I got both and I keep the Ganzo in my work pants and the 940 is almost a fixture in my EDC. The 940 makes you feel a little more warm and fuzzy than the Ganzo. Imo. Thank you for sharing, guys! 👍
Yes there is definitely no doubt that the 940 has some sort of “it factor” that the ganzo does not. I think the question here is that when you figure in the pricing, doss the 940 really give you the warm and fuzzy for the $$$? I think the answer is simple when you consider how much you carry your knives. We tend to carry our benchmades constantly. So for us, I would say the 940 is worth it’s price. But value is subjective regardless of price. It may be way overpriced for someone else.
Hi. This is the vid i have been waiting for. Finally, a subjective review that dosn't start out with hate for the Ganzo. The similarities are obvious but they are not trying to sell it as a Benchmade. To me Ganzo took a great design and made it better! As far as i have seen nobody complains about Benchmade using the spidey hole on the Griptilian! I am obviously a Ganzo fan and i could never afford a Benchmade, but if i had the money...... eh let me think... i would buy 6 ganzos. Lol. (I don't like BM's politics but that is another subject). I have many True Utility produits and have always found them excellent. And that plastic case saved my little camera that i take fishing. Dropped it in the sea and it was dry inside after 2 minutes in the water. I use them as a fire kit, first aid kit, mini toiletries case (toothpaste, toothbrush, razor, soap and after shave). Emergency survival kit, (more room than an altoides tin) and finally the camera case. Sorry this is so long. Good health and stay safe. Excellent work guys.
Thats awsome!! Im prolly gonna put the case in my backpack because I have alot of stuff in there that would fit great, and your right alot of knives look very similar to other knives that nobody says crap about, they are blade shapes and handles, only so many can exist. As long as its not the exact same, and claiming they are, people shouldnt get so but hurt. Almost every single knife made was a copy of another of some sort in some sort of kinda way, ha lol try saying that ten times fast. But Ganzo has great quality that shouldnt be ignored, I do wish they would stop copying designs because they would be taken way more seriously.
@@NeevesKnives i think that with the original designs on the recent fh series Ganzos have put down most critics. But we still see reviews that start by " i don't know what this is a copy of, perhaps someone can tell me" . Ganzo make great knives period. And no one can beat their prices. I think a lot of it is politics. It is not "made in USA, so obviously it must be crap" that i see on many channels. I am not American so i judge uniquement on quality and not origin. (Nothing wrong with patriotism but it must be objective)) So glad to see you are the same. All the best.
Since we are from Chicago where it has so many different kinds of people I think it makes us more open I think. I mean I love my country but when im buying something I care about price and quality not geology. If it has those and from USA its a plus but, we are all human and when I buy something regardless what it is, I dont ask well what country did it come from, or whats there political views, I care about the product. Think about that like sometimes I want to ask some of these people, do you know who made your shoes, or hammer, toothbrush, coffee machine exc.. They are all tools like a knife.

They definitely have great knives that are well built, and are really good work knives and if your ever trying to learn how to freehand sharpen or mod they work great
Absolutely love the 940. It is far and away my most carried knife, but name another aluminum handle, s30v steel knife that costs $190. I think it is both a great knife and also a bit overpriced.
Yeah we actually just recently were gifted the 940-1 and its amazing but ya know if you carry it all the time and you use it with joy, is it really over priced, maybe so enjoy it more than 190$ worth of happiness
Whoa that's awesome. I hope you enjoy that bad boy. I really like the look of the carbon fiber scales. I was thinking about swapping out my green aluminum scales for flytanium after market cf scales.
If that Ganzo was made in America by Americans it would be a $200 knife, bottom line is American people want 25 bucks an hour the people in China make 25 bucks a week that’s why things are so expensive here. I just paid $260 for the 941 Osborne. I’m trying to find that Ganzo but it’s out of stock
That little minimalist is awesome, it's been on my radar for a while, as for the 940 - my grail is the anthem ❤(what the hell has that to do with the 940. Sorry guys, I'm losing it lol)
I've lost a lot of knives over a 45 year career in construction and steel fabrication, never could I afford to lose a $180.00 knife. so it would never get carried or used.
Great video guys ! The 940 is a classic , but what you pay for it is wat to much . I love the design . The ganzo is , of course a very different knife. But i have to say that it is a good knife. Compare the price and you know you are way better of with the Ganzo. Love that pen !
