Thank you sir for sharing your toys and your life with us. My boys and I have been following you for many years. We are not in the US, but we enjoy what you do and you and them remind me of times with my dad and some of my farmer uncles. Thank you again. (Hi from South Africa.)
Nice car! Duff really enjoyed the horn! Have to agree about a dual straight pipe flat head exhaust, that’s a special sound. As always, thanks for the ride!
YES!!!!! I've been waiting for a segment on this car ever since I spotted it lurking in the background, years ago. For me it's sentimental- 12 year old me in 1972 spent $65 of my hard earned lawn mowing money for my first car- a '39 Standard sedan. Thank you for this segment! Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to search for one on Marketplace....
Bernie aside, this is probably the nicest vehicle you have in my opinion. Let’s see that white(ish) 55 back on the channel too! Keep seeing it in the background!
Duff's "WTF was THAT?!?" reaction to the 6v horn on 12v was great. Gotta dig the little trivia stuff too like '38 deluxe front clips became '40 standard front clips and '39 was the last year for wipers on top. PS - who needs a radio when your flattie sounds like that?
Nice to see an original one of these, that not got 90s streetrodded. Also the natural wear/decay of 86 yrs of being in occasional use is what i call a honorable patina thats worthy to be maintained
Good morning from Cape Cod ⛵ That 39 sounds pretty cool, and looks just as nice 👍 it's always interesting to hear your automotive History lessons, there's always something that I wasn't aware of. You're a font of information Mortske. Keep up the great work and the awesome content ✌️🇺🇲
Wow! That is a really sweet ride!!! I definitely needed a cruse with some friends, thank you. That flat head does sound so good with that straight pipe. I couldn’t help but to start laughing when the compressor kicked on, I knew you wanted to cuss at it, lol. Make it a good weekend, I can’t wait to see what Mondays video will be!
Get some dishrags and soak them in evaporust. Like real damp so the chemical sits on top of the rust. Fold them up and lay them over small areas of the dash and window frames at a time, let them sit for several hours in each place. Make sure to keep em wet through. After a few hours, maybe even up to 8 hours in each spot the rust will dissolve and you can carefully clean each spot. The rust will be gone. Work your way around th door frames and across the dash one spot at a time. Then just coat those areas with your choice of oil or surface protector chemical. Easy project that will take a coupe days of just checking to make sure the rags are wet wvery now and then. Beautiful car buddy. Shes perfection!
Split window! Eat your heart out, Corvette! 😝 Nice car! 😎👍 My parents went to high school back in the 60s, and i remember their telling stories of how their classmates were driving these cars, calling them "old" even back then. Hard to imagine...even in 1964 this car was 25 years old! (How neat is that?) Thanks for sharing, Mort!
Very cool car Mort, I love the sound of a flat head 8. Thanks for showing the car. I love that it’s original, glad your keeping it that way. Have a great weekend.
I'm almost drooling! What. A phenomenal rig!. Sorry you lowered it! Hope your n able to restock it if need. Be. What a find! Hope your able to keep her! Many thanks for sharing your treasure !
My mother who was 20 in California 1940 said the bad boys in there old cars to drop the rear end down to get the lead sled look they were stealing Grave stones from Cemetery’s fill the trunk full and the PoPo figured out what the them bad boys were doing
I forgot you had that sweet ride Sir thanks for reminding me ! Glad you are enjoying it ! Take care Duff and Sir ! Hope you are having a happy new year !
You asked for recommendations on what to do with the rusty dash. What about taking fine steel wool and very lightly giving it a once-over then use rust reformer to seal it. Then clearcoat it or leave it.
Good video and a nice segway to a new year. Mojo could speak to it better than us, but I think if folks that bought Fords in those days didn't have a lot of extra money. If they had a little money, they could buy a Mercury or if they a lot of money they bought a Lincoln. So, Ford didn't offer a lot of options. Also, the interiors were relatively small, and the radios were tube technology, meaning the radio was nearly size of the car. LOL. The fitment in the dash must have been a challenge. And yes, those radios still work. I like the originality you are keeping (comes with age I guess). Scott at cold war motors left his model T fender with the weld in it because that's how they got fixed out on the farm. And, if there ever was a guy with a brilliant skill set to fix it, it's him. Thanks for the review of the 39 Ford. It was great.
What a sweet car! 20 years older than me!!! Amazing so little rust for a ND car. Sounds great, too. Good enough for the girls you go with I suspect! Thanks for all the historical info too.
Fantastic Video , even better car , Thank you so much for the time you put into everything it makes my day complete . All the best to you and Duff from the big snow country , Stuart in Canada .. ..
I had an old 59 Ford that both the gas and temp gages quite working. Found out it was a resistor/relay of some sort. The mechanic replaced it and everything worked fine 🙂..it had been over to 12v as well.
Is there anything better than cruising an old soul original with a fine Brttany Spaniel by your side on a golden winter afternoon? I dare say not, Sir. Some things are best because they just are what they are.
A lot of those cars stayed on the road a lot longer than others, because of WW2, as they were almost new then. Even with fuel rationing and tire shortages there were not any new cars until 1946 (If you could find one) and then there were supply problems until 1949. An original one is even harder to find. Piece of history Mr. Mortske...
Very cool 😎 So glad it is being left original. My ‘39 std is the Coupe version but slightly hot Rodded many years ago. 350 with Saginaw 4 speed and Granada rear axle. Stock front end. Cheers JT:Orlando FLA
Roomy interior. The trip footage looked like there were about 6 rows of bench seats between you and Duff and that rear window. From that view it looks like a VW pretzel back there. Awesome car to just drive around. Fun stuff.
That car is perfect for a restoration,,,,
Not a chance!
That car is perfect… the end! Sweet ride Mortske
Why spend all that money on a car he cant enjoy with duff

