  • Have you ever slept in an airport? I spent the night in the ZZZleepandgo sleeping pods in the terminal at Malpensa airport. Was it better than spending the night on the airport floor? Watch the video to find out

    These pods would be great in other airports. Especially the bigger Intl ones where people having much longer layovers

      I totally agree. That's the thing, they serve a purpose that many people need. Especially when you look at short overnight connections. I think the same company have similar set ups in BGY and Vienna

    Thanks so much for this, I found it hard to find much info and now I know, I won’t be using the pod. I’ll go to the trouble of passing security to take a hotel for the night. Sound proofing is my biggest priority as I’m such a light sleeper. They should take note of the transit hotels in Amsterdam.

    I used these pods in verona airport, not for a layover or even to catch an early morning flight but genuinely because it was the cheapest option for that night. The screens didn't work and I had to message the support number on Whatsapp any time I wanted the lights turned on/off or the windows opened. Probably one of the worst night sleeps I've ever had and I don't think the pods are designed for a full night but it was a rather interesting experience and as uncomfortable as it was, it's a place to sleep.

    Very useful info. I'm staying there for a few hours next week. Arriving from Dub after midnight and flying to LCJ at 6:00am. Was wondering if I should book it as it's quite expensive (€58) for around 4hrs but will give it a try. ''Own secure bed'' is better then terminal floor. Anyways I will find out soon.
    Thanks.

      Arrived in Bergamo Airport around 1:00am and when I got to arrivals hall I was shocked how many people was sleeping on terminal floor. I was glad that I booked that sleeping pod even for a few hours. Check in process was quick and easy. When I got to my pod I closed the window blind and set up alarm clock. I took a while because touch screen wasn't very responsive. It was warm a quiet inside but had my earplugs anyway. The only bad thing about the pod is that toilet is quite far away so had to walk in the middle of the night for about two minutes (maybe less) to get to toilet. When I returned to the pod couldn't get in. I entered my phone number but it didn't work... It turned out that I didn't select Irish country code from drop down list (I was sleepy and tired and Italian country code looks almost the same) so pod didn't recognize my phone number and said it's fully booked. I eventually noticed my mistake and got in no problems but it gave me a little bit of stress. Alarm went off at 4:30am got my stuff and checked out. My flight was at 6:00am, got through security in 10min or so and still have time for a coffee.
      To sum up it was worth staying there and sleep on normal bed and get some proper rest before another flight. I wouldn't feel safe sleeping on the floor with all other people and probably wouldn't get any sleep. If I ever have layover like this I will definitely book a sleeping pod again.
      Thanks.@@JTsJourneys

    Was thinking about booking one for Venice tomorrow but the fact that it doesn't come with a blanket, not so nice. I guess I can buy a cheap EUR 10 blanket and dispose of it afterwards but still.

    I don’t land in Milan until half 11 at night and I’m going to Rimini at 7am (by train). Anyone know if it’s worth staying in one of these and then getting the first train down to Milan?

    • @JTsJourneys
      @JTsJourneys  Год назад

      might be a cheaper option vs a hotel, although depending where your train is from it might be better to get into the city centre so you don't have to worry about travelling into the city in the morning

  • @bookmarkmonaco4255
    @bookmarkmonaco4255 2 года назад +2

    The downside is that it is only for night staying. I wanted to rest after a very early morning flight before taking the bus to the city center for an appointment in the afternoon which was impossible. At this point for me it had no use at all. I might try some other time.

    • @JTsJourneys

      @@JTsJourneys I saw this in the GRU airport in Brazil... If I am laid over there for 12 hours like I was this time I will probably consider using one of these, otherwise I have to sleep with one eye open so to speak. And after a 6 hour bus ride ... you can almost sleep through anything so loudness is not really the issue. Also the checkin-check out times really make no sense one what should be an ala-carte service. the VCP airport has really nice chairs you can kick back in the terminals... but its still not so secure to sleep like that even if only other passengers are nearby and you are in the "public" per se.