Thats so true! You get alot for the $ from ganzo, you do get the warranty from Benchmade though, wich is worth something, but prices on knives was higher when it first came out, now knife prices are different, but they are still selling 940s like hotcakes, its hard to deny ganzos quality and materials for its price.
I bought a Ganzo "940" solely on seeing it in your previous vids (along with 3 others not gonna lie) every one of them was damn awesome. I love the action, fit and finish, everything. Ganzo needs to pay royalties to Benchmade so that Benchmade can pay royalties to the inventor of the spey blade.

Didnt realize the size difference, the ganzo is huge! I think Ganzo putting their logo and just having similar shapes and looks is fine, no one thinks its a benchmade or whatever and gets ripped off, you know youre getting a ganzo, I like their auto options Ive given mine away as gifts. I did take the purple ano off, didnt like it with the green handles haha. You guys didnt have to do the shout out! But thank you! Fun to see it in a video, and a great video at that. I think the 940 is over priced imo. Id like it a lot more at like 135, and they go for that on the secondary. Also gotta think if the cheap titanium knife with m390 has m390 that actually performs, vs the tried and true benchmade s30v (at least I think there hasnt been many problems with benchmades heat treat on those)
Benchmade definitely has been in the buisness for a long time so they know what there doing and a lifetime warranty goes along way, the 940 is awsome and they know it, so they make you pay for it. As for alot of badass knives.
I only have 2 issues with the Benchmade 940. The price is about 50 dollars too high & I have heard of more than a few omega springs breaking. Love the knife though. The Ganzo's springs are strong, almost too strong, and I haven't had any of them break. Great comparison video. 👍
Yeah the ganzos omegas are really strong but they do break in, i think bm are thinner, i love the 940s they are great knives one of the best thumb stud actions but def alil pricey, for 2019 knives maybe not 7 years ago but knives have stepped there game up for sure, for really good prices.
No i havent but im gonna go and check it out and take a look, thanks i like keeping up with them, i wish the would get away from copying designs because then they would be taken way more seriously.
@@NeevesKnives I agree. They have the capability to make great knives. The FH Series looked like they were going to start making their own designs, then right after the 41 or 51, they release this 765, which looks alot like a 940. Not an exact clone, but I bet they had a picture, or a Benchmade 940 right in front of them when designing the 765.
@@WilliamMancel lol probably, if they woulda never copied, they would be way more bigger and knives that they do make now people wouldnt compare to other knives designs, but since they have a history, its easy to say it looks like another knife, i could do that even with alot of companies that never copied
First; I hope you get well fast , intill I saw ya in chat I was gunna write an email it had been a minute since i seen from ya'll and was stating to miss my sweet huneez.... neat pen, I used to use a container like that for my smokes at the lake,,, I am so happy I traded off my last bitchmade, status symbol knives for a buck 8t I get a handful of knives, maybe more depending what I order at the time(mood), and all are quality, tested and some have lifetime, Is the YoJ2 yours or loner?
You guys are great with replying to comments and talking to your subscribers and that pen looks awesome. I got a great little vid on my IG of my Benchmade 550-1 in action I'll send you guys that and some EDC pics. You guys are awesome keep it up👍
Hell yeah thats awsome!!! And thank you, we think this is gonna be great! It gets more stuff on the channel and conversations which is one of the reasons we do this.
I love that lil crkt minimalist i had one not too long ago and it turned into a houdini knife and disappeared on me!👎 Hopefully it'll turn into a boomerang because like i said I loved that lil thing especially as a backup knife i could just carry on my belt and quickly hand to ppl that need to use a knife
That little knife is great I didn’t realize how useful and discrete it would be I almost forgot it was on me some days, it gets really sharp and it’s such a thin blade that it passes through material effortlessly hopefully yours boomerangs it’s way back lol
Nice job on the video and you’re lucky to share this interest with your wife. You said you were interested in critiques. Minor thing but phosphor bronze is also self lubricating. Always better than Teflon. No idea why Ganzo would use one of each...
Right!!! The container to its super useful!! You can use it for so many things also a few people told me that it is water proof, and the pen is so compact, strong magnet, people spend bank on pens with a similar style.
Benchmade isn't anti 2nd amendment the local politicians that support a program that benefits benchmade are anti 2nd amendment. And the give military vets, law enforcement, and first responders a great discount. I know because I have bought a few.Just thought I would try to clarify that. I have 9 ganzos and love carrying and using them.
