I'd say the solution is kinda do a bit of all 3. If your gonna get something hyped, be subtle with it, or style it humbly. Thrifting is also good. yeah you can get scammed, but sometimes you can get jackets and shoes for way cheaper than if you bought new. Simplicity is good too, but if you overdo it, the outfit just comes off as bland.
i got 96 jordan 12 taxis for $15 by thriftin and they wasn’t too beat. my homies and i were able to restore em for like another $20
