So to add to the story Pete is the son of a bowler named Dick Weber from the 70s who was pure and wholesome. He was also the highest paid athlete at the time. Pete would be pure and innocent for years.
Pete would become an alcoholic but his personality brought many personalities to bowling due to his incessant cussing and telling people to suck him off. Pete has retired recently with a career that brought many eyes to bowling and millions to his pocket.
My dad actually bowled against Pete Weber, my dad only won 2 of the 5 games but he still was stoked over it. Pete gave him the glove he used for that game and signed it, pretty cool
I honestly think that the less physically active the sport is, the more aggressive the participants tend to be. Possibly because they don't provide the same outlet for what can be a highly competitive environment.
Pete has been my long time hero His inspiring words, " Who do you think you are? I AM!", are ingrained in my soul and his victory drives me to this very day.
I’ve met and spoken with Pete Weber several occasions at the Weber Cup (named after his father) and he’s actually a really nice guy, just a fierce competitor honestly. I saw him rip into a kid for moving his sign on a chair next to him but at the end of the game he gave him a ton of signed stuff to apologise. He’s a class dude
Chris Barnes is the same way kind of, he's VERY serious on the lanes but off of them he's a great dude, I got to meet him in detroit and he was awesome
Haha, that's not class! If a guy buys his girlfriend flowers after screaming at her for the dumbest shit then would you call him classy, especially considering it's a pattern and not some one-off event? He's a total douche, the one tiny redeeming quality is that he has enough of a moral compass to actually feel bad about being a complete douche so he attempts to make up for it, but he's still a douche all the same. Not being 100% immoral doesn't make one classy.
EXTRA CONTEXT FOR PEOPLE WHO CARE: Here's what people here need to understand about Pete Weber. He's an honest guy, and he's not afraid to say what bothers him. He's got an hour-long documentary on him, where he basically says "This is my place of work; don't f*ck with me in my place of work. Just don't piss me off, because if you piss me off when we're bowling, I will beat you." He recently retired from the tour, which was quite unfortunate. Edit: Actually what I just remembered about this tournament. This is the US Open, regarded as professional bowling's toughest event. Pete Weber had won 4 US Opens before this point, which tied his father's record of 4 US Opens. He started this event as the 5 Seed (which is the lowest seed on the show). Fast forward halfway through the first game, and he's losing. So out of nowhere, he just starts to piss himself off. People still aren't sure if someone in the crowd actually did something, or if he just invented some invisible person in the stands that made him angry. Either way, fast forwards to the end of the show. He needs a strike to win by one point, and he got a strike. All the emotion just blasted out of him at that point; he's normally fired up but that was something nobody had ever seen before. Easily one of, if not the most popular bowling moment of all time. Extra extra context: 3:12 Jason Belmonte likes to sometimes play subtle mind games with people. In the middle of Sean Rash's first swing, Jason took a sip of water from a plastic water bottle (which obviously made as much noise as you can imagine). Sean noticed and stepped back to start his throw again, verbally upset as well. That was the next shot, they still don't like eachother today. 3:27 Someone basically went WOOWOOOWOOOWOOOO in the middle of his shot when he needed a strike to stay in the match. Concentration is absolutely key in bowling, and people (including myself) will absolutely get pissed off if you mess with their concentration. It's essentially the equivalent of yelling in the middle of a free throw at a high school basketball game.
"It's called Sportsmanship, pal!" - A man who has never shown sportsmanship in his life. Also I was really hoping the crowd would just start screaming at him everytime he would go to bowl.
For a small bit of context on why the movement in the crowd was bothering him, those chairs are set up ON the lanes to his left, meaning they're out in front of him and directly in his peripheral vision when he's looking at where he's aiming, and keeping your eyes on your target board is really important for consistency. The guy in the crowd absolutely should have been moved after 3 interruptions. When you looked at the crowd dumbfounded because you couldn't see the person being a dick, its because the guy is ONLY doing anything during petes approach, he's waiting until pete is starting his swing then either making a noise or moving deliberately to make pete lose focus
“I’m such a pro bowler but if you move while I’m trying to bowl I won’t be able to bowl as well” The guy is preemptively blaming someone before he fucks up.

He's an honest guy, and he's not afraid to say what bothers him. He's got an hour-long documentary on him, where he basically says "This is my place of work; don't f*ck with me in my place of work. Just don't piss me off, because if you piss me off when we're bowling, I will beat you."
He recently retired from the tour, which was quite unfortunate.
Extra extra context:
3:12 Jason Belmonte likes to sometimes play subtle mind games with people.
4:03 MY DUDE LITERALLY JUST DIES
I watched this live with my grandpa. We were both laughing our asses off with how ridiculous he was xD
Pete’s just talking to the people in his head
"Who do you think you are, I am" is like some straight up Biblical shit to throw at someone.
He just retired the other day. A Legend
Good.
Imagine if he misses one pin and just screams the N-word.
😂😂
And the crowd continues to stare blankly
Nah he's a bowler not a gamer
Pewdiepie bridge type beat
“Nooooooooo”
Life is so complex I’m glad we can all come together and watch Charlie’s videos together and relax a bit🧡🧡
I think Pete’s a really good player and a great protagonist in this bowling anime arc
"It's called Sportsmanship, pal!" - A man who has never shown sportsmanship in his life.
Also I was really hoping the crowd would just start screaming at him everytime he would go to bowl.
Have you seen Del Ballard Vs PDW
I love the commentator that says "I'm taking cover".
Pete Weber is a legend. "WHOEVER YOU THINK YOU ARE, I AM!"
“Please stop moving in my approach”
Pete went insane at the end.
"Who do you think you are, I am!"
Plot twist: he's actually playing mind games with his opponent to get him confused so he won't throw anything good
“I’m such a pro bowler but if you move while I’m trying to bowl I won’t be able to bowl as well” The guy is preemptively blaming someone before he fucks up.
No different then golfing lmao
He didn’t fuck up though he won the tournament lol
@@davidg6711You know what preemptively means right?
I'd never seen the full video, and I love hearing how even the announcers are baffled by this ghost battle he's fighting