180 is insane. Absolutely insane. Considering that the only people who really care about “Proudly American” products are Americans 😂. So that basically takes the most appealing selling point out of the benchmade for most people outside the US? I got a Ganzo Rat1 and its damn amazing!!!! Besides for the budget steel they make a legit knife. No doubt. Great video. You guys are super cute together
I like being a proud American and i like American products, I hate when America bends me over though, 😆 i love the 940 but its awsome that we can get alot more for our money somewhere else.
Paddy, are his on the way? I know he offered. Including everyone, love it guys.. Lol, like that pen, just got a cheap brass one, gel. Cool pen and I'm not huge on pens, nice buy Kara. How is the blade on the 940 unfortunately I have never held one, they are rare as in Australia. Love that bloody blade shape man. I want a custom Minimalist. Lol, like them both and yep benchmade aren't losing anything. Thank you to ganzo, I agree they aren't the same but you do get a little feel of the 940, as to whether you are really going to like that blade shape, like you said it's a little thicker behind the edge.. 👍s up. I don't seem to get any notifications of your videos.??
What? No notifications? Try to redue the bell and let us know pleeeaassse??? We are really hoping that youtube isnt trying to hide us because of blades
I dont thing the warranty means a whole lot lol imo, i know custom knife makers that will replace a blade and most screws, washers etc on most any pocket knife for quite a fair price. What im saying is if you love a knife enough you can always find someone or do it yourself and get that thing to last your lifetime and then some.
Great video. I haven't tried the 940 not sure if the handle would be for me, but can tell it's a great knife. The Ganzo seems solid as well. Might shoot you guys a dm. Seems like it'd be fun to chat either way.
Its definitely worth way more than you pay esp by USA standards. We love the 940 but we have many ganzos, people lose there mind when they hear that 😆 they are badass!!!
Up until this day, Benchmade has sent me free pocket clips and barely this year started limiting it by 2 free clips per year per knife and $5 for more than that
😆 Zach said hes never had any break, which is crazy considering hes got more Benchmades than anyone. My first mini grip is getting serviced right now for both omega springs 😆 it only lasted like 3to 4 months when they broke. But someone whos got 50+ benchmades and prolly been through hundreds never broke one 😆 thanks for letting us do this and if theres anything we can send you to checkout just name it, unless you want us to just pick something.
@@NeevesKnives seems like its random! I wonder if part of it is them corroding and weakening or just not being uniform and having weak stress points where others come of the line uniform and strong.. The anthems spring is the way to go, hopefully more of that design is put into new models
@@brandont9071 thats what i say to thats definitely the way to go, that spring will last forever, and idk what makes them break mine definitely didnt rust and was only a few months old, i thought about getting some from amazon but idk how they are, there prolly great maybe I should
Very refreshing to see a US reviewer not beating on Chinese knives - so subbed. However, I do understand that many of you guys will be patriotic toward US companies and protective toward them. I'm from the UK, so as you can understand, the patriotic thing toward your companies is a bit of a moot point, so we tend to not be as harsh toward Chinese knives. Also, US made knives are way more money over here, and sometimes hard to get. For example, I'm wanting a Cold Steel Code 4 Tanto, which is on back order over here everywhere. I own a couple of Bucks and 4 Case knives, so I have supported you guys as funds / model availability allows. Anyway, maybe you should review a couple of RealSteel knives - in a league of their own and even make Ganzo look sub par.
Thanks Gary, we are from an area thats very versitile in that theres people from all over the world, and we love our country in every way, but we also are not ignorant in the fact that usa made knives usually cost more, and we want to find quality for a great price regardless of where its from, and thats what its all about, a good product. We know alot of people that will ignore problems or the fact that they are paying more than they should for something just because its made in the US, we love knives and the people that make them regardless where they are from. That doesnt mean I love my country or the people of this country any less, thanks for subbing to our channel Gary 👍
@@NeevesKnives Cheers buddy. Oddly enough, about half hour after my post I actually found the Cold Steel in stock with one company. Duly ordered and should have it in a day or two. @@garryt2533 i did get to check it out and l loved it, a great edc knife and the blade is super slicey yet very strong, I know you will enjoy it as its a great user knife

Nice vid, great comparison. Good team work 👍. Subbed.
Awesome thanks Kalvin
I gave my Lady the same Minimalist but now I need a new one!
