Been listening to The Souls since 1995 when Maniacal Laughter came out. I remember seeing them twice in Manhattan. They would always park their little BMX trailer on the street outside of the venue.
This song just oozes Jersey and I love it, from the doo-wop sounds to the guitar riff that sounds like Bruce. If Jersey ever picks an anthem this should be it.
I ordered the coin from this music video and it was in the mail today, when I got home. I've never been more excited about anything, since the birth of my daughter. I intend to carry it with me, everywhere I go.
I can see myself listening to this in the car going down some hometown streets, feels like a good summertime song. Definitely a break from the metal sound Rise puts out, and what a good break it is.
Why is it that the only good punk bands on Rise are usually the ones with the most dislikes? I just fucking love the 50's doo-wop vibe in this. The Souls did good.
Its amazing how these guys only get better with time. I can't name any bands that have aged like this. This song in particular is some of their best work. EXCELLENT and phenomenal song.
Ok seriously people... This band deserves more respect then all the other bands on Rise They have been around FOREVER! I love The Souls and am so happy that they put out a new album that is just as awesome as their other music.
So they have to be big to be good? Their song ¡Olé! is fairly well known. They've influenced bands like Dropkick Murphys, Goldfinger, Alkaline Trio, ext. So what's your point exactly?
Most of the people here don't know that this band has headlined Warped tour before, just becuase they're in a record lable thay offers mostly metalcore, post-hardcore, electrocore etc. This band is one of the hard working bands out there, thats the reason why they're on Rise.
David You must have never played Burnout 3... I played that game and heard Sing Along Forever and then this year I heard The Gold Song while playing Forza Horizon 3... I liked both of those songs so I decided to look em up... Seems to me that I have been sleeping on em hard.
Yeah they're on Rise but that doesnt mean you have to write some comment about them not being the same genre as other bands or blah blah blah. This song and video was great. Good job, Bouncing Souls.
Like I said above, people need to learn to broaden their horizons a little bit and also learn to respect other genres. We are on the same page. I feel you on this one.
I specifically want my band to sign to Rise because even though my band plays the majority sound of Rise bands. I grew up with Bouncing Souls and I think it's awesome that they sign bands that write great songs not just heavy music! Great job Rise!
Yes I did say that, key word is "probably". That's the most ignorant thing I've ever heard, my cousin's band "The Chainsaw Kittens" influenced The Smashing Pumpkins, and his band never got big. There's a difference, my argument is legitimate. The Bouncing Souls have arguably influenced a ton of bands in the Pop-Punk/Punk genre. So once again... I fail to see your point.
Fuck, man, I went to the secret show they did a week or two ago (it was their first night/reveal show with George on the drums) and they were just like "We'd like to thank you all for coming out tonight to watch us practice for the first time with George." They just don't give a fuck and it's amazing because they can. Can't get enough of these boys!
Dude, when it comes to respecting other genres....metal-heads have NONE. I would just ignore them. Not saying this is the best I've ever heard, but it certainly deserves a listen or two.
Dunno why this has so many dislikes, it's pretty good even if it's not what I normally listen to. I'm not going to dislike it just because it isn't what i'd normally listen to, which is what the majority of people seem to be doing.
@blasher that's not true at all. think before you speak. rise records could easily be just a metal record label but they enjoy & respect other genres. as well as the bands under the record label. so once again, think about what you're saying. metalheads do have respect.
Came here from Hands like houses, these two bands work off each other pretty well... and that's coming from a guy who loves screamed vocals in all forms, gotta keep an open mind
apparently you havent seen all the comments from people saying "its a nice change of pace from the normal rise music." so actually they do listen and have respect for other genres. I for one dont really care for this kind of music but I love electronic music dubstep and of course metal/hardcore.
wait....are the dislikes because of the whole Rise Records thing? okay, haha that makes so much more sense. This is such a beautiful/cute souls song. It rivals wish me well and big eyes for best 'cute' song.
It's called "Quick Check Girl." It's on their second album, "Manical Laughter," which a lot of people think is their best work. Awesome album. Take a look!!!
This is what Rise was originally built off of: Punk and 90's rock. Now its a metalcore and mostly post-hardcore label. but theyve still got some old punk bands signed.
That doesn't make sense. People who subscribe to Rise see that Rise uploads a new video. People assume it's some post-hardcore band (99% of the label). People click on the video, find it's not the genre they listen to, and hence all the hate starts. I just don't see why people are getting surprised about the fact that there are so many dislikes / haters in the comment section.