Finally, someone posting new videos! Been a long week, having withdrawals!
You can never get rid of that beautiful vehicle! Duff matches it so well and looks amazing riding in it!😂❤
It's a real head-turner!
That car doesn’t need a radio. You don’t drive that car for music. You drive it to get away from new things. 👍
What a great car keeping it original is like a history lesson and what makes it even better is Mortske is the teacher always entertaining
Nice car! Duff really enjoyed the horn! Have to agree about a dual straight pipe flat head exhaust, that’s a special sound. As always, thanks for the ride!
Nothing beats the sound of a flathead with straight pipes!
Brings back memories. Our family car growing up was a '41 Ford.
Nice

Couldn't agree more
Thanks brother, I needed a cruise with friends in a beauty like that. What a nice ride
You bet!
Thanks for the video Mr. Mortske and Duff.

What an awesome car. Yeah she has some age issues, but she’s saved. Thank you Mr Mortske. I hope she’s gonna see some car shows this summer. 🙂

It does!
On the interior metal trim. I would go with a wet brillo then a wipe on poly.

Cool car thanks for sharing definitely a keeper!
You bet
Happy New Year! Fix the running board rust. Great color on a great car.
Thanks
I like Ruth. She’s a keeper.

Dude!!! Beautiful ride!!! Thanks for the Ride along!!!✌️

She’s a sharp ol gal. You and Duff enjoy it.
Duff’s face when you blew the horn! 😂
I don’t know what’s cooler, the 39 ford or the buddy that went for a ride with you.

Greetings Mr Mortske, that is one sweet ride, she is definitely a keeper. Have a great weekend, take care. 👍👍👍
You bet! It's a real gem!
Sweet ride Duff Dog. And the best closing music ever Mortske. Please don't ever change it. Nice 2nd channel video. 👍🍺💯
Thanks for the kind words!
Yes sir that is a nice car, but not so nice that you don't want to drive it! Drive it and enjoy !
You got that right!
Great year 39. My dad was born in 39. He will be 86 in march
That car is legit drool worthy.
I was going to do a rant on Henry Ford but Mortske is able smooth things over with Ruth. lol
Sweet ride!! I prefer sedans over coupes, myself - I’ve got a ‘41 Plymouth 2door. Never sell Ruth - or Duff!
Sedans are the best!
Im very impressed with the state of the vehicle. It would be a definit keeper in my book. You see so many of these dismantled or just a pile of trash.
Agreed
Overdrive and a turbocharger, yeah baby!