Ha 😆! Yeah thats how it goes 😆
Just found you guys... I have a 940 coming to me for Christmas. I own many ganzo knives.. love them too
The 940 is awsome, i do love the knife i wish it was a little thinner behind the edge but its one of the best edc blades
First; I hope you get well fast , intill I saw ya in chat I was gunna write an email it had been a minute since i seen from ya'll and was stating to miss my sweet huneez....
neat pen, I used to use a container like that for my smokes at the lake,,,
I am so happy I traded off my last bitchmade, status symbol knives
for a buck 8t I get a handful of knives, maybe more depending what I order at the time(mood), and all are quality, tested and some have lifetime,
Is the YoJ2 yours or loner?
first hting whats the blade steel ? what bearins are used, that will give u the price difference
Fb washers, 440c vs s30
Ohhh sexy knife my friend. Love those bearings
@@pattol666 washers
Hmm 10 Ganzos or 1 940....
Right!!! 😆 i love the 940 like bigtime and ganzos quality and materials are far better than the $ spent
was the Ganzo modeled after the Benchmade 950 Rift ?
Possibly or maybe the contego
@@NeevesKnives I forgot about the 810 Contego ! what a beast of a folder ! regret selling mine
@@ashmerch2558 definitely a beast
I agree with MC you need to be over 1K subscribers this month.
Thanks man that means alot to us!!! We are for sure trying and after we hit the thousand we have a huge gaw
Great video and great comparison keep up the good work 👍
I looked on Amazon and couldn’t find the omega springs for the 940, by the way good video.
Look on etsy
Those are really good budget knives though like really good
I love that lil crkt minimalist i had one not too long ago and it turned into a houdini knife and disappeared on me!👎 Hopefully it'll turn into a boomerang because like i said I loved that lil thing especially as a backup knife i could just carry on my belt and quickly hand to ppl that need to use a knife
That little knife is great I didn’t realize how useful and discrete it would be I almost forgot it was on me some days, it gets really sharp and it’s such a thin blade that it passes through material effortlessly hopefully yours boomerangs it’s way back lol
Awesome comparison video!!!
Nice job on the video and you’re lucky to share this interest with your wife. You said you were interested in critiques. Minor thing but phosphor bronze is also self lubricating. Always better than Teflon. No idea why Ganzo would use one of each...
I really enjoy your work
they need to make an osborne xl.
And that lil pen telescope is dope
Right!!! The container to its super useful!! You can use it for so many things also a few people told me that it is water proof, and the pen is so compact, strong magnet, people spend bank on pens with a similar style.
17 Ganzos and counting, all very high quality, for the price of one benchmade, also will never buy benchmade because of their anti 2a stance
That is illogical. You will but a communist country's products, but not a USA made product.
I honestly hate people like you, yes that’s your OPINION but i ain’t saying its not a stupid version
Kudos for your 2A stance. Benchmade committed an unforgivable sin when they destroyed guns.
@@randyemenhiser2573bm destroy a gun??whats that about??
See you guys got one of mine 👌
Yesir thank you and we have a video that going up talking about you and others, it should be up in a week or less.
Hey brotha you two are doing a great job with the channel. Keep it up. All the best.
Thanks Bennny!! Your awsome!!!
Try out the S.O.G terminus.
We actually have one and its awesome, so great im surprised sog made it
180 is insane.
😆 😆 thats so true!!!
@@NeevesKnives all good
I think you guys are great! You cover a range of cool things! Down to earth an enjoy! Thanks for doing you!
For sure! Ive had to use benchmades warranty, but in all honesty i could have fixed the knife my self by ordering parts from amazon
I would rather have the ganzo it's just a better knife even at 20 bucks don't matter it's just a better knife
Ganzo can't compare to Benchmade, BUT benchmade is overpriced for what you get particularly material wise.
Exactly my opinion!
No they didn't try to copy the bench made.
Proceeds to describe how similar they are.
All while saying that they are not similar.
You 2 do a solid job
Thanks John
Great video. I haven't tried the 940 not sure if the handle would be for me, but can tell it's a great knife. The Ganzo seems solid as well. Might shoot you guys a dm. Seems like it'd be fun to chat either way.
Hell yeah for sure!! Shoot us a dm that would be awsome if your ig name is different just let us know its you, thanks Schafer
I would choose the Ganzo. Great video my friends!!❤❤
Its definitely worth way more than you pay esp by USA standards. We love the 940 but we have many ganzos, people lose there mind when they hear that 😆 they are badass!!!
Neeves Knives your also paying for Benchmade’s warranty which, depending on who you are, is worth the price
Nice review !!!
Thanks bud!!
