Thank you for sharing your method! I've been wanting to make booties to pass out to the unhoused with dogs I'm my area as I'm in Arizona and the pavement can reach 170°+ in the summer and their poor little pads get burnt. You broke it down clearly and simply, thank you so much!
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for this video. You are such a breath of fresh air. Right down to business with no fancy pattern to buy, no fancy tools to buy and I already have everything I need except the tuff tech material (I think that’s what it is, I’ll have to watch the video again) You are so down to earth and explain things so I can understand. I have three sizes of dogs. A 90 pound German Shepherd, an 8 pound Yorkie and a 5 pound Toy Poodle. We definitely need these for winter. Thank you again for sharing how you make these!💕
I've been trying to figure out how to make booties for my dog! So happy to find your video! Excellent instructions and thanks so much for posting.
Im so glad you did. Have fun with the sewing of the boots. Its worth it
I love how you left room for the dogs nails as well! Thank you for sharing this video! With this hot climate, I’ve been so concerned about my puppies feet, and the shoes I purchased are too big so I’m trying to make my own for her
My dog absolutely loves these boots. I'll have to make him some summer ones now. Thank you so much.
Your video is so helpful! Your very talented! I will do my best to follow your tutorial your tips are really helpful! I bought $30 shoes that lasted two days, I'm otr trucker and my Lola (silver lab) feet are suffering from constant dirty pavement. Her shoes gave out that fast. This video will save me a lot of money once I get the hang of it. I wouldn't even thought to start with a simple rectangle to make comfy boots! Thanks a million from Lola and I both💞
You are so welcome
Thank you so much for your videos! I’m in Minneapolis MN and desperately need to make my pocket bully some booties. His poor paws are swelling from the pavement and heat. I can’t take him outside until I get these done so your videos are helping tremendously! Thank you ❤️
Thank you for this! We are in the triple digits and my dog has already burnt his paws on hot stones. We appreciate this!
You are so welcome
Excellent video! I'll now go to your fitting video. Thanks.
I don't have tiny fur baby. They're the size of my pyrenees' chew toys. Love seeing you posting vids again
You are awesome ❤ Thanks for showing us what to do.
YOU are awesome, thank you for watching and commenting
Very cute...Thanks!
love this!!!! how do you properly measure. I have 3 dogs and all different sizes. thank you so much.
You might try using a wooden spoon to push into the corners so your fingers don’t get sore.
Hi There, I've been making your boot for several years. I've been using suede on the bottom and am considering using the Toughtek. What's your opinion on that product for the extreme cold that we get here in MN? Does it crack? Does it seem to be comfortable for the dogs? I am also going to be making some hot weather boots. Great videos, instructions, and an excellent product.
Spend the extra $ on quality tough teck or it will crack. Yes it is comfortable and people say the dogs have great traction
Love the video Thank you however I've search for the non skid fabric and not able to find different colors other then orange and black and the link you share for the wrap velcro these not work can you please share a good link for that I appreciate it thanks
I would just google one wrap velcro and tough tech if you’re having issues with the links. So sorry
How cool I guess I'll need to make ceaser some. Blessings
Thank you so much for sharing this how to video.
This is fabulous. Do you think it would help if you used pinking shears when trimming off the excess fabric before turning inside out.
It’s fleece so it doesn’t fray. So no need
@@PetPrepper true, just thought it may help reduce the bulk
How far from the top edge of the fleece do start sewing the wrap around Velcro?
Depends on the size of the boot. Less than an inch no matter the size though
Thank you!!!
@@deenawillis1597 I also have other videos on how to make the boots. I’m deep in the middle of chores now so if you have trouble finding them let me know. I can get links later for you
Thank you so much that’s very kind of you. I have find all your doggy boots video’s. I like the last one the best!!!! I’m going to my sewing room and I’m starting the first boot!
😊❤
Hey there! Love your videos and can't wait to make your boots! I have a Dogue de Bordeaux who is 90 lbs and a Great Dane who is 170 lbs. Can you tell me what size to use? It would appear both would n need the 5X7 but the Great Dane's paws are much larger than the Dogue de Bordeaux so I wanted to verify before I get to work! :) Thanks.
Thank you so much! That’s a really hard question to answer without having the dog here to do a fitting. My best advice is to measure the Dane from toe to stopper pad while standing to get the length. Then around the highest and widest point of foot to measure the width. The good thing is if they are too big you can always sew them smaller and smaller till they fit like a sock nice and snug
Or try one of your socks on the dogs and use that as a makeshift pattern
Do you think these would hold up long term if i made a pair for a service dog? She'd be using them a lot.
I lived in MN and people would walk their dogs on the chemicals used in the winter daily. They would last a year or 2
@@PetPrepper that's perfect! thank you so much for replying :)
Whats best for snow/salt, 1000 Denier CORDURA or Toughtek?
I don't know how to answer that, sorry. I don't know what 1000 Denier is.
Can you use felt or no because it doesn't stretch
my problem is all the dog boots ive bought slip off so im serching on youtube
K well thats my number one complaint till they try these boots
Trop de blabla Dommage
Thank you SO much for sharing your “recipe” for dog-bootie-happiness!! I’m just waiting on my order of ToughTek. Can’t wait to start! 🙌🏻👏🏻🫶🏻
