Honestly, when you start to think about it, the whole thing about supporting/or not supporting different companies is kind of silly. Like, I can understand if morally you don’t want to support these businesses but that should be your own private decision that you don’t enforce onto others. I follow many actual residents of the Middle East who vehemently support Palestine. They themselves still buy Starbucks because unlike the vast majority of corporations, they have not contributed any funding to Israel and anything regarding that is just alleged. I feel most of the outrage is from people outside the Middle East. The weird thing is, the Middle East has tons of coffee places, so they have literally no need for Starbucks and yet you still have folk that choose to go there while still being pro-Palestine. The only controversy is them having to lay off workers in the Middle East as a result of lost sales. Which is a chicken and egg situation. No boycott means no layoff necessary.
The D’Angelo segment is supported from a few somewhat recent non drama stories months ago. Remember when the VTuber Scarle went to Japan and she wanted to try out every Starbucks cake pop that was sold there, she got backlash because she wanted to have a fun stream and eat cake. Same thing happened with another VTuber who used a png image of hands holding the McDonalds hash browns, just the png images and she still got backlash and had to state an apology. The same criticisms that called out how ridiculous that kind of drama was highlighted that Twitter/X also falls under the same umbrella of things to not use in protest, I think that’s Google which covers both twitter and RUclips.

I work at Panda Express, and we use the same oil for honey sesame chicken, honey walnut shrimp, Beijing beef, and eggplant tofu. I have no idea what the rules are on that lol.
7:28 dirty oil smells like fish regardless of what’s cooked in it. You can always tell when the grease needs to be changed in a deep fryer when the food is really dark and it will smell like fish! Whether it’s cross contamination or just dirty grease, it’s a PROBLEM.

As a trails fan, let me break down this reveal. Sky 1st is a remake of the first Trails game, Trails in the Sky FC released in 2004. Trails is a massive 12 game jrpg series with some of the best world building in any series (game 1 to game 12 takes like 5 years in game, so it’s a lot of reoccurring characters, basically MCU of jrpg). When a 12 game series goes on for 20 years, the earlier games definitely age, and sky FC definitely has, and has been a topic for many when people recommend getting into the series. Many have been telling people to start with Game 6 and then to go back to game 1, but now with the remake it needs no excuse to start at game 6, we can tell everyone to start with game 1! (Also it’s a goated game and 20 years old and the first true remake in the trails series, so it’s very hype)

Gotta agree with Keith Lee partly. A lot of the restaurants in Maryland are just mediocre and usually have a high price along with them. I've never tried food trucks unless I'm getting tacos or pupusas, which HIT THE SPOT 99% of the time, so I can't say much about them. Then again, I'm not a food counessiuer, and my favorite food is the $10 chicken broccoli with white rice at the nearby chinese food place, so don't trust me on that fully. It's just that I've been to SO many places where the food looks like the pictures that Keith Lee showed. Or like H&Chicken, it's good for sure, but it's a bit pricey, and I get skin and bones as chicken sometimes. The waffles are GREAT though P.S. I also don't travel much at all since I'm a broke 18 year old so most of the stuff I eat are just local resturants in walking or short driving distance

Bad reviews are as important if not more so than good reviews, presuming that there's a legitimate reason. Food safety and hygiene are important. If its a choice between a food place being shut down or a person being potentially poisoned or worse, I would go with the former. Of course people potentially losing their livelihood sucks but people compromising their health also sucks. This is a lose-lose situation.
An anonymous review, or google/yelp review would be better than putting them on blast to a large audience, though. Or sending the business itself an email explaining your concerns about food safety in their establishment, and warning them that there's health code violations going on that could put them out of business quickly. Reporting them to authorities for health code violations is also still much better than publicly blasting them. We can't forget how vicious people on the internet can be, and how such a large audience can also include people who will go after people instead of businesses.

As someone who lives in Md, works in Va and goes to dc frequently I find that the best restaurants are usually in the smaller surrounding areas. Out of all of the dmv. I prefer going to Alexandria for food. Old towne and the del ray area never disappoints
Omni, you should hop on Trails. It’s one of the best jrpg series (or even just one of the best series in general) in gaming. All the games in the series are connected and tell one big overarching story set in the same universe and split into multiple arcs. It’s truly a one of a kind journey. It’s famous for its worldbuilding which is like no other in gaming. Some fans compare it to One Piece in that respect and it honestly fits. I highly recommend it

I follow many actual residents of the Middle East who vehemently support Palestine. They themselves still buy Starbucks because unlike the vast majority of corporations, they have not contributed any funding to Israel and anything regarding that is just alleged. I feel most of the outrage is from people outside the Middle East. The weird thing is, the Middle East has tons of coffee places, so they have literally no need for Starbucks and yet you still have folk that choose to go there while still being pro-Palestine. The only controversy is them having to lay off workers in the Middle East as a result of lost sales. Which is a chicken and egg situation. No boycott means no layoff necessary.