Somebody is going to get angry about this sooner or later 🤣🤣🤣
Now it is possible to sum up: the Ganzo has won)
Up until this day, Benchmade has sent me free pocket clips and barely this year started limiting it by 2 free clips per year per knife and $5 for more than that
Oh its two I thought it was only one, thats cool and 5$ a clip aint to shabby
This 940s omega springs broke!! Just fyi haha
Cost comparison fyi - £92 GBP, which is currently $117.93. I hope it's worth it, as it's been a bit of a grail knife for a while.
@@garryt2533 i did get to check it out and l loved it, a great edc knife and the blade is super slicey yet very strong, I know you will enjoy it as its a great user knife
@@NeevesKnives Cheers. I'm very partial to the Americanised Tanto pattern.
@@garryt2533 yeah i like both tanto styles, i find depending on what i wanna use the knife for, or the type of cutting, then I like one over the other
so lifetime warranty = $20.00 blade replacement, versus Ganzo @ $20.00 where you get a entire replacement knife. Hmmmm, frankly I've never had a folder break on me.
I definitely have but i was also over using it and abusing it for sure
Great video and great ideas. I will get you a picture of my EDC. And I also got a new knife Friday which is a Olamic prototype that metal complex had on his channel. He hasn’t put out the review on it yet but he has had it on a few of his videos and I will send you a video of The action on it. It is a beautiful knife it’s the first knife in his multi Grail unboxing video
Awsome bud thank you!! That would be so cool, metal complex is such a great dude and we love his channel. Olamic knives are incredible! Havent messed with any but its Karas favorite and grail, so shes sitting here smiling at me 😆
It’s definitely an amazing knife I just sent you an email of it and of my EDC hopefully you can use them. I’m definitely not a cameraman so the video might be a little shitty LOL

Lol why do we say Japanese tanto it should be native American tanto 😆
I ordered a ganzo for two reasons one for the price and the other for political reasons
😆 i love your personality already.
That is illogical. You will but a communist country's products, but not a USA made product.
It's a speyblade with a sharp point😬
Yes it is! I say that all the time and people argue with me, if it was a reverse tanto the back side would be sharp like a regular tanto is 👍
I love ganzo, but I still think they ripped off the 940
They definitely used the design but it's far from a clone
Yo I want Kara to go up against some of these poser knife guys........ I want to see her have a flip off and I pick the person!!!!!!! I have all my money on Kara!!!!!!!! Lol hahahahahaha great vid guys!!!!!!!!
Im a Ganzo fan..so Im biased and really liked your review..so far, 13 Ganzos in my collection...and only 3 Benchmades....
Yeah i think we have 4 BM a around 13 ganzos also 😆 both are great the new ganzos are really awesome to with their own designs
Are we gonna talk about the knife or what.... This isnt nutnfancy here if that's what your trying to copy lol

We just gotit in the description. Its jrneeve@gmail sorry bout that we was trying to put it in befor it went up
Idc anything about Benchmade, but that sexy chick with her shirt falling off her shoulder is awesome! 😍

Yes she is
I just subscribed to your channel, yes your wife is absolutely beautiful you are correct as so is mine. Which makes us very blessed man as long as there beautiful on the inside as well, be blessed brother
We are Both very blessed and im thankful everyday, its a blessing to habe a good woman by your side
ganzo is better unfortunately
Americans made the mistake of moving production to China
😂 probably
If you want dollar for dollar value and true quality on a budget blade skip the Ganzo and get a KA-BAR Dozier. Benchmade should sue Ganzo into the dirt for stealing the axis lock design and several of their knife designs. Anyway, my seething hatred for Ganzo aside, good video you two! 940 all day out of these two but Bugout over the 940!
Woodland Tactical Dozier FTW all day man!!! Love that little knife.
@@jacopieterse4325 have you seen my abuse test on it?
Nope, but i do abuse tests of my own on the daily hahaha
Perhaps Spyderco should sue Benchmade for using their "Hole" ?...and oh....if you hate Ganzo so much, why click on a video with Ganzo clearly in the title?...its clear your feeling about Ganzo..I watch some of your past videos...and to be honest, I was subbed to your channel at one time...but I differ from your outlook on knives as Im sure many many others do also....so I unsubbed....keep your product hate and bias up and keep losing followers...its up to you, I care not.
U clearly don't know about the axis lock patent expiration. An d spyderco did try to Sue benchmade over the spyderco hole. It got thrown out..got 8 ganzos, 6 benchmade and over 150 others. All brands. Love em all!..good job, keep it up!
