- In today's Europa Universalis IV (EU4) video we will be giving the Dutch nation of Holland maximum technology in 1444 and seeing how the AI handles being so strong while being such a small nation. This tech will buff their economy, military, diplomacy, and many other things!

Would it possible to randomise the tech of every nation so that some would have an advantage, but may have to deal with terrible corruption from unbalanced tech.
Yes. Just use a random number generator
That should actually be possible, you would have to replace the value for the starting techs for each tech group with a small script that runs a rng and this could work
The issue with this is that it would effect entire tech groups in a uniform fashion. While having every nation have random tech is likely also possible by replacing the starting tech value individually for every tag, it would be a very long and tedious process. Could be a cool idea for a dedicated modder though (not me I just like to change numbers)
The reason why Holland didn't pick exploration and/or expansion is because they were a vassal, and vassals have an times 0 modifier for picking those ideas and since all ideas were open at the start of the game they now didn't have any space left to pick them after the indenpedance war.
The Dutch indeed got into that space spice.
You should definitely pop out Mann from England and either give max tech to this tag or put all monuments on their tiny island. Both buffs are sure to create total chaos in the British Isles.

How about a run messing around with some of the AI personalities like making all AI leaders militarist so they'll pop off wars a lot a lot? Also giving them all the conqueror and bold fighter trait should lead to a lot more wars!

I think using Xorme AI would be a good idea for that, it certainly helps a lot with AIs being more aggressive

Edit: there are still some other opinions on which is the oldest city out the Netherlands. Some people say it is Maastricht, while others even mention Voorburg (directly next to The Heague) to be the oldest 😮

Could you do a video where you give one nation max technologies, a province in another nation all the world monuments and a third nation 'infinite' money and then see which of them would do best? (You should probably spread them out e.g. give max tech to Dahomey, move all monuments to Vanni (Jaffna) and give infinite money to Theodoro.)

When you do adjustments to a specific nation like this it works best to set them to agressive via setting their ruler/heir to Militarist.

Idea for this type of run. Custom Nation OPM. Give them whatever you want, but they must be placed in an extremely difficult starting area. See if they survive and potentially thrive. Note difficulty is neighbouring countries, not sticking them on a random island they cannot expand from without no CB wars. For example, making Navarra non-catholic with the big catholic countries neighbouring them.
You can give them any buffs you want, from max tech, but the main idea is too see which Custom Nations Idea's are the most broken (not counting siberian frontier). I would create a Viking inspired nation to start with, basically seeing if the A.I can do the For Odin achievement.

Max tech Monferrato might be interesting, since they can reform into Byzantium. I just don't remember if they get the appropiate claims needed for that.

Can only imagine how much more overpowered the Dutch would have been if they did take exploration ideas. Having a good half century lead in the Americas, as well as every opportunity to explore and conquer Asia.

It is however a nordic country together with Finland and have a seat on the nordic council.

Pretty sure that the AI didn't build a single courthouse and or townhall. They kinda never do that which leads to massive gov. cap. problems

I went through some of my save games and switched to the AI. They hardly ever build courthouses, even when at Governing Cap. (nations I checked include, Ottoman, Ming, Commonwealth)@@Chewbert
