For context the game is played, as we know, from the perspective of a toddler, and the story is one of a mother who falls into depression and the "monster" you are running from throughout the game is your mother, who fell into drinking and it's likely that it's some sort of child abuse when she catches you, and the father is just trying to help you. The playhouse is kind of like the kids safe place from the mother.
That is sad
I've played this game many times and in the ending the bottles represents her alcoholism and her use of dr@gs which was lead by the divorce of the parents all of that leads to the child abuse and the dad sends the toddler a therapy bear to help with the child possible trauma

A few things in case you play the prologue;
-You'll trip if you sprint too much
-Crawling is faster than walking, and slightly slower than sprinting
-There's a museum that explains a bunch of stuff about the story of the game
-Take your time, you might end up missing a ton of stuff

This game legit breaks my heart. so many poor children actually go through this. my moms dad was and is like that he's an alcoholic who pretty much neglected his 2 daughters while her mom mainly hug out with them and cared for them

The "constant slipping/falling" is your stamina meter emptying. If you don't want to fall as much, give the kid some time to rest before running again.

Also this game is just absolutely beautiful. The way the screen shakes when you feel distressed, the warped versions of childhood joys. The empty bottles everywhere. I remember crying at the end when the kid found his way out of that dark house into the pleasant light of his father's smile.

Fusion please stop constantly getting up and running, the baby has an invisible stamina bar and when he falls he needs a break and o crawl for a minute. It’s so disorienting for the screen to be constantly bobbing up and down

Your commentary makes it so fun, it almost as if we're discovering this game together! Though I already knew it before watching this. There's actually a prequel if you wanna play that, it's a DLC. It also seems like we both ended up predicting a plot twist before it happens while early on, you with this game, and me with a book school wanted me to read. 💡
The way that the baby falls and does a sound like “eh!” I just got this image of when they fall, they got this crying face, and another reason why this makes me cry is because it’s a toddler going through this! Idc if it’s a game it just makes me question life.
