Which country is the most successful military power in European history? France. According to the historian Niall Ferguson, of the 125 major European wars fought since 1495, the French have participated in 50 - more than Austria (47) and England (43). Out of 168 battles fought since 800 years they have won 109, lost 49 and drawn 10. www.telegraph.co.uk/men/the-filter/qi/8080884/Quite-Interesting-the-QI-cabinet-of-curiosity.html
I'm French merci.
And the last few they lost drew us into war to rescue them but alas it’s the least we can do for helping us secure our revolutionary war. Viva le France and long live the memory of the Marquis de Lafayette.
Most people myself included like to pick on the French for how badly they lost world war two, but I will say, I do admire them. You don't make a large empire by being nice. As for they're loss in WWII that was less of the French army and more the governments fault. Instead of putting younger generals in charge they stuck with old men who wanted to fight the first world war over again. Men stuck in the trench warfare of 1914. The soldiers where underfed and led by officers who could not care less. The soldiers did the best they could under the circumstances. Yes, the French lost wars after world war two but look at it this way, in WWI they took the blunt of the war dead in world war I, fell apart from poor leadership in WWII and was suddenly expected to hold onto Algeria and Vietnam with a depleted army and population. I respect them for that tenacity.
France, a people of lions, but ruled by donkeys... The land of Vercingetorix, Clovis, Phlippe Auguste, Saint-Louis, the Valois dynasty, Louis the Fourteenth, Napoléon Bonaparte, Charles de Gaulle, Jacques Chrirac... and then Nicolas Sarkozy, François Hollande and Emmanuel Macron. "The higher you climb, the higher you fall." Grand pays, mais triste époque...
Superbe !!!
Thank you! For posting an excellent video. It has been many years since I lived in Paris, but I will always consider France my second home nation. The music was bad ass and the Foreign Legion looked scary as hell. Everyone else has a gun...these fuckers are carrying AXES! Question. Why did you call it the Hell March?
deltavee2 it is called "Hell March" because the song comes from the game "Command and Conquer red alert 2", and this is the name of the song in the game.

Cybot it’s also the most natural if you consider the fact that the salute most likely came from the fact that knights had to lift the front portion of their helmet to show their faces as respect.

VIVE LA FRANCE yeahhh
I know cavalry is outdated and all that, but those horsemen looked epic. Great parade
That's the "Garde Républicaine" or Republican guard (Obvious ?).
cavalry is now mostly used for millitary police
France first was competition and know is a true ally of us brits
Only if our empires had United as one
Thank you! For posting an excellent video. It has been many years since I lived in Paris, but I will always consider France my second home nation.
The music was bad ass and the Foreign Legion looked scary as hell. Everyone else has a gun...these fuckers are carrying AXES!
Question. Why did you call it the Hell March?
deltavee2 about the music. Used for many others countries. Look at the chinese one, worth the look
Have called it "Hell march" because they have the impression that the soldiers who march back from Hell after fighting
deltavee2 it is called "Hell March" because the song comes from the game "Command and Conquer red alert 2", and this is the name of the song in the game.
axes are for smashing down the ennemy anti-infantry obstacles and the protective apron is to prevent the wood splinters
I liked the way almost everyone marched in a similar style until the Legion. The Legion has a style of their own.
Just looking at this, you'd think France could conquer the world again.
Very cool vid from an American.
ahhh an american who think that the french army is not the "white flag army", finally!!
Mat06 GAMING yep

Greetings from India..
Awesome!
Viva France!
Dammit, I just wish that the Cuirassier are still useful in modern warfare...
I'd join the military immediately.
MariusThePaladin Lasalle (one of napoleon best cavalry general) said that "a good dragoon is a dead dragoon around 30years old". (dragoon = cavalry)
What does he means by that ?
This is the Republican Guard, military policemen who protect the president and the Elysée but they are always badass

French Salute looks so strange.^^
Cybot it’s also the most natural if you consider the fact that the salute most likely came from the fact that knights had to lift the front portion of their helmet to show their faces as respect.
