    My all time favourite edc. I work in construction and live rural on a farm in Australia. I’ve been using the same 940 daily for 8+yrs and is a workhorse. As a edc for an all round/everyday it is beyond its class. I love my Spyderco PM2, great knife but it doesn’t perform as well in everyday tasks. PM2 is great for going on a picnic to use to cut fruit & food, carry for protection as a slicing type knife. I use my knife daily at work and on the farm for everything. From cutting straps, rope, insulation, even use it sometimes to pry things (yes I know 😂). The 940 just keeps taking it.

    The benchmade 940 is generally considered to be the best edc ever made due to its combination of lightweight and durability it manages to be extremely lightweight while not sacrificing strength the only trade off is u lose a bit of slicyness but it really Will do anything u need it to it’s a jack of all trades blade

    I agree with what you said I’ve carried a 940 For years. Like you said not the slightest but a good work tool that does what you require of it. Don’t care about pocket clips just take them off and it’s pocket food. Nice thing is with its aluminum construction it’s strong enough to ride in your pocket all day every day.. Who cares if you get a key mark or whatever it’s still works every bit as good as it did before. Green and purple is a great tribute to the Lemans winning jaguar.

    My two favorite knives are the OG Benchmade 940 and the Spyderco Kapara, which similar sizes and carry in the pocket well. The 940 is a great all around EDCer, while the Kapara is slicer, and more of a gentleman's carry. They both get carried more than any other knife I own.

    Sold mine a while back & it’s the only knife I regret selling. Ordered another one & it should be here tomorrow. I can’t! I gave up on Benchmade a long time ago but not the 940. Fav folder ever hands down!

    Finally got my Benchmade 940 Osborne, and now I know what all the hype is about. I absolutely love it. I am left handed, and this knife is totally leftie friendly.

    I switch between 940 and Delica 4 in k390. Depends on if it's the wet season here in the PNW. I have a discontinued BM emissary 470-1 I like for fun and something different once in awhile.

    Been carrying my 940-2 for 10 months straight i absolutely love it. Only change I've made was putting the purple flytanium scales on it. This knife doesn't care what you throw at it (realistically).

    I have a 940-2. Very nice knife! I love how slim it is in the pocket. I think I like my Spyderco Para 3 a little better overall but I carry the 940 more because it’s so slim.

      It's very hard to disassemble a Para with the lanyard hole and I think their screws are made of tin (half joking). 90% of the ppl I show both knives to agree the Benchmade eats the Para's lunch. I like the Maxamet versions, however.

    I laugh when I hear “a coin will get in there and damage the blade” because I shove my 940 in crevices and use it as a pry bar 😂 it’s meant to be treated like a farm knife

  • @jimmycricket7946
    @jimmycricket7946 Год назад +1

    The only problem with the 940 is it sucks at cutting. The blade shape just doesn't have enough thin belly to it. It kinda goes from being thin to immediately thick and as a result the thick spine of the blade continually gets in the way of the cutting path. Kinda hard to explain but I have the same problem when cutting with the kizer genie.

    • @RockyMountainEDC
      @RockyMountainEDC  Год назад

      I agree . And I think the Spyderco PM2 is wonderful alternative that has a much more slicey profile. Really much of spyderco line up. The benchmade griptilian Probably has better behind the edge thinness

    • @jimmycricket7946
      @jimmycricket7946 Год назад

      @@RockyMountainEDC it is I usually work with the saki city stretch 2 it's just about the same blade profile as the pm2 but I prefer the handles on the stretch plus it's k390 which is hard to find in a paramilitary. If the chaparral were larger that would be my sort off duty carry because I love the way that thing cuts, it's super thin but to small for my hands so I gave it to wifey to open up all her Amazon boxes.

      U must have a dull 940 then because the 940 is by no means a bad slicer mine cuts thru materials like butter

    • @jimmycricket7946
      @jimmycricket7946 Год назад

      @@rommelthedesertfox3089 it's not dull it cuts but poorly compared to some other blade shapes I own. The blade geometry on a 940 just isn't ideal as a slicer, if you want a example of an effective slicer consider a spyderco chaparral or a trm adam. I mean how many knives do you own?