Bouncing Souls forever! I love them with all my heart, but am not usually much of a fan of the newer stuff. This is cute as pie though! True Believer! xxxx
Well yea, I'm sure people DO stop watching it, but only after they've hit the dislike button and raged in the comments. It might be stupid, but that's how it works. Especially when the label you subscribe to isn't even putting out the GENRE (let alone the music itself) you want to hear.
these guys have talent, i can't stand hateful fans of other genres ... like if you don't like it don't listen to it, also music is about that MUSIC not looks. people are way too shallow now days.
Some "metal heads" do disrespect other genres, but I listen to a lot of heavier styled music and I could jam to this, Rise doesn't have to support one genre and it's cool that they have a band like this signed. Every one just shut up and listen to the music.
2020 I just found this band, group. I love them.
Welcome to the family!
Never too late! Been a fan for about 18 years. It’s good stuff!
@@giraffepunx4484 Now that I think about it, me too... NFW!
Been a fan since 95. Welcome aboard.
No way?! Wow..welcome
Been listening to The Souls since 1995 when Maniacal Laughter came out. I remember seeing them twice in Manhattan. They would always park their little BMX trailer on the street outside of the venue.
This is a really great punk love song, and the retro vibe music video is cool too! Why so much hate on good music?? Bouncing Souls rock!
This song just oozes Jersey and I love it, from the doo-wop sounds to the guitar riff that sounds like Bruce. If Jersey ever picks an anthem this should be it.
this has remained my favorite since this album came out. i really liked comet.
These guys are my favorite punk band. I remeber way back when I first heard their Maniacal Laughter album.
Love the fact that the Bouncing Souls are with Rise now. Glad to see variety in the record label.
I saw them on Warped Tour in 97 or 98 in Northampton, MA. They had people quote their favorite 80's movies. Best performance of that festiva.
Why is it that the only good punk bands on Rise are usually the ones with the most dislikes? I just fucking love the 50's doo-wop vibe in this. The Souls did good.
Social distortion
I can relate! Such a hot song!
Its amazing how these guys only get better with time. I can't name any bands that have aged like this. This song in particular is some of their best work. EXCELLENT and phenomenal song.
Don't come to a video if you're just gonna bash it.. Everyone should just appreciate this as one of the last remaining musical acts with talent.
One of my favorite punk bands right up their with millencolin both great bands that always put out great tunes
I'm a big metal fan, but I still think this song is legit.
Ok seriously people... This band deserves more respect then all the other bands on Rise They have been around FOREVER! I love The Souls and am so happy that they put out a new album that is just as awesome as their other music.
I'm in awe at the fact that people think the Souls are new or who haven't heard them before. Wow, that's awesome, more exposure! Share the good music!
Never heard this until a few days ago. Awesome track! ✌🏼
It's an homage. They play that riff several times. It's shot in Asbury Park.
Got "the boss" sound too it. Love it!
This band has been around forever and is always good. Seriously, stop complaining.
So they have to be big to be good? Their song ¡Olé! is fairly well known. They've influenced bands like Dropkick Murphys, Goldfinger, Alkaline Trio, ext. So what's your point exactly?
Why so much dislike on this? Seriously? I'm just curious, what did i miss? You're lisstening to the goddamn Bouncing Souls
i dont think people realize this band has been around for a long time...
so chill. its nice to take a break from breakdowns every once in a while
This is what I started my day off with. I'm so glad Rise is giving good rock bands like these guys exposure.
I heard this song playing in a movie theater between showtimes
Most of the people here don't know that this band has headlined Warped tour before, just becuase they're in a record lable thay offers mostly metalcore, post-hardcore, electrocore etc. This band is one of the hard working bands out there, thats the reason why they're on Rise.
Im 16 and I remember these guys from the old tony hawk games. These guess were sick glad to see them back!
It's nice to see these guys are still making music and still as good as before.
The Bouncing Souls Kickass Thankyou Fat Mike of NOFX. Coin Toss Girl what a great song, and meaning,
I can't believe I've never heard of these guys. !
They've been around since like 1904.
+Atlas Restorations.... Ohmygod. I literally just laughed out loud.
David You must have never played Burnout 3... I played that game and heard Sing Along Forever and then this year I heard The Gold Song while playing Forza Horizon 3... I liked both of those songs so I decided to look em up... Seems to me that I have been sleeping on em hard.
This band is just what I needed.
Literally the coolest dudes. Ever.
Yeah they're on Rise but that doesnt mean you have to write some comment about them not being the same genre as other bands or blah blah blah. This song and video was great. Good job, Bouncing Souls.
Love this band!
Like I said above, people need to learn to broaden their horizons a little bit and also learn to respect other genres. We are on the same page. I feel you on this one.