Remember when the VTuber Scarle went to Japan and she wanted to try out every Starbucks cake pop that was sold there, she got backlash because she wanted to have a fun stream and eat cake. Same thing happened with another VTuber who used a png image of hands holding the McDonalds hash browns, just the png images and she still got backlash and had to state an apology. The same criticisms that called out how ridiculous that kind of drama was highlighted that Twitter/X also falls under the same umbrella of things to not use in protest, I think that’s Google which covers both twitter and RUclips.

Totally sympathize with Keith Lee., my hometown is near St. Louis (which is a pretty average-ish food scene in my opinion), but I've been in the DC area for a couple years for grad school. And I really did not know how good I had it in St. Louis, the DC food scene is truly horrendous.

I work at Panda Express, and we use the same oil for honey sesame chicken, honey walnut shrimp, Beijing beef, and eggplant tofu. I have no idea what the rules are on that lol.

7:28 dirty oil smells like fish regardless of what’s cooked in it. You can always tell when the grease needs to be changed in a deep fryer when the food is really dark and it will smell like fish! Whether it’s cross contamination or just dirty grease, it’s a PROBLEM.

As a trails fan, let me break down this reveal. Sky 1st is a remake of the first Trails game, Trails in the Sky FC released in 2004. Trails is a massive 12 game jrpg series with some of the best world building in any series (game 1 to game 12 takes like 5 years in game, so it’s a lot of reoccurring characters, basically MCU of jrpg). When a 12 game series goes on for 20 years, the earlier games definitely age, and sky FC definitely has, and has been a topic for many when people recommend getting into the series. Many have been telling people to start with Game 6 and then to go back to game 1, but now with the remake it needs no excuse to start at game 6, we can tell everyone to start with game 1! (Also it’s a goated game and 20 years old and the first true remake in the trails series, so it’s very hype)

Gotta agree with Keith Lee partly. A lot of the restaurants in Maryland are just mediocre and usually have a high price along with them.
I've never tried food trucks unless I'm getting tacos or pupusas, which HIT THE SPOT 99% of the time, so I can't say much about them.
Then again, I'm not a food counessiuer, and my favorite food is the $10 chicken broccoli with white rice at the nearby chinese food place, so don't trust me on that fully.
It's just that I've been to SO many places where the food looks like the pictures that Keith Lee showed.
Or like H&Chicken, it's good for sure, but it's a bit pricey, and I get skin and bones as chicken sometimes. The waffles are GREAT though
P.S. I also don't travel much at all since I'm a broke 18 year old so most of the stuff I eat are just local resturants in walking or short driving distance

Bad reviews are as important if not more so than good reviews, presuming that there's a legitimate reason. Food safety and hygiene are important. If its a choice between a food place being shut down or a person being potentially poisoned or worse, I would go with the former. Of course people potentially losing their livelihood sucks but people compromising their health also sucks. This is a lose-lose situation.
An anonymous review, or google/yelp review would be better than putting them on blast to a large audience, though.
Or sending the business itself an email explaining your concerns about food safety in their establishment, and warning them that there's health code violations going on that could put them out of business quickly.
Reporting them to authorities for health code violations is also still much better than publicly blasting them.
We can't forget how vicious people on the internet can be, and how such a large audience can also include people who will go after people instead of businesses.

I absolutely thought you meant the department of motor vehicles, so thanks for clarifiying lol. Keith Lee did the same thing when he came to the bay area here in CA. I have a feeling that he tried the same types of food he usually tries, with very little branching out. Pretty sure he only went to Oakland and SF, when there are so many other places in the bay with authentic asian, mexican, and soul food. He didn't post anything from his trip here, also due to the homelessness I think.
The only spot I know Keith Lee went to around here is the Apple Store where I work…to get his phone fixed lol. He’s right. Food isn’t great there. They don’t even sell apples.

As someone who lives in Md, works in Va and goes to dc frequently I find that the best restaurants are usually in the smaller surrounding areas. Out of all of the dmv. I prefer going to Alexandria for food. Old towne and the del ray area never disappoints
Omni, you should hop on Trails. It’s one of the best jrpg series (or even just one of the best series in general) in gaming.
All the games in the series are connected and tell one big overarching story set in the same universe and split into multiple arcs. It’s truly a one of a kind journey. It’s famous for its worldbuilding which is like no other in gaming. Some fans compare it to One Piece in that respect and it honestly fits. I highly recommend it
Keith Lee being unwilling to give candid feedback to piss-poor places is likely signaling end of his relevancy to food reviewing. Part of the job is to not only critique the products and services but also call out egregious practices from offending establishments. As an individual putting himself into a position to critique others, he needs to understand that he's not solely responsible for the fallout that poorly performing establishments receive. In any event, I wish him the best with being a critic whose become afraid of giving negative critiques.
I believe other states have regional areas made up of multiple states too. Closest one to me is Texarkana, which is Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana.
