,
      Frankie from North 🤙