I have no idea why people are hating this? Its not a bad song. Personally, the bouncing souls found a new fan.
I specifically want my band to sign to Rise because even though my band plays the majority sound of Rise bands. I grew up with Bouncing Souls and I think it's awesome that they sign bands that write great songs not just heavy music! Great job Rise!
THEY know its The Boss. YOU know its The Boss. It's all good.
they're so punk rock. the fact that this vibe fits them is awesome

Dude, when it comes to respecting other genres....metal-heads have NONE. I would just ignore them. Not saying this is the best I've ever heard, but it certainly deserves a listen or two.
these guys are what would happen if a band came out of New Jersey or sumptin
The bouncing souls? Those Jersey Mooches?!?!?! Hahaha Shout out to Asbury. Rebuild and recover.
saw the souls at the stone pony they were awesome cant wait till next year
Dunno why this has so many dislikes, it's pretty good even if it's not what I normally listen to. I'm not going to dislike it just because it isn't what i'd normally listen to, which is what the majority of people seem to be doing.
probably old school punkers who dont like change, even though they still sound great to me
I miss seeing them tour every year…
love this band forever
2012!? where has the time gone?
Love this band
these guys were so good at reading fest.
I like this.. a lot... Thanks rise...
Where can i find that siiick Coin? i want it!!!!!!
Also need two of these.
@blasher that's not true at all. think before you speak. rise records could easily be just a metal record label but they enjoy & respect other genres. as well as the bands under the record label. so once again, think about what you're saying. metalheads do have respect.
why do you people complain about everything? "every band on rise is the same" "wtf is this it doesn't belong on rise" MAKE UP YOUR MIND!!!
It's cool that rise has this kind of music too, it's cool to listen to different stuff sometimes.. I really liked the song and the video :)
It's so awesome in so many ways that Rise is now diversifying so much :)
Came here from Hands like houses, these two bands work off each other pretty well... and that's coming from a guy who loves screamed vocals in all forms, gotta keep an open mind
The tinniness? Of Bryan's bass is so rad. And pretty unique for a punk band.
My first listen to this and I like it. Good summer song.
Sweet, this was filmed at Asbury Park, New Jersey where Bamboozle is :)
Pro Skater 3 and Project 8! That's where I found out about The Ramones!
apparently you havent seen all the comments from people saying "its a nice change of pace from the normal rise music." so actually they do listen and have respect for other genres. I for one dont really care for this kind of music but I love electronic music dubstep and of course metal/hardcore.
so amazing
How can someone hate on this? It's a good song. Post-Hardcore isn't the only music out there.
wait....are the dislikes because of the whole Rise Records thing? okay, haha that makes so much more sense. This is such a beautiful/cute souls song. It rivals wish me well and big eyes for best 'cute' song.

Me and my best friends tune, she is my best friend for years and now I feel we really love each other to be soul mates.
Ah nice! New bouncing souls music and it has a good vibe!
Dude, its an homage. They play it, like, nine hundred times. The video is set in Asbury Park.
Great song. (:
"I'm so glad she's mine yeah a million reasons why" great punk rock love song
The comments section is gold on this one.
People disliking just because it isn't typical Rise Records bands
Wow this band is amazing :)
That doesn't make sense. People who subscribe to Rise see that Rise uploads a new video. People assume it's some post-hardcore band (99% of the label). People click on the video, find it's not the genre they listen to, and hence all the hate starts.

Admit it or not. These guys are a pretty good punk band. And I don't mind punk music.
This is actually pretty cool. Better than half the bands Rise puts out nowadays.
It's the internet. People blows things out of proportion all the time.
these guys have talent, i can't stand hateful fans of other genres ... like if you don't like it don't listen to it, also music is about that MUSIC not looks. people are way too shallow now days.
still doing it after all these years, the souls do it as good as anybody in punk........hope they find a good replacement on drums......
Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen...am I the only one?
This is good song.
If there guys had the same song but were a couple years younger, had a scene haircut,& had a typical 3-6 word band name, people would like it
RIP Ocean Grove Pier 2:39
maravillosa rola,Bouncing Souls es y siempre será parte de my fucking life
I like it.
It reminds me a lot of Alkaline Trio. These dudes are sick!
I think I'd like to marry him!
Still not sure if it was on purpose or not lol. Love me some Souls though, one of the best bands ever!
We were "craping" our diapers... Lol.
Rise records doesn't have any HXC, they're not even close. They suck, the Souls and REAL hardcore rule!
Some "metal heads" do disrespect other genres, but I listen to a lot of heavier styled music and I could jam to this, Rise doesn't have to support one genre and it's cool that they have a band like this signed. Every one just shut up and listen to the music.
