Kateri Tekakwitha is the first Native American to be declared a Saint. She is the patroness of the environment/ecology, Indigenous Peoples, and care for creation.
After being bullied by her family and tribe, Kateri left to live life with other indigenous peoples who believed in God and Jesus like herself.
